In the opening moments of Dario Argento‘s Phenomena, a young traveler stumbles through the woods, abandoned by her tour bus. She finds a house and enters, looking for help. That’s a mistake. A serial killer stabs the teenager repeatedly with a pair of scissors, then shoves her through a second-story window. It’s a brutal and strange beginning to an even stranger movie, and it’s a perfect jumping off point for one of Argento’s best films....

Based on a graphic novel by Viktor Kalvachev, Blue Estate follows the story of psychopathic mobster Tony Luciano as he seeks to kill pretty much everything that moves in the Mafia underworld. It’s an on-rails shooter built specifically for motion controls, and is slated for an upcoming release on the Xbox One. The game isn’t actually new to consoles entirely, though - the PlayStation 4 has played host to the game since last summer, and the reviews have condemned the game to a failing grade....

Asymmetric survival horror title Dead by Daylight has received a new archive to progress the mystery within the multiplayer game. Canadian developers Behaviour Interactive announced the archive’s release that is available today. Titled “CONVICTION,” the fourth Tome for the game will grant players access to the memories of Meg Thomas, The Wraith, The Hag and Ace Viscoti. CONVICTION will also come with new story-related apparel and character charms. To celebrate the release of Tome IV, a sale will be active between July 29 and August 5, giving 30% off main characters Ace Viscoti and The Hag....

Death Stranding creator Hideo Kojima reveals the names of all the characters in the game. The characters played by Guillermo del Toro, Mads Mikkelsen and Lea Seydoux have all been named, as well as some brand new characters shown in the new Death Stranding trailer. The player character is Sam Porter Bridges who is played by Norman Reedus. In Death Stranding trailers, players have seen the character of Sam in tense conversations, trying to hide from supernatural creatures, and traveling across the landscape....

Death Stranding developer Hideo Kojima has previously teased that the game’s multiplayer will offer “something different.” However, while the veteran game designer called multiplayer a “big part” of the game, Kojima has kept quiet in regards to exactly what it will involve. There is new evidence that Kojima and the development team at Kojima Productions are preparing to unveil the game’s multiplayer - or at least that the studio is making good progress on it....

The Taken King became available to play on September 15th, introducing players to plenty of new missions, Guardian subclasses, weapons, and armor. Whilst there’s no shortage of great new content within the expansion, the real cream of the crop was the much-anticipated new raid called the King’s Fall, which Bungie stated would be the largest Destiny raid fans will have ever seen. The original game released in such a bizarre state that Bungie fans dug deep into promotional material and leaks to figure out what happened. Unsurprisingly, a shocking amount of content from the first game was cut. What some fans might not realize is that Destiny 2 also has a surprising amount of cut content. Rebooted 16 months before the game released, there are a plethora of leftover assets and audio files that reveal a different direction for the sequel....

After news broke that game publishing giant Activision holds a patent for a system that encourages players to buy cosmetic items based on matching them with other players in multiplayer settings, gamers understandably expressed outrage at such a system in the games that they play. While the patent never mentioned any specific games, some wondered whether it was currently active in any Activision-published titles, like Destiny 2. However, it wasn’t long before Bungie set the record straight and confirmed that the matchmaking algorithms in question do not appear in any Destiny game:...

After a slight delay, the day many fans have waited for is finally here as Destiny 2 arrives on PC. Part of the appeal of the PC remains the impressive 4K visuals paired with uncapped frame rates, something fans aren’t used to considering the hard 30 frames per second cap on consoles. This week at E3, Destiny developer Bungie is talking the game’s next expansion, Rise of Iron, and has given a few more details about its upcoming raid. Destiny is not making a big show at E3 this year. It was absent from Sony’s press conference on Monday night, where it has appeared the previous three years. But while Destiny and its new fall expansion, Rise of Iron, is not playable at the show, many developers from Bungie are present to talk about what’s next in the Destiny universe....

A CD Projekt official has confirmed that the the majority of the CD Projekt RED development staff has switched their focus to Cyberpunk 2077 instead of The Witcher 3 DLC. It’s been a great year for CD Projekt RED, a studio which saw their latest Witcher title receive very favorable reviews and generate plenty of fan interest in downloadable content. Of course, that’s not the only thing the studio has had on the burner these last few years: Cyberpunk 2077 has been in development for some time now, although the studio has remained very tight-lipped on the subject....
