For various reasons, Destiny 2 is likely enjoying an influx of new and returning players with the release of its latest DLC, Forsaken. However, it may be a bit difficult to understand the story for some, especially those who have not played the original Destiny. It can also be difficult for returning players who have not played certain DLCs such as (but not limited to) The Taken King, Rise of Iron, or Warmind....
Destiny 2 undergoes so many updates that it can be hard to keep up with the game sometimes. And since it’s launch, those changes have built on top of one each other, making it a little different year after year. It’s worth mentioning that the innovations that Destiny 2: Beyond Light will bring can’t really be expanded upon, given that it’s not out quite yet. The changes that took place in the first three years of the game definitely left their mark nonetheless....
Nightfall scoring and its Challenge Card modifiers were added to Destiny 2 in the game’s February update. Since then, players have been able to find a way to farm their scores using Lost Sectors in the area of the Nightfalls, causing highly inflated scores. Developer Bungie says it is working on a change for that. As an example, the top score in this past week’s Nightfall was 473,212. Bungie is well aware that those scores are only possible by using the Lost Sector method....
Guardian Games has returned in Destiny 2 this year, giving each class a chance to show off their superior skills. Unlike other events that stay mostly the same each year, Guardian Games has seen some major changes since the last time it arrived. On top of obtaining Laurels through Eva’s bounties, Guardians will compete for points by participating in a new Guardian Games Strike Playlist, matchmaking players of the same class together....
Destiny 2 players were able to chase catalysts during Year 1 as they awaited may of the game-changing updates that came with the Forsaken expansion. But since the launch of Forsaken and the start of Year 2, catalysts (some of which needed to be earned with others dropping from specific activities) have been largely absent. It looks like that will soon change, however, with Destiny 2’s latest update on May 7, 2019, adding several catalysts to the game’s database, which was datamined by fans....
Destiny 2: Beyond Light introduced three new titles for Guardians to pursue. Titles contain a wide range of Triumphs that test a player’s skill and patience, granting a snippet of purple text to go below their name. Warden is the title associated with Season of the Hunt. Arguably the easiest title to earn this expansion, Warden tasks Guardians with completing various Wrathborn hunts while mastering the season’s new weapons. All but one of these Triumphs can be obtained solo, making this a great title to earn for most players....
Among the nearly innumerable pieces of information that came out of today’s first official gameplay livestream for the science fiction shooter Destiny 2, Bungie confirmed that the forthcoming sequel is set to receive a brand new multiplayer mode called Countdown. According to the developer, the new PvP game type is modeled as an “attack/defend” mode, which brings to mind the structure of other first-person shooters’ game modes like Call of Duty’s Domination, or Search and Destroy....
There are big changes coming to both Glory and Valor - Destiny 2’s PvP progression systems - in the upcoming update 1.2.3. The impact of Glory is being tuned to help the game have a more effective and competitive ranking system, and Valor is being extended to other playlists in order to make it a more relevant measure of PvP experience. For those who aren’t in the know, Valor and Glory are two separate measurements of a player’s experience in Destiny 2’s competitive modes....
The recent Forsaken expansion has gone a long way in making Destiny 2 the video game that many fans expected to see when it first launched. In addition to the new campaign, the expansion also added plenty of new zones like The Dreaming City, new modes, and secrets which fans have been slowly uncovering since the expansion arrived back in September. New gear and exotics were also added to the loot table, though, the drop rate has been much lower than people expected, so when a player discovers a pretty massive bug with one of the more high powered weapons, frustration naturally sets in....
We’ve known for a little while that Season of the Chosen will have another Exotic to chase. Datamines have revealed that it’ll be a Scout Rifle that’s acquired from an Exotic Quest that has Guardians board a deserted Cabal ship called the Glykon. The Glykon’s mysterious cargo involves a dead captain and The Darkness, which is always a great way to start a quest. Destiny 2’s latest update has added that Exotic Scout Rifle to the game’s files and reportedly also activated the Exotic Quest to find it....
Although the character might not be exclusive to the medium, few antagonists in fiction are as iconic as Count Dracula’s video adaptation. Castlevania’s original premise essentially threw monster movie icons at the player with Dracula as their arbitrary leader, but sequels would very quickly flesh out the Count’s villainy while setting the stage for a video game epic spanning generations. Just as Dracula is always destined to return, a Belmont will always rise up to challenge him....
Castlevania is an incredible Konami classic on the same level as Bomberman or the Metal Gear Solid franchise. Originally releasing back in the 1980s, a lot of things have changed ever since Simon Belmont first walked the gaming scene. Over the years, new elements like 3D and different protagonists have helped really enrich the Castlevania lore. However, while there have been many great games, the series has also produced a lot of titles that didn’t quite hit the mark....
Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards brought a series of notable announcements last night, with The Last of Us 2 managing to secure the coveted Game of the Year trophy and a series of never before seen titles being revealed. One of those games was a new multiplayer fantasy flight experience by developer Playwing, with the studio unveiling Century: Age of Ashes. The game, which will ship in Early Access on PC in February 2021, focuses on players mounting dragons and flying around large combat arenas, taking on rival opponents in daring aerial battles....
Following its launch for PC back in 2015, Paradox Interactive and Colossal Order’s city-building and construction simulator, Cities: Skylines, has released a slew of different add-ons, such as the first paid expansion known as After Dark. Now, the publisher and developer have announced plans to release yet another expansion for the title, by revealing that the DLC dubbed Industries is coming this month. Over the past couple of weeks, Apex Legends players have been thoroughly exploring the game’s new map, Olympus. Now the third map in the popular battle royale from Respawn Entertainment, Olympus offers players a unique experience in comparison to the previous two maps, and seems to show how the developer has grown since the game’s initial launch. Olympus appears to depict an almost utopian urban environment. All around the map, players can see a towering building, lush green grass, and elaborate road systems that are perfect for the Trident Hovercar, the first vehicle introduced to the game as part of the Season 7 update....

Few games are as arduous to complete as the indie darling, Cuphead. One of the most challenging experiences in the last decade is its crushing difficulty and brutal skill curve. Players could spend hours hunting down that perfect run, repeatedly failing along the way. While the bosses leading up to Inkwell Isle Two’s climax are tough, few bosses are as hard as Grim Matchstick. This colossal creature offers one of the highest skill curves in the game, asking players to platform while they fight—only those who are calm, collected, and well informed and overthrow this unforgiving titan....
Cuphead’s DLC, the Delicious Last Course, is a hearty meal full of new bosses, challenges, and achievements. While most of these digital trophies are self-explanatory, one of those unlocks is already making gamers scratch their heads. Mind you, it’s easy to understand all the confusion. After all, the elusive Paladin achievement in Cuphead simply reads: “Obtain great power.” That’s not exactly the most helpful of descriptions. Sure, that “explanation” implies that unlocking the achievement is no easy task, but unlike other achievements, the description doesn’t provide any actual instructions....
