Benjamin Finegold, Chess GM and outspoken critic of the new life being breathed into the game by Twitch stars, has been banned from Twitch. There’s something weird going on over at Twitch.tv. Chess is having a revival on the streaming platform thanks to the likes of Hiarku Nakamura, a grandmaster ranked in the top five of the blitz format, as well as Twitch superstar xQc. The two teamed up recently to bring Chess to the masses, but some of the old guard weren’t too pleased with them....

Call of Duty: Warzone is entering Season Four, and it’s taking Black Ops Cold War with it. The monolithic shooter series is marching onwards with both its free-to-play and premium offerings, with a big patch that includes new ways to play, and new guns to shoot. But despite all of the new content, what might be most exciting is a buff to the Assault Rifle Golf. Only, that’s a bit mysterious if you don’t know which weapon that actually is - and even if you do know which weapons are given specific codenames in one Call of Duty, that’ll get more complicated when you factor in that Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare have the same naming convention, but for completely different weapons....

Conan O’Brien’s Clueless Gamer segments have grown increasingly popular over the years, with the talk show host generating millions of views on YouTube for his takedowns of major titles like Overwatch and Fallout 4. Now, the TBS star has released what may be his most star-studded segment yet, as part of his 3rd annual Super Bowl edition of Clueless Gamer, featuring Ubisoft’s upcoming title For Honor....

Ever since Microsoft arrived on the scene with the unveiling of the original Xbox back in the day (and I mean the real Xbox 1 here), the feud between Sony and Microsoft fanboys has been going strong. It’s an ancient feud going back generations— console generations that is (so like the early 2000s). Control coming to the Nintendo Switch was one of the biggest surprises during Nintendo’s Direct Mini: Partner Showcase a few days ago. Remedy Entertainment’s third-person action-adventure game is highly technical, and seemed difficult to squeeze onto the Switch. That indeed is the case, according to a recent interview, as Control for Switch is only possible via cloud technology. Control: Ultimate Edition is available now on Switch, but fans are only able to purchase and play the game through the cloud....

Update: Cuphead has officially been confirmed for release on PlayStation 4, and is available now via the PlayStation Store A PlayStation store page leak could mean Cuphead will show up on the console very soon. This indie title stuck out for having an incredibly faithful visual style to cartoons seen around the 1930s. StudioMDHR began work on the game in 2010, but it wouldn’t be released until 2017. Cuphead’s high level of difficulty contributed to its massive success, leading to a Netflix animated show called The Cuphead Show!...

For some players, immersion is everything in games like Cyberpunk 2077, and for that reason, it can be extremely frustrating to walk around with weapons drawn, loaded, and ready to fire in the wrong situations (that is, unless the game glitched and gave all NPCs guns). Thankfully, there is a way to holster one’s weapons, but the game doesn’t make it entirely clear on how to go about doing this....

Think of Cyberpunk 2077’s world of Night City like a boxing match. V will have plenty of opportunities to dish out punishment with an array of assault rifles, grenades, sniper rifles, and daemon hacks. The next question then becomes, “Sure, but can you take a hit?” Because the city hits everyone who lives there and it’s more than just a little love tap. Even on the most difficult settings, by the end of the game, you’ll have found more than one weapon that kills enemies with a single headshot....

With the game so close to the finish line, players are still speculating about many aspects of the game including lore, characters, gameplay, and the story. Yet one developer on the game decided to tease a very specific sect of the fanbase, specifically the trophy and achievement hunters. Despite it still being two months until Cyberpunk 2077 hits its November 19 release date, the game’s platinum trophy has been achieved....

The Houston Outlaws have had sparse success since the inaugural season of the Overwatch League, with their 2020 campaign being arguably the weakest yet. Despite that, the Outlaws had some talent on their roster and being able to keep some of that for 2021 seemed key. They released a few players already this offseason, but the Outlaws recently confirmed that Dante “Danteh” Cruz would be returning for the upcoming season....
