Dauntless update 1.7.0 is bringing the thunder. The Wild Thunder update brings a huge change to the way Hunters build their characters with the addition of all-new Omnicells. Unlike regular cells, Omnicells come with both passive and active perks that have a drastic effect on the way a hunt unfolds. There are three Omnicells to choose from: Bastion, Iceborne, and Discipline. It’s been over six years since Dead Island 2 was first announced. Revealed during E3 2014, the title has been on-again, off-again with so many developers that no one really knows what is happening. Publisher Koch Media’s last messaging about the game was that the project wasn’t dead, but that was back in November of 2019. What gives? If a recent job listing is anything to go by, it could be indicating that Dead Island 2 is headed to next-generation platforms....

Earlier this March, Kojima Productions revealed that the PC version of Death Stranding would be released in June of this year in partnership with 505 Games. However, it has been confirmed that Death Stranding for the PC is the latest game to be postponed due to the outbreak. In a Twitter post released by Kojima Productions earlier today, the studio revealed that because of its temporary closure due to strict work-from-home orders that are currently in place, the June 2 release date of Death Stranding for the PC is delayed to July 14, 2020....

Ever since its announcement at E3 2016, there have been many rumors and speculation surrounding Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding and its potential release date. While we still don’t have a concrete release date from Kojima or anyone at Sony, one of the game’s voice actors has teased on Twitter that the wait for Death Stranding is almost over. Troy Baker, the highly prolific video game voice actor, tweeted a picture of Final Fantasy 13’s Snow Villiers, a character he presumably recorded voice lines for in 2009 (Final Fantasy 13 launched in Japan in 2009, but released elsewhere in 2010) next to his character from Death Stranding with the caption “#2009vs2019 …?...

The video game developer Bungie admits that it is still considering adding matchmaking support for raids in its popular science fiction shooter Destiny. Although always being on fans’ PvE wishlist, Destiny in its current incarnation lacks the capacity for matchmaking with raids, but it’s possible that the action-RPG could see that change sometime in the near future. As it happens, when speaking to the press outlet Metro about potentially adding the feature to Destiny, world design lead Steve Cotton stated that Bungie has been discussing whether or not it could make its way into the game....

Bungie reveals that the new light level cap for Destiny: Rise of Iron will start at 385 and will jump to 400 with the launch of the hard mode version of the raid. With the launch of a new Destiny expansion, like September’s Rise of Iron, comes a certain set of expectations. Players want a new raid, they want new gear, and they want new activities to complete. But behind all that is usually a revamped progression system, which in Rise of Iron’s case has been slightly tweaked since the April update....

Destiny 2: Beyond Light comes with a new Triumph Seal that rewards the title Splintered. Earning the title requires the completion of 45 triumphs, including Reuniting The Eventide Rookery, which requires you to find and place nine penguins somewhere in Europa. If you’ve played other Destiny 2 expansions, you may already know that triumphs with nine steps typically take nine weeks to accomplish, and Reuniting The Eventide Rookery is no exception....

The March update for Destiny 2 is now out, which made adjustments to weapons, player’s movement speed, ability charge rates and more. However, not in this latest update are two things fans keep talking about: random weapon rolls and the return of Destiny 1’s Primary/Special/Heavy weapon slots. But in their absence, Bungie says that those are near the top of the developer’s priority list. Destiny 2 will have different matchmaking settings between its two PvP playlists, in an attempt to offer a mix of competitive and casual environments. In the Destiny 2 beta on consoles in July, developer Bungie implemented its signature blend of connection-based and skill-based matchmaking in both its Quickplay and Competitive playlists, but that’s about to change in the beta for PC and for the full game itself. It appears that Bungie listened to feedback during the console beta that said skill-based matchmaking should be toned down or removed in the casual Quickplay playlist....

Players looking for new things to do in Destiny 2 got their wish this week as the first post-Forsaken content update known as Black Armory arrived. While not a traditional expansion, Black Armory acts more like a subscription service, unlocking new quests and contents over time rather than all at once. Even with new Lost Forges lighting up, Black Armory gear to acquire, and a brand new Raid to overcome, Bungie isn’t stopping to rest and detailed an expansive list of balance changes arriving int he weeks and months to come....

It’s the calm before the storm with Destiny 2, as most players are now eagerly waiting for Season 2 to kick off alongside the Curse of Osiris story expansion. Bungie got the ball rolling earlier this week with its first of three planned livestreams for the new content, showing off one of the first story missions set on Mercury and confirming The Lighthouse as a new social hub. The work didn’t stop there, however, as the developer also released a new hotfix for Destiny 2 and while the update was on the smaller side, it updated a number of items in advance of the forthcoming expansion....

Early Access to Destiny 2’s PC beta is officially live, Bungie has announced on social media. Players who have pre-ordered Destiny 2 for PC and input their beta codes through Blizzard’s online services are now able to download and play through the Battle.net Blizzard app. Early Access for pre-orderers will only last for 24 hours before the open beta begins and everyone can participate. The beta is currently scheduled to end on August 31....
