Season 5: Season of the Forge has officially begun in Destiny 2, and with it has come a new game update. That update, 2.1.0, brings some of the changes developer Bungie has been promising, with some other notes that players did not know were coming until the patch went live. While many suspected that Bungie would take this opportunity to nerf some of the best new exotics in Destiny 2 from the Forsaken expansion, the list of nerfs was virtually non-existent....

Destiny 2: Beyond Light brought players a new raid activity with the Deep Stone Crypt, where Guardians learn more of the lore surrounding Clovis Bray and Calamity. The end of the Deep Stone Crypt raid in Destiny 2 sets Guardians against Taniks, and defeating Taniks finishes the raid and gives Guardians a chance at the Eyes of Tomorrow Exotic Raid Rocket Launcher. The Eyes of Tomorrow can only be acquired at the Taniks encounter of the Deep Stone Crypt Raid, making it a rare and elusive weapon for Guardians to acquire....

Season of the Chosen’s third week is upon us, providing a new set of weekly challenges for Guardians to complete. For those unaware, these challenges are Destiny 2’s solution to the FOMO (fear of missing out) caused by weekly bounty grinding. Instead of completing weekly bounties on all three of your characters, this system allows you to complete challenges during any point of the season on any character you please. If you want to earn a large sum of XP, Bright Dust, or upgrade your Hammer of Proving, you’ll need to complete these challenges....

Amid growing criticism and fan backlash over the past two weeks, Bungie sought to create an open line of communication with the Destiny 2 fanbase by releasing a blog post detailing a list of short and long-term goals for the game. Among the list of post-New Year changes is the inclusion of exotic duplicate protection, which will be put in place to reduce the amount of duplicate exotic gear that players receive throughout the game....

Marvel Studios’ Eternals will be helmed by Chloe Zhao, a rising indie filmmaker best known for directing The Rider and the upcoming drama Nomadland. Now, Zhao has recounted how she came to direct one of the more obscure entries in Marvel Studios’ slate of feature films for the Phase 4 era. Final Fantasy 16 was finally revealed at the PS5 reveal event, and fans have been given a glimpse at the game’s main character. Not much is known about this individual yet, as the trailer didn’t even give fans a name, but it did give some insight into his past and his abilities. While all this is great information, some fans can’t help but notice similarities between the unnamed character and Final Fantasy 15’s Noctis....

The Electronic Arts legal team won’t be resting their starters anytime soon. A California federal judge has denied a motion by the mega-publisher/developer to strike down a lawsuit filed against them by a group of retired National Football League players, who allege that Electronic Arts applied their likenesses in Madden NFL 09’s “historic teams” without sanction. The ruling ensures the continuation of the case - filed in 2010 by a group purporting to represent more than 6000 retired NFL players - which accuses Electronic Arts of intentionally using recognizable player likeliness in a “calculated and underhanded attempt” to defer paying them....

With all the talk lately surrounding Cyberpunk 2077 and its performance on consoles and PCs, one YouTuber decided to give the game a try on the Atari VCS. He was ultimately surprised when Cyberpunk 2077 successfully ran on the console, albeit with the lowest settings. Cyberpunk 2077 released on December 10 to mixed reception, with many praising the depth of its world and retro-futuristic soundtrack, while others were shocked at the number of glitches present in the game....

Publisher Spike Chunsoft has announced that Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition will be releasing on iOS and Android on August 20, 2020. Revealed via Famitsu’s website, the new port will come in at 1,960 yen (roughly $18.30). It will also contain similar extras to the previously released Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition, which had a gallery mode and redone touch screen controls. While this doesn’t directly confirm an international release, the previous game hit western marketplaces on the same day as its Japanese counterpart....

Dark Souls 3, and the Dark Souls trilogy by FromSoftware in general, made their mark on gaming culture with rewardingly brutal difficulty and expertly crafted level design and environmental storytelling. Dark Souls 3 appears at first to be a linear experience, but the game rewards exploration and curiosity above all else. In addition to optional bosses that provide new and refreshing challenges, the game also has several non-playable characters, or NPCs, that have specific questlines that can be failed or even missed if the player isn’t aware of them....

The Dark Souls 3 network stress test client has gone live for PlayStation Plus subscribers who signed up, but the real testing doesn’t begin until a bit later. Much like they did with Dark Souls 2 a few years back, developer From Software is set to test the network servers for Dark Souls 3. There were 10 follow-ups to John Carpenter’s seminal 1978 slasher Halloween across four decades before one of them was finally met with critical acclaim comparable to the original. 2018’s Halloween brought back Laurie Strode as a highly trained badass waiting for Michael Myers to return. Thanks to the reboot’s success, director David Gordon Green is expanding it into a trilogy with two back-to-back sequels, Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends. According to Green, Halloween Kills will tackle some pretty timely issues....

Although Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive only just teased that Jigsaw would be the game’s next DLC killer, most are operating under the assumption he is. But in case there was any doubt, a new leak has revealed most of Jigsaw’s abilities and perks in the game and, more compellingly, a unique detail about this character’s iteration. If the leak is real, it appears that Dead by Daylight will be using the female version of Jigsaw, or rather Jigsaw’s protégé seen throughout the early parts of the film series....
