Forsaken is bringing a slew of changes to the Destiny 2 when it launches next month, including an overhaul of the mod system in-game. With weapon mods being reworked, Bungie is doing away with elemental mods, which means players will no longer be able to change the elements of their weapons once the weapon drops. This will be a return to form for Destiny veterans, as players will likely need to rely on random rolls to get the element they want....

These days it seems as if controversy loves Bungie. While the Curse of Osiris expansion for Destiny 2 has seemingly left fans lukewarm, many have been outraged over certain endgame activities having been locked behind the DLC paywall even though they were previously available to everyone. Keeping with its promise to be more open with fans, Bungie has issued a statement confirming that the studio is fixing the problem with today’s hot fix update....

Not even two weeks into the new year, and the video game industry has already been rocked by a shocking announcement in 2019. Bungie and Activision are splitting up, with Bungie retaining control over its sci-fi shooter franchise Destiny. Many wonder what this split will mean for Bungie’s future and the future of Destiny, with research firm Cowen & Company putting forth the opinion that it will see Bungie launch Destiny 3 at some point in 2020....

Speaking of which, yet another Guardian has put together some fresh fan generated content, as the Redditor known as Nuclearsheep has created a House of Wolves cinematic cutscene that’s meant to work as an epilogue to the DLC for the science fiction shooter....

Capcom announces Teppen, a new digital card fighting game that stars characters from several of the company’s biggest series. The game has characters such as Street Fighter brawler Ryu and Mega Man, the protagonist of the eponymous sci-fi shooter and platforming series. After sending out invites to influencers to play a secretive game called “Project Battle,” Capcom has now officially announced Teppen. Available on iOS and Android devices, Teppen features real-time battles with cards of various characters from Capcom series....

As we plunge into the festive period, Q1 2021 doesn’t seem that far away. Monster Hunter Rise, accompanied by a slew of other games, are ready to burst the seams of next year’s release calendar, and we’ve now received new weapon trailers from Capcom. The first trailer reveals the powerful Gunlance, which looks like a handy weapon for jousting with one hell of a kickback. The trailer shows the hunter’s armor which matches the skin of the Gunlancer - both sporting Palamute colors....

It was two years ago that the promise for Carrion was first given. The premise was simple and brilliant: in Carrion, players are the monster. Now Carrion is officially unleashed, and it has delivered on its premise. Players take on the role of an amorphous mass of flesh, eyes and teeth straight out of a Lovecraft story. The monster’s goal is to escape the confines of the base where it awakes, devouring foolish humans along the way....

It’s been quite the week for CD Projekt. On top of a disappointing first financial quarter, the stolen source code from earlier this year has come back to haunt the company, as previously unseen footage from Cyberpunk 2077 has surfaced online. The latest clips to be made public are a little more unexpected, however. Around the time of release last December, bug compilations were all the range. The Blu-ray for Interstellar, the latest epic from Christopher Nolan, is out now, and there is still much to discuss. Indeed, if one gets past the mechanics of the ending, it can be a downright spiritual experience… End of Days, the Day of Judgment, Gozer the Gozerian or whatever else you want to call it, since the dawn of man we as a species have often wondered how that time would come to a close....

An old interview with Yasunori Mitsuda has been translated and it reveals that Chrono Trigger was almost scored by Kenji Ito And Nobuo Uematsu. Chrono Trigger is considered to have one of the best soundtracks of all time, which is no small claim, especially when compared to its cousins in the Final Fantasy series. The people at Square Enix (then known as Squaresoft) managed to squeeze every bit of power out of the Super Nintendo, in order to craft some of the most impressive games of any era, and the soundtracks were no exception....

Remedy Entertainment’s latest title Control has been kicking up a storm since being released in 2019, gathering a plethora of high review scores and being nominated for numerous awards. Its popularity is likely the reason it was ported to current gen consoles, with a recent Xbox Series X patch being released to fix some issues. Now it appears that a PC update will likely be making fans equally happy. Upon release, Control was able to support both DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 on PC though following a post-launch update, support for DX11 was unfortunately removed....

The action-adventure RPG Alchemist Adventure recently moved to Steam’s Early Access ahead of it’s impending official release. Developer Bad Minions has stated they plan on a 6-month Early Access period, which means we may expect to see Alchemist Adventure fully in play by the end of the year. A recent new content teaser post on the game’s Steam community page explained that development is going well, with bugs being fixed and new adventure chapters being worked on....

The Batman is set to debut Robert Pattinson’s all-new Dark Knight at theaters in early 2022, after which it will be complemented on the small screen—under the creative stewardship of the film’s director, Matt Reeves—by HBO Max’s untitled prequel television series focused on the Gotham PD. While speculation over crossover potential has been permeating ever since the series was announced, HBO’s Casey Bloys seems to (ever so slightly) open the possibility of an appearance from the Dark Knight himself....

Proving that there’s no escape from the latest craze, Crash Bandicoot fidget spinners are now available to fans. The promotion comes ahead of the release of the Crash Bandicoot N’ Sane Trilogy on PS4 this week. A promotion from GameSpot Ireland is currently doing the rounds on social media in which the retailer is offering a free fidget spinner to players who trade games in to get the Crash Bandicoot N’ Sane Trilogy which launches on PS4 tomorrow....

There is really no questioning Final Fantasy 7’s legacy. The game is a landmark, historical release that played a big role in the console war between PS1 and Nintendo 64, and remains one of the most highly praised Japanese role-playing games of all time. Final Fantasy 7 has millions of fans around the world and is even popular enough to warrant a full-fledged remake, but some fans take their love of the game a little too far - as was the case with the people from the famous “Final Fantasy House” story that was popular on the Internet in the mid 2000s....

Cyber Shadow is a new 2D action sidescroller that comes from Yacht Club Games, the creators of the iconic indie character, Shovel Knight. The game pays homage to classic titles such as Ninja Gaiden and Mega Man, and even though it was mostly developed by one person, the game has managed to make a name for itself, receiving lots of positive reception.
