Long before Bungie’s Destiny 2 released to the eager masses in early September, fans had been wondering about which elements of the original first-person shooter title would remain the same in the sequel. As time went by, the studio clarified that things like character personalization and certain weapons (such as the Mida Multi-Tool) would transfer over to Destiny 2, leaving players of new additions rolling out down the line. One individual claimed to have identified such an upcoming addition when they discovered files in the Destiny 2 database that pertained to Prison of Elders....

Next week, Destiny 2 will officially kick off Season 5, which is called the Season of the Forge, and with it will come new pursuits for players. While Bungie has yet to reveal everything about Season 5, the developer has detailed some of the pinnacle weapons that players can chase from November until March. Specifically, there will be a new Crucible pinnacle weapon called The Mountaintop that is sure to split the community....

There was a time in the not-so-distant history of Destiny 2 where fans were outraged about Eververse, the game’s microtransaction store. So much so that the official Destiny forums on Bungie.net were overrun by spam posts calling for the complete shutdown of Eververse. As the months passed, more updates went live, and now with another DLC launched, it appeared that developer Bungie heard the criticism about players feeling like too much content was locked behind the Eververse store....

Changes are coming to Destiny 2’s Trials PvP mode, according to Bungie Crucible design lead Lars Bakken. The Trials of Osiris PvP mode was one of the most popular post-launch additions to Destiny, arriving with the House of Wolves expansion in May 2015. Bungie previously confirmed that Trials will be returning in the sequel with certain changes. But now Bakken makes it seem like there’s much more to Destiny 2’s Trials than fans may have thought....

Last January, the Cyberpunk 2077 twitter went “beep” for the first time in four years. Before that, the Polish developers shows off concept art for a game that showed incredible reach even for the time–a cyberpunk RPG along the lines of great cyberpunk stories like Altered Carbon and Blade Runner....

The best thing to come out of the first Star Wars episode, Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer, has been made available on digital distribution platform GOG. The game, which originally released 19 years ago in 1999, allows the player to participate in podraces as Anakin Skywalker does in the original movie. Nintendo’s robust Switch sequel to the DS’s Clubhouse Games can be pretty great when it comes to parties and social gaming. With many recognizable and appealing romps ranging from Blackjack and war to golf and bowling, there’s something for just about everyone. When it comes to multiplayer packages, Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics is seemingly the strongest offering on Switch since Super Mario Party. Still, while it’s a solid title for 2 player games, its 4 player support is a bit more dicey....

The development studio behind the highly controversial mass shooter simulator game called Hatred has confirmed that the title will be releasing for the Nintendo Switch console sometime in the future. Hatred was initially announced in 2014 (and released in 2015) for PC, but managed to generate a decent amount of online attention and controversy due to its nature and gameplay elements. Since Hatred involved the main character going on a “genocide crusade,” the game essentially made players kill as many people (including police officers) as they possibly could....

The disappointment was palpable at the International DOTA 2 Championships. But not because a favored team suffered a heartbreaking loss. Just before the final match between Team Liquid and Team Secret during day 2 of the Championship games, Valve released a teaser video for an upcoming game. While the MCU remains dormant during the COVID-19 pandemic, the gaming scene has become innundated with Marvel’s Avengers. The game has received a lot of marketing, and has proved somewhat controversial due to its live service nature. While developer Crystal Dynamics has been responsive to complaints, promising to fix things like the Hive loot bug, it has not been idle on non-Avengers (probably) projects either. Crystal Dynamics had not made anything resembling Marvel’s Avengers before, although the company is no stranger to adventure games....

It’s not a great time for Crytek Studios who’ve been suffering from financial woes and earning a great many of concerning headlines amongst video games media in recent weeks. As we’re learning, the reports of wages not being paid on time and employees leaving or being downright unhappy were seemingly true. They’re evolving and shifting focus and getting everyone aboard hasn’t been the smoothest of transitions. Part of the reason, according to insiders is because of new directions the company is moving in, including jumping on the free-to-play MOBA bandwagon with a new game called Arena of Fate....

And while many reviews for the PC version are positive, most of the chatter one will find in the news and on social media is of the game’s abundance of bugs. While large games like this are often rife with technical hiccups, CD Projekt Red’s futuristic open-world game has proven to be a special case, especially for copies running on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One....

The release of Cyberpunk 2077 has been poorly received in a lot of ways. Many players have been coming up with theories explaining its rushed launch, bugs, and other problems that have plagued the game. From its position as one of the most hyped games of last year, Cyberpunk 2077 crashed hard. A plethora of bugs and glitches, as well as several controversies surrounding the developer CD Projekt Red, created a rocky landing for this major title....

CD Projekt Red has pushed Cyberpunk 2077’s hotfix 1.04 live on PlayStation consoles and PC. Xbox users will need to wait a bit longer for the patch, but no release date was announced. Unlike the Day 0 update – which didn’t come with a detailed list of patch notes – the latest Cyberpunk 2077 hotfix comes with a laundry list of changes. The majority of them relate to various bugs encountered during quests in Night City, while several others squash visual hiccups and performance issues....

In Night City, having the best weapons, the best clothes, and the finest Cyberware can be the difference between succeeding and failing. Every upgrade and piece of gear you get will make you a better fit for Cyberpunk’s harsh environment. While there are many unique weapons and different types of cool clothing, nothing makes you feel more special than getting your hands on some legendary items....

NPCs and questlines often intersect in ways players don’t expect in Cyberpunk 2077. The path to getting its secret ending is a long and winding one, and one of the necessary steps is completing Second Conflict. Second Conflict is part of the side gig questline that centers around Johnny Silverhand, V’s constant companion in Cyberpunk 2077. Johnny’s got unfinished business, and he frequently requests V’s help in settling his grudges and reconnecting with old friends....

While Sony moves ahead with the God of War prequel Ascension, the man who created the series is set to begin work on a new game at a new studio. David Jaffe, nearly free of his post-launch duties on Twisted Metal, has teased a number of ideas for his next project, from a “big, huge next gen game” to a browser-based title. Jaffe has apparently winnowed the possibilities down to two candidates, and while the famously outspoken developer is tight-lipped on the details, he sums up one of the games succinctly: “There is a gun… and you hold it....

Just like the killers featured in-game, Dead by Daylight can’t help teasing what’s coming next. Unfortunately, in this case the tease was completely unintentional. Developer Behaviour Interactive has accidentally leaked an as-yet-unannounced Killer, including an unfinished version of them in its latest patch. The Killer is none other than the Scream franchise’s slasher, Ghostface. Details regarding Ghostface’s official forthcoming release have yet to be confirmed. Not that there’s any doubt, considering Ghostface was leaked via an official update to Dead by Daylight, but Behaviour has since confirmed the Killer as part of its upcoming chapter release....
