Destiny 2 game director Luke Smith has been selected to keynote PAX West 2017 next month. Event organizers made the announcement this past weekend, indicating that Smith will deliver the ubiquitous “Storytime” address to kick off the event, which begins on September 1st in Seattle, Washington. Details on what Smith will be discussing aren’t clear as of yet, as his speech could go in a variety of different directions. However, considering he’s been the eyes and ears behind Destiny 2, one of this year’s biggest games, his talk will pull in a ton of attention regardless of its focus....

When Bungie and Activision confirmed that Destiny 2 will be released on PC, gamers on the platform were ecstatic. Having watched PlayStation and Xbox players enjoy the first Destiny game for over two years, the sequel would finally give them a chance to play the first-person shooter that everybody had been raving about. New data from industry research firm SuperData now reveals exactly how much that hype will pay off, suggesting that sales of Destiny 2 on PC could hit three million copies in just three months....

Destiny players finish the weekly Nightfall mission and discover rewards that include SRL gear such as Custom Horn Kits, racing armor, and SRL specific sparrows. With the Sparrow Racing League event having recently come to a close, Destiny fans have begun to see new Nightfall rewards appear in the form of Custom Horn Kits and Legendary Sparrow Boxes. These kits are capable of issuing out any rare or legendary horns previously rewarded out during SRL races, along with racing armor and even SRL sparrows like the Lightrunner....

By using various Captain America, Iron Man, and Spider-Man mods for Fallout 4, UpIsNotJump has managed to accurately recreate the latest trailer for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film Captain America: Civil War. The Fallout 4 recreation uses soundbites from the actual Civil War trailer, and is impressive work overall – featuring vault dwellers dressed as the characters from the film....

There are several playable characters in Marvel’s Avengers who can fly, but that won’t slow down Captain America, so long as he has two walls with him at all times. It has been revealed that Cap can wall run and wall jump in the game. Marvel’s Avengers is an upcoming action-adventure game that lets players control characters like Black Widow, Iron Man, and Thor. Captain America will also be playable and the gameplay trailers revealed so far have shown him beating up enemies with both his fists and his shield....

Just in time for Halloween, Konami is rereleasing two of the best games in the Castlevania series, packaged together in one title: Castlevania: Requiem. In preparation for this release, the company has added story summaries for both Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood (both games included in the compilation), as well as a timeline of every Castlevania game that has ever existed to its official website. Both Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night are beloved entries in the franchise, but they share more than just the adoration of fans....

Polish studio The Farm 51 has announced its horror-RPG Chernobylite will leave early access on PC this July, alongside the long-awaited console release on PS4 and Xbox One. In addition, the developers are busy with a special next-gen version for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, which is planned to come out at the end of 2021. The Chernobylite team has dropped the date announcement trailer, highlighting all the new content the players are about to receive in the final stage....

Cliff “Cliffy B” Bleszinski is a bit of a legend in the games industry, most notably for his contributions to the Gears of War franchise back on the Xbox 360. However, the famed game designer has had his fair share of troubles lately, in no small part due to the closure of his studio, Boss Key, following the successive failures of two of the studio’s games. Bleszinski announced his decision to take a break from the industry a few months ago, but now it appears he has no intention of coming back....

Since leaving Epic Games back in 2012, it’s been a wild ride for the former Gears of War and Unreal Tournament developer, Cliff Bleszinski. After taking some time to enjoy life, Bleszinski announced in 2014 that he was coming out of retirement to start a new video game development studio called Boss Key Productions along with industry veteran Arjan Brussee. Following the closure of the studio earlier this year, it appears that Bleszinski is preparing a book with a chapter dedicated to the rise and fall of his company....

Bethesda has revealed that a new Wolfenstein title will be hitting the market in July. The publishers had kept mum on that front since unveiling Wolfenstein: Youngblood at E3 in 2018 but, this week, they announced that the co-op shooter title will launch on July 26 and will be available for PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. A trailer posted to YouTube on Wednesday tells the story of sisters Jess and Soph, who set out to track down their missing dad, BJ Blazkowicz....

Many video game franchises live and die by their fans, and some of the best among them allow those communities to help make decisions. For example, Niantic lets Pokemon GO players vote on Community Day events. One franchise with a dedicated fanbase is Command and Conquer, a series of (mostly) real-time strategy (RTS) games that helped establish the genre with its first title, now subtitled Tiberian Dawn, in 1995. Just as gaming enters the next console generation, there are two major triple-A games in the spotlight which deal with Norse mythology. One is the recently released Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and the other is the upcoming sequel to 2018’s God of War. Not only did God of War’s soft reboot shift the setting from Greek mythology to Norse, but the new sequel will deal with Ragnarok, the death of the Norse gods (or so it seems based on its sole teaser)....

If there’s one company that’s not afraid to purchased exclusives it’s Microsoft. The house of Gates has laid down some serious cash to secure a number of different titles in the past – with the latest being an exchange of $2.5 billion for developer Mojang and Minecraft – but this is far from the first studio and IP purchased by the technology-driven giant. In fact, the Xbox manufacturer really turned heads back in 2002 when it bought out Rare and made the once Nintendo-exclusive developer a wholly owned subsidiary....

Capcom has been steadily dripfeeding information about Monster Hunter Rise through various social media channels. Twitter and YouTube received short clips that demonstrated each of the 14 weapons that players are able to use in the game, while also confirming some returning monsters, in December. Capcom has also shared clips and information regarding some of the new NPCs in the Monster Hunter Rise new hub, Kamura Village. While the announcement of some of those NPCs came in video form, Capcom has now switched to sharing concept art on Twitter of the various new characters....

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is ticking all the boxes in terms of remastering an all-time favourite franchise, as well as getting us nostalgic. There were a few things that the Legendary Edition missed out on, resulting in fans stepping in with mods. One such mod brings back the console commands. Console commands enabled you to make major changes to the game, essentially acting like cheat codes. Entering the right code would result in a number of things, like increasing your class points, getting more credits, adjusting your Paragon/Renegade alignment, or even boosting vehicle speed....

Stardew Valley is one of the biggest indie releases of recent memory. The PC version of update 1.5 of Stardew Valley released recently, but the console version has yet to go live. However, according to a recent tweet from the game’s developer, the console version of update 1.5 could arrive as soon as the end of January. There is so much in update 1.5 of Stardew Valley, making it the biggest update yet, including a new Beach Farm type, new advanced game options, local split-screen, and much more....

It appears that Alan Wake will finally return in Control‘s upcoming DLC expansion, AWE. A new trailer for AWE is light on details, but it opens with the sound of typewriter followed by Alan Wake’s voice warning us to “stay in the light.” After a few cinematic flashes of some mostly industrial settings, we’re treated to a few snippets of gameplay from the upcoming DLC. While Alan Wake does not appear as a playable character during those gameplay segments, we do catch a brief glimpse of him during the trailer’s closing moments....
