After a lot of hype and anticipation, The Elder Scrolls Online launched this past summer to mixed reviews by critics and players. Despite the disappointment, the game quickly garnered over 700k active users, a stat Bethesda was quick to share in July, though little has been heard since. Adding to the rocky launch was the announcement by Bethesda that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of The Elder Scrolls Online would be delayed for more than six months after the game launched on PC and Mac....

Like the numbering suggests, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is ignoring most of the games in the Crash series to continue from where Naughty Dog’s original trilogy left off. This time around, development is being handled by Toys for Bob, the studio behind Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and this week it went into its ambitions for the new title. With the game set to launch in just two days, studio head Paul Yan spoke with IGN to give a clearer idea of how the studio intends to expand on what the Naughty Dog games established....

Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled is much more than just a remake. The game will also feature a slew of brand new content not seen in the original release, and it will also have significant post-launch support. As announced by Activision, Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled will feature post-launch seasonal events that will add free tracks, challenges, items, characters, and more, including none other than Spyro the Dragon. The first Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled seasonal Grand Prix event will take place on July 3 with the Nitro Tour Grand Prix....

Crimson Desert’s combat system is going to look a bit different from Black Desert, as it’s been revealed you’ll be able to use “professional wrestling moves” to take down your foes. The news was announced by Daeil Kim, Executive Producer on Crimson Desert, during a newly released commentary trailer. The trailer begins by discussing the world of Crimson Desert and the technological advances it makes over Black Desert. Kim wanted players to see mountains and rolling hills off in the distance – something not currently possible in Black Desert due to a limited draw-distance....

Trese Brothers recently dropped the first gameplay trailer for its cyberpunk tactical RPG Cyber Knights: Flashpoint. The game has been in development for two years, and after a successful Kickstarter run earlier this year, looks to be on track to meet its 2021 Early Access launch date. ICYMI, Cyber Knights: Flashpoint is indie developer Trese Brothers’ (Andrew and Cory) ninth video game to date, and features squad-level tactical combat, highly customizable characters, and plenty of cyberpunk flair....

The Reapers of Dark Souls 2 are a type of polearm weapon that consists of large sickles and scythes. They have great reach and usually deal enough damage to warrant their somewhat slow attack speed and odd hitbox. If the Bearer of the Curse is skilled enough to consistently land hits with a Reaper’s sweet spot (the bladed portion), they can cut huge chunks out of their foe’s HP bar. All that is required are moderate or high Strength and Dexterity stats, for such weapons are unwieldy; requiring both power and speed to be used effectively....

War and Strife are the two protagonists in Darksiders: Genesis. Each character begins the game with just one ability, but gamers can find two additional abilities for each protagonist while playing the game. These abilities are found in epic chests that are scattered throughout the storyline. Some of the chests are easy to spot, while others are placed in obscure locations. Players that want to get the most out of both characters will need to find all epic chests, as the Wraith abilities will be crucial in the final missions....

Slayers, get ready to tackle the Infinite Radiance season in Dauntless patch 1.6.0. There is so much coming in this new season, including Trials updates, the new Reward Cache and Challenges, Primal Behemoths and Perfect Strike, the Time Strike Hunt Pass, and perhaps best of all, the unexpected arrival of the War Pike and Wound mechanic rework. Maybe “unexpected” is the wrong word, as Phoenix Labs announced the War Pike and Wound mechanic rework in 2020, but only recently have players seen progress towards what that would look like....

A retail listing for Destiny: Rise of Iron confirms that PlayStation 4 players will be getting exclusive content, though it’s not yet known what that will entail. It’s been a big week so far for video game related reveals, leaks, and teases as companies rush to one up each other before all eyes fall on Los Angeles next week for the annual spectacle that is E3. One of the surprising reveals came yesterday as Bungie showed off and detailed the next major expansion for its popular first-person shooter known as Destiny: Rise of Iron....

We have the early scoop on where to find the vendor Xur and what exotic armor and weapons he has available to Destiny players for the weekend of September 30th. Another week of Xur, and most Destiny fans will be disappointed with what the exotics he has to offer this week. Not that the exotics are bad—they’re actually quite good—but they have been around for a while in Destiny, and veteran players will no doubt already have a version of these exotics already leveled up in their inventory....

It wouldn’t be a new Destiny 2 season if there wasn’t some sort of new progression system. Ever since Season of Dawn, Bungie has included progression systems tied to that season’s content loop, giving players avenues of improving their end-of-match loot. Season of the Chosen’s new progression system is the Hammer of Proving, a massive Cabal hammer that can smash Tribute Chests at the end of a Battleground match. Upgrading this hammer can be a confusing process for most, both in how to unlock upgrades and which upgrades are best....

The wait for Beyond Light will soon be over with Destiny 2 players will finally stepping into the Darkness for the first time and wielding the first dark element, Stasis. While the new Stasis subclasses will shift the playground substantially, Bungie unveiled in a recent article that Anti-Champion mods will now go on armor pieces instead of weapons. Champions were a new type of enemy introduced in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep. They are a form of elite combatant and require special mods to be countered....

This week’s reset in Destiny 2 brought a lot of new pursuits to chase, including the quests for the Wish-Ender and Malfeasance exotics. These new quests coincided with the first time that the curse upon the Dreaming City has been its strongest (a three week cycle that started with the completion of the Last Wish raid). As of the next weekly reset, The Shattered Throne dungeon will be unreachable until the next time the curse is strongest in three weeks....

Masterworks weapons are the newest addition to Destiny 2, a new tier of Legendary weapons with increased stats and perks. The goal with Masteworks is to give players more gear to chase in the endgame and a way to further customize their characters. However, while Bungie’s plan with Masterworks began with weapons, it won’t end there. This week the developer teased that it will eventually add Masterworks armor. While no date has been set as to when to expect Masterwork armor in Destiny 2, Bungie says the studio is working on how best to implement them....

CBS All Access is organizing a day-long virtual event to celebrate the 54th anniversary of the original Star Trek series’ premiere on Tuesday, September 8th. The celebration will provide 24-hours of free programming consisting of panels featuring cast reunions for nine Star Trek shows and a marathon of select episodes from every series to date.
