A new app called Doublicat is capable of plastering one’s face onto video game characters, movie scenes, and more. The results of the app, first recorded by VG24/7’s Kirk McKeand, are equal parts unnerving and either hilarious or impressive. For those unfamiliar with the term, this is a process called deepfaking, where a person’s face is put in place of someone else’s using some pretty high-end technology. Though it is often used for harmless and silly things such as this, it has a negative side too....

Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most anticipated games of all time before its December 10th, 2020 release. Even if the game ran fine, it probably would not have lived up to the massive hype. However, it ended up hitting stores as a buggy mess. What works in it is great, but one cannot be blamed for not looking past the embarrassing technical issues. All of those Keanu Reeves memes about his involvement in the game look different now that the highly-awaited title is now considered one of the biggest disappointments of the past ten years....

The gaming community has probably heard enough for now in regards to all of Cyberpunk 2077’s bugs, the apparent upcoming lawsuit for CD Projekt, or its less-than-stellar release. So, let’s talk a bit more about the actual gameplay aspects, such as the Attribute/Perk system. V has five different Attributes they can specialize in, and each one has three separate Perk trees within. The Crafting tree, a part of the Technical Ability Attribute, is one of the more complex systems in the game, and some of the skills players can invest in are like night & day in terms of utility....

Several days ago, CD Projekt Red announced that it would share PlayStation gameplay footage of its upcoming sci-fi RPG, Cyberpunk 2077. Now, the studio just released the preview of the highly-anticipated game giving players a sneak peek at how Cyberpunk 2077 will run on the PlayStation 5. Given that the latest footage is promoting the PS5 version of the game, the trailer swapped back and forth between the PS4 Pro and the PS5, showcasing all the major differences between Sony’s current-gen and next-gen consoles....

Back in 2019, CD Projekt Red announced that Cyberpunk 2077 would no longer support third-person mode. This was widely disappointing to fans who were excited by the 2018 demo, featuring a cutscene of V in their apartment from a third-person perspective. It look liked much of the game was planned with third-person in mind, at the very least cutscenes, but this isn’t the only content that would be cut from Cyberpunk 2077 prior to launch....

Darkest Dungeon will see you delving into the depths of your family estate, encountering various fiends and creatures, and tackling a number of bosses. One of the great things about Darkest Dungeon is that you can customize your party as there is a range of different heroes available, so each boss battle can be made easier with the right setup. One of the bosses you will have to defeat is the Necromancer, who can be encountered in the Ruins....

Behavior Interactive recently announced that it will be putting more effort into both the Anniversary and Halloween events in Dead by Daylight. Events like the Winter Solstice and Lunar New Year will now be treated as “Celebrations,” and will no longer offer players new cosmetics - although you’ll still have access to login rewards, Bloodweb items, and themed assets. The news is not surprising following the disappointing Eternal Blight event, which, despite initially showing promise, suffered from several issues....

Microsoft announces the Dead Rising 4 season pass, which will include a multiplayer mini golf mode, an infected Frank West, and holiday-themed weapons. Most high budget games nowadays release with some sort of season pass that allows consumers to pay in advance for future DLC content. When developers announce a season pass without detailing exactly what fans are getting in exchange for their hard-earned money, it sometimes results in some disgruntled gamers....

Deadly Premonition and D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die developer Hidetaka ‘Swery’ Suehiro comes out of retirement to make horror games with his new studio, White Owls. Deadly Premonition released seven years ago as a budget title. Retailing for just $20 at launch, Deadly Premonition’s poor graphics, weak voice acting, and frustrating controls earned it low marks across the board, but it still developed a cult following for its absurd story, weird characters, and surprisingly strong sense of humor....

Denuvo isn’t exactly a popular term amongst most gamers, but there’s no denying that they’re at the forefront of anti-tamper and anti-cheat technologies. So when a developer needs something to keep their game from getting hacked, Denuvo is probably the first software they’ll turn to. So it comes as little surprise that Denuvo and Sony are teaming up to tackle hacking and cheating. Irdeto (Denuvo’s parent company) announced today that “it has joined the exclusive PlayStation 5 Tools and Middleware program” to bring Denuvo to the next-gen platform....

If you haven’t heard about the recent attacks on Xbox Live users, then you’re either a) luckily not affected or b) not paying attention to the internet. Despite a large amount of people complaining of hacks, Microsoft says that there are no issues with Xbox Live. Over the past few days more and more stories have begun cropping up regarding Xbox Live users being hacked. It seems that many people are finding themselves logging into their accounts to find all of their Microsoft Points drained and that their game history if full of games they’ve never even owned....

Bungie reveals that the return of the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher in Destiny’s forthcoming Rise of Iron expansion is not as powerful as its original version. Although a lot of Destiny fans were practically elated to hear that Bungie was bringing back the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher for the science fiction shooter’s next major expansion, Rise of Iron, the studio may end up alienating some fans with the way in which it reintroduces the weapon....

Ever since Destiny 2: Forsaken released, Bungie has focused on delivering seasonal content updates that add new activities, characters, and loot for players to earn. With Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, Bungie has doubled-down on this approach. Seasons have had a mixed reception from fans, some arguing the activities are boring while others love that content drought hasn’t carried over from the original Destiny. This debate has reached a melting point in Season of the Worthy, with many fans either frustrated with new activities or overjoyed with this season’s build diversity....

Now that the dust has settled over Destiny 2’s release, players are starting to find what weapons work for specific experiences. PvP players have already found that the MIDA Multi-Tool and a good auto rifle are a winning combination in Trials of Osiris, as evidenced by stats from last week’s event, but PvE isn’t so cut and dry. That being said, there is one Destiny 2 weapon that we find is top of its class when it comes to PvE, and it doesn’t matter if it’s something as simple as Heroic Public Events or as intense as the Leviathan raid....

The new Season of Arrivals in Destiny 2 launched in early June, and with it delivered the mysterious Tree of Silver Wings on Io, a part of the weekly Interference quest. While Eris is the main storyteller of these quests, it seems from recent screenshots that the tree is making some interesting changes. Reddit user u/CassinJnr posted some comparison images of how the environment has changed, revealing that the tree has started to turn black....

The launch of Destiny 2’s first expansion is just around the corner and, as players gear up to return to Bungie’s MMO-inspired shooter once more, new information has surfaced regarding the upcoming content’s new planet destination. As previously revealed, Guardians will be heading to Mercury in Destiny 2 this time round, but the destination is smaller than expected and will not allow players to use the game’s iconic Sparrows for transportation....

Destiny 2’s second week of Trials of the Nine was supposed to be on the map Altar of Flame, however developer Bungie decided to quickly replace Altar of Flame with a new map and mode after an exploit was discovered by players. While the first Destiny 2 players into Trials of the Nine did play on the Altar of Flame map, the bug was discovered less than two hours after Trials went live and the change was made....

Although most online play doesn’t use as much data as streaming Netflix or YouTube does, some video games burn through a lot of users’s data. While there are a bunch of video games that require large data usage, Destiny 2 is a particularly bad offender. The biggest data drains come from downloading games or updates, as one might expect. When it comes to how much data users are using when they’re just playing games, the numbers vary depending on the game....

Bungie’s Destiny may very well be one of the best games of the last year, but that’s largely due to its polished graphics and tight mechanics. It’s well established among many fans that the game falls flat in other key areas, including a ho hum story that feels like background noise at best. Whether you blame the fact that the story may have been changed prior to release or that phoned in performance from everyone’s favorite Game of Thrones actor, the end result is the same....
