Anthony Gene Thomas, a 41-year-old Florida man, has been arrested following accusations of using Fortnite, financially the biggest game in the world, to groom underage victims into meeting him, along with an accomplice. Police currently believe that there could be as many as 20 victims. Thomas’s accomplice used Fortnite’s chat system to meet young victims and introduce them to Thomas himself, who then used gifts to further groom the victims. One 17-year-old victim was given cash and a phone, which Thomas then used to remain in contact with the minor....

Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex are teaming up once again. Two voice actors behind the best-selling Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, Scott Whyte and Lex Lang, have revealed that they are working on a new project that may be related to the orange marsupial… or not. Crytek’s upcoming Crysis Remastered, an HD updated release of the original Crysis on current-gen consoles, still doesn’t have an official release date confirmed by the developer. However, a PlayStation affiliated YouTube channel might have given away when Crytek intends to launch the title on PS4, and possibly on other platforms as well. The “leaked” release date for Crysis Remastered comes from the YouTube channel PlayStation Access, a UK based, Sony affiliated channel that highlights the company’s new releases....

It’s official, there are now two big names in the cyberpunk genre of video games. The first one is a longtime staple of video game history, Deus Ex, and the second is our long-awaited new challenger, Cyberpunk 2077. Cyberpunk 2077 is chock-full of bugs. While developer CD Projekt Red is currently hard at work updating the game and remedying technical issues, gamers are still contending with glitches while trying to work their way through Night City. Covenants were introduced in the original Dark Souls as a means to add more personalization to online play, allowing players to swear their allegiance to a single Covenant in exchange for certain benefits. In execution, the Covenant system left quite a lot to be desired. Along with there being zero incentive to stick to a Covenant, most just aren’t worth the effort of grinding. While neither sequel ironed out Covenants flawlessly, Dark Souls 3 at least puts the mechanic to some decent use....

In an effort to stop Dark Souls 3’s hackers, publisher Bandai Namco has been punishing innocent players who have simply crossed paths with those unscrupulously altering the game, but it seems as if such a dragnet approach to the problem isn’t working. For instance, the Redditor Pimpinpinguino can attest that the hacking continues, as one player took advantage of the PC game code for Dark Souls 3 to turn themselves into a flying archer that’s basically undefeatable....

Without a doubt, many Darksiders 3 fans were hoping to see THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games show off the forthcoming action-adventure title at E3 2018 in some capacity, but the publisher and developer instead opted to skip this year’s expo in favor of watching the World Cup.
