Lucasfilm and Disney have applied for a new trademark for something called Star Wars: Rivals. Virtually nothing is known about what Rivals could be, but it could possibly be related to one of the many Star Wars games in development. The trademark was first spotted by Star Wars fan site The Star Wars Post and searching for Star Wars: Rivals within the trademark database on the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s website results in two entries....

Sucker Punch, Zack Snyder’s sexified 2011 action-fantasy mashup, hit shortly after the director had come off his ambitious (although reliably divisive) movie adaptation of Alan Moore’s groundbreaking Watchmen comic title. With the director having notably made waves behind the camera for 2004’s Dawn of the Dead and 2006’s 300, Snyder’s perceived genre gravitas—and imagery of scantily-clad women with swords and guns—was a clear selling point. While the film flopped, a recent reveal has, curiously, ignited fervor for a Sucker Punch Snyder Cut....

Last month, it was announced that Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time would be coming to Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch, with a PC port slated to debut on Battle.Net following their release. The array of console ports are available right now, with Activision posting a trailer celebrating the game’s success and advertising the new versions. However, the promo is capped off with an announcement concerning Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time’s PC release, revealing that the upcoming port will release on Battle....

Homefront easily wins the award for most hyped new IP of 2011. Though the story-based shooter received generally solid reviews (check out Game Rant’s Homefront review) and sold fairly well, it didn’t hit the heights publisher THQ had hoped for. In fact, post release, the publisher’s stock plummeted 21%. A change appeared to be in order, and THQ parted ways with original developer KAOS Studios. Nevertheless, THQ vowed that the series would live on, and just today Homefront 2’s new developer has been identified....

Right on the heels of Patch 1.03 comes yet another hotfix for Cyberpunk 2077, which continues to suffer from a whole host of glitches and bugs across all platforms. Patch 1.04 has already rolled out for PlayStation consoles and PC, addressing all kinds of issues plaguing quests, visuals, and overall performance. At the time of writing, the patch Xbox consoles hadn’t rolled out yet, although CD Projekt Red promised that it is “working to have the update out as soon as possible....

The majority of tabletop gaming groups use battle maps and minis in order to coordinate the combat encounters. A grid with small plastic minis is the preferred method of judging distance and area of effect for many gamers and RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder accommodate this style of play. Dauntless has quietly rolled out endless Behemoth hunts in a new Experimental mode available to select players. For those who received an invitation to participate through the in-game mail, the new Experimental mode is a sort of beta testing area where progress does not transfer to a main account in Dauntless. Once logged in, players will have access to a limited set of basic, level six weapons and armor, as well as a few Cells....

Asymmetric survival horror Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer experience with one killer who must stalk, hook, and sacrifice four survivors to The Entity. One of the best aspects of this long-running online game is the plethora of killers. The killers in Dead by Daylight play in first-person perspective whereas the survivors play in third-person. It’s a nice gameplay shift, depending on which side you are on. Easily one of the best and most creative killers is The Huntress, an axe and hatchet-wielding woman who stalks survivors with her animal mask, all while humming an eerie song that she grew up listening to....

Hideo Kojima’s intellectually dense Death Stranding, which stars actor Norman Reedus in the lead role of Sam Bridges, is arriving on PC to more critical praise. The open world action game was a timed exclusive for PS4, but now that the exclusivity contract has come and passed, PC players now have a chance to dive into the mind of Kojima. Death Stranding’s convoluted but interesting world is classic Kojima, in that it poses a lot of odd philosophical questions but remains compelling all the same....

Fans of Sony and Bluepoint Games’ Demon’s Souls remake may have noticed a new update rolled out yesterday, and with it comes good news: invaders can now skip the Old Monk cutscene each time you get summoned. Now running at version 1.004.000 and coming in at 7.75GB, it’s quite a hefty update when compared to previous stability patches but as of yet, Bluepoint hasn’t offered an official list of patch notes....

Nearly 30 years after the original Zombies Ate My Neighbors for the NES, the now-cult classic has made a strong impression on genre fans with fun gameplay and minimal plot. Such a strong impression, in fact, that fans are getting ready to rally around a kickstarter for a spiritual successor, spearheaded by HumaNature Studios and Tuned-Out Games. The game, aptly titled Demons Ate My Neighbors, is set to deliver on a new retro-styled universe for some classic, campy horror movie fun....

While many Destiny fans are poring over every facet of the Destiny 2 beta looking for clues about the full game, others are simply enjoying the ride. Developer Bungie has given fans a brief taste of the Destiny 2 experience, from Strikes, to story missions, to PvP. There are also be a few Easter Eggs in there for them to seek out. It may be a short story mission, but Homecoming has offered a lot of info for Destiny 2 hopefuls to digest, especially those that have a longstanding relationship with the series....

Console gamers are already maxing out their light level and mastering end-game fights for Destiny 2 on PS4 and Xbox One, but PC gamers have been stuck on the sidelines so far. After a little more than a month of waiting the time is nearly here and PC players are just a week away from exploring Destiny 2 in 4K with uncapped frame rates. To celebrate the impending launch of the PC version, Bungie has just released a new launch trailer that puts all the focus on the game’s stunning visuals....

With less than a month left until Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion launches, Bungie needn’t do much to build hype. Players have already seen enough to convince them whether or not the expansion is worth purchasing, from improvements to weapon systems and gear, to brand new locations like The Tangled Shore and The Dreaming City. However, that isn’t stopping Bungie from dropping a few teases where possible, like today’s brief looks at The Barons....

The pricing structure for next-gen games is still a bit nebulous, and it seems that Capcom isn’t quite ready to discuss its pricing strategy. In its latest financial results conference call, the company was asked directly about how PS5 and Xbox Series X titles would be priced – and told attendees they would have to “wait for future announcements.” The full response on the English transcript reads, “There is nothing I can talk about at this time....

It seems that Capcom is not content with leaving the activity of beast tracking within Monster Hunter: World, as a new marketing campaign promises that the company will now pay anyone who is able to find evidence of the existence of some of folklore’s most popular monsters. In partnership with Jon Downes of The Centre of Fortean Zoology, Capcom is now offering UK residents a £50 000 ($70 000) cash prize to anybody who is able to provide undeniable proof that one of 10 vastly debated creatures does, in fact, actually exist....

Chadwick Boseman has received his first Golden Globe nomination for his performance in Netflix’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. The late actor, who died following a private battle with colon cancer in August 2020, earned the posthumous nomination in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama category. Having received a lot of praise from the critics for his portrayal of a young trumpet player named Levee Green in the film, with many referring to it as his finest performance, his nomination was expected by a lot of his fans....

Japanese clothing brand Hipshop has released a new line of underwear based on Pokémon, and it’s a bit odd! Fans may “Diglett” this underwear set as it includes six beloved Pokémon from the first generation: Pikachu, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Eevee, Charmander, and Mew. While the positioning of the mouths on the backside is incredibly awkward, the quality of the prints looks great. When you look at the front, it actually gives you a bunch of stats on the Pokemon like height, weight, and the number they’re classified as....
