We imagine many horror fans of a certain age never thought the day would come: Friday the 13th is finally returning to the screen! (Although not the big one.) More than 13 years after we last saw Jason Voorhees creep around Camp Crystal Lake in Platinum Dunes’ soulless Friday the 13th remake (2009), the legal battles that prevented anyone else from claiming the hockey mask have apparently been settled—at least insofar as to allow Peacock to announce the upcoming Crystal Lake on the NBCUni streaming service....

Despite claims to the contrary, this Dante featured in the new Devil May Cry, succinctly titled DmC, will be quite similar to the Dante gamers have grown quite fond of over the years. In fact, new screenshots for the game have been released that not only show Dante enacting some of his signature moves, but also give a brief glimpse of a monstrous boss and Dante with white hair. That’s right, though this DmC Dante might appear to be a complete 180 from the traditional visage of Dante, he actually is quite similar....

Every title in the Kingdom Hearts series has included at least one overwhelmingly difficult boss for players to challenge, usually after having already beaten the main campaign. This remained the same in Kingdom Hearts 3, even though the usual suspect of Final Fantasy 7’s Sephiroth was replaced with a the new Dark Inferno Heartless. While it was somewhat disappointing to see the usual Final Fantasy or Disney themed optional bosses not appear in Kingdom Hearts 3, the Dark Inferno still acts as an expert example of how the new game’s combat can excel....

The Dark Souls series is very memorable to anyone who plays the games, but for a very different reason than usual. The series is one of the most challenging action-RPGs ever, curb-stomping new and returning players in-game, all the time. Dark Souls players have the words “YOU DIED” imprinted in their souls to the point that players and fans around the world have turned those words into hilarious memes. Similar to the extremely educational Guidance Soapstone messages like “Try Finger But Hole,” the Dark Souls memes are meant to be seen to be appreciated....

For better or worse, Dark Souls becomes a considerably different game after defeating Ornstein & Smough in Anor Londo. The Lordvessel is an extremely useful quality of life item that lets Chosen Undead warp from Bonfire to Bonfire, but this has a direct consequence on Dark Souls’ level design. The back half is far more divided than everything before Anor Londo, with all four Lord Souls attached to some of the weakest areas in the Soulsborne franchise....

From Software’s intimidating action RPG Dark Souls 3 proves to be just as formidable in the charts, taking the top spot for sales in April 2016 against some stiff opposition. Dark Souls III developer From Software will have already known that it was on to a winner with the notorious hack’n’slash title. The game proved to be a darling of the critics, earning strong reviews across the board, and has been the talk of the gaming community, earning a place in YouTube’s top ten trending games of April 2016....

Despite the franchise’s child friendly nature and mass appeal, Dragon Ball has never been one to shy away from the downright disturb. Deep Rock Galactic is receiving its first piece of post-launch content in the form of two brand-new missions. As an added bonus, the content is entirely free for anyone who owns the game. The multiplayer first-person shooter from Ghost Ship Games and published by Coffee Stain Publishing launched earlier this year on PC, and this new update is the first time fans will be able to try out additional content. Deep Rock Galactic is already one of the longest games on PC, as it can take over 150 hours to beat, so the new missions will ensure that players have even more to do....

Remember the good old days when parents blamed Beavis and Butt-Head for their kids doing stupid stuff? Well get ready for some nostalgia, because now it looks like a cartoon is influencing people yet again. Japanese fans of the anime Demon Slayer have apparently been climbing Mount Kumotori in Tokyo to see the real world location that kicks off the events of their favorite series, and city officials have issued a statement warning against attempting the climb on a whim....

Demon Turf is an upcoming 3D platformer that looks to reignite the genre with a sassy and intriguing storyline. Fabraz, the developers of the award winning 2D platformer Slime-san are looking to test their skills and take the concept to a 3D world with Demon Turf. According to Nintendo Everything, the story revolves around the young Beebz, a young demon living in the Demon World. In the Demon World demons and other baddies are divided into gangs centralized around a powerful leader, but everyone bows to the Demon King who rules over everyone....

It’s no secret that hand cannons are a popular weapon in Destiny 2. Besides being perfect for the “space cowboy” aesthetic, hand cannons–specifically Lightweight Frame hand cannons–had some of the best time-to-kill in Destiny 2’s PvP game mode. But not all hand cannons were created equal. Lightweight cannons were immensely popular, but Aggressive, Adaptive, and Precision hand cannons were virtually unused outside of PvE. That’s all set to change in Beyond Light....

Even though Destiny 2 continues to have a healthy population of players for a game that’s approaching its third anniversary in a few months, the community remains highly vocal about the numerous issues the game has. One of Destiny 2’s biggest secrets is currently being unfolded, and that is the mystery of the secret plates hidden around the solar system. Thanks to the Last Wish raid, players now know these plates are used to grant wishes while in the raid. To get to the Wall of Wishes, players must head left before the Kalli encounter and jump toward the glowing plants. Keep following the glowing plants and jumping to new ledges until you reach the wall....

The latest exotic quest arrived in Destiny 2 this week, with the final reward being the kinetic scout rifle Dead Man’s Tale. The full quest to get the rifle is relatively short and simple but involves a secret mission much like the Harbinger mission for Hawkmoon from last season, which can still be completed in the new Season of the Chosen. These exotic secret missions in Destiny 2 are never easy and Presage is no exception because of a tricky platforming section right at the very start....

Bungie has launched a new Destiny 2 artist reference portal where they will host armor, weapon, and character reference sheets for prospective cosplayers, paints, sketchers, and more. The page was launched with three brand new reference sheets, one for each of the game’s major classes. New armor for the Titan, Hunter, and Warlock comes from the recent Open Beta Trailer, but was also featured in art Bungie posted to celebrate Bungie Day last week....

As fans suspected, Destiny 2’s new secret quest that rewards the exotic sniper Whisper of the Worm is live once again. And with it, developer Bungie has established the schedule for the quest, which for the foreseeable future, will go live on Fridays and then disappear on Monday at the 10 a.m. PST daily reset. For those who may not know, the Whisper of the Worm is one of the highest damaging weapons in the game and is also the return of a Destiny 1 favorite, and it is very much worth the effort of earning....

One of Destiny’s most infamous exotic guns, Thorn, has made a surprise appearance in a manga. The appearance was found and noted by Twitter user @ranta018 who shared the image with a caption simply stating “Thorn in manga” with several emojis. The comments are all mostly positive, with people happy to see representation outside of the video game. For those unaware, Thorn has been an exotic hand cannon since the first year of the original Destiny, but it has a rather troubled history as it has frequently been considered either too overpowered or too weak, only to shift paradigms as a new patch nerfs or buffs it accordingly....

After a surprise reveal at The Game Awards 2020 a few weeks ago, Capcom has finally unveiled the first footage of the Switch exclusive Ghosts ’n Goblins Resurrection. While many will still bemoan the 2.5D art style, the gameplay looks surprisingly faithful to the original games. This sure is Ghosts ’n Goblins. The most immediate change that I can spot is that protagonist Arthur has more than two hit points. That’s not to say that the game looks easy, but players will now have three hit points to get them through each of the game’s obstacles....
