Demon’s Souls is a technical marvel and one of the best games available that truly showcases the capabilities of the PS5. While playing it, players will find themselves stunned by its incredible visuals and pulled in by the immersive features of the DualSense controller, so it isn’t hard to believe that it’s selling well. To those that didn’t know any better, it may seem hard to believe that Demon’s Souls actually came out back in 2009 for the PS3, as the remake does an excellent job of modernizing it for today’s audience....

Whilst Destiny developer Bungie has been hard at work on the upcoming The Taken King expansion, there has been plenty of trouble within the game’s community. Fans were appalled at the DLC pack’s hefty $40 price tag, and Destiny’s creative director Luke Smith did little to calm players’ nerves when discussing the expansion’s value. All in all, the developer has been given a torrid time of it, particularly when the Collector’s Edition is being shipped for $80....

It has been a big week for Destiny 2. The fourth forge was unlocked, and it was even revealed that Bungie has begun the process of acquiring self-publishing rights from Activision. Despite all of this, Bungie still made the time to release its “This Week at Bungie” update, with one notable reveal being the potential cause for the intermittent GUITAR errors experienced by players in the Last Wish raid. For those unaware, error code GUITAR is a general networking error, sometimes experienced by multiple players at once....

Ever since Bungie announced that the PC version for Destiny 2 would be released by way of Blizzard’s Battle.net instead of Steam, some fans of the franchise have been wondering how region settings on the platform would be handled once the game is released. According to the developer, the PC version of the second game in the series will be restricted by region, restraining Guardians to one specific area while experiencing the title with other players....

Destiny 2 players have plenty to celebrate, as Bungie has announced that loot can be acquired through the use of a new key item this season called the Chalice of Opulence. In the past, random chance played a big role, but it seems like this will no longer be the case. Season of Opulence will begin on June 4, starting with a new raid called the Crown of Sorrow. When the season officially begins, players will be given a quest that takes them back to the Leviathan ship above Nessus, which is a prerequisite to enter the raid....

In contrast to the optimistic heroism that characterized Season of the Dawn, Destiny 2’s Season of the Worthy has been an adventure in doomsday stockpiling and shoveling bits into Rasputin’s cavernous bunkers. Overkill? Maybe not, given that the Pyramids spelling in-universe annihilation are fast closing in on the Traveler and the Last City. Players paying attention to Rasputin’s bunkers in between rushing down the death slide and smashing into his console may have noticed a wall-length panel tracking the solar system....

Lord Saladin makes his season 3 debut this week in Destiny 2, bringing with him a completely revamped Iron Banner as well. For the first session, players will be participating in 6v6 control matches, and this time, actual match statistics will affect what stock Saladin has available. Things like matches played, grenade kills, and Iron Banner rank all contribute to what players can purchase directly. Not only that, a remastered version of the popular Destiny 1 map, Bannerfall, is also making its PvP debut this week....

The latest financial report from Capcom reveals that the company has enjoyed a very successful fiscal year so far. In fact, it has achieved the highest profits for the end of a third quarter in the company’s history, with entries in the Resident Evil and Monster Hunter series’ being primary contributors. The report covers the results of the nine months ending with December 31st 2020. It states that net sales were at 64,867 million (up by 22....

Due to the system’s online capabilities, the Nintendo Switch has also become a surprisingly successful platform for MMORPGs, with many Japanese and western titles finding huge popularity with Nintendo’s audience. With concerns of systemic racism becoming more and more of a mainstream topic, it’s of little surprise that more mainstream companies would start and continue to address such issues. Cartoon Network is only the latest to do so, and now they’ve tackled the idea more directly in 30 seconds than many companies do with 7 days worth of sensitivity training. In a short, barely half-minute PSA posted on Cartoon Network’s TikTok and shared on Twitter, the character Pearl from the network’s immensely popular Steven Universe stands at the head of a classroom pointing out the inaccuracies in American history books that reinforce many cases of systemic racism today....

Released for Steam in November 2011, Cave Story+ is currently available for free on the Epic Games Store until December 10 at 10:00am CST. The game, an enhanced PC version of the original Cave Story, includes a different script than the original English translation. The original Cave Story was developed by Amaya Daisuke, aka Pixel, a Japanese indie game developer. The game, which was critically acclaimed, took more than five years to develop and is regarded by fans as one of the best freeware games of all time....

CD Projekt Red has had to deal with multiple accusations from a number of different sources regarding Cyberpunk 2077’s disastrous launch on PS4 and Xbox One, with the most recent being an insider report written by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier. In the report, CD Projekt Red was accused of ignoring internal warnings about Cyberpunk 2077’s performance issues, showing an entirely fake demo during E3 in 2018, and employees violating company rules by speaking Polish in the same room as non-Polish co-workers....

According to official job listings for CD Projekt Red, the developer’s forthcoming action-RPG Cyberpunk 2077 could potentially feature flying vehicles. With The Witcher 3 generating loads of revenue for the Polish video game developer CD Projekt Red, the studio now certainly has plenty of capital to do practically anything it wants with its next title, which is stacking up to be a near-total departure from its previous release’s medieval-fantasy style that featured the magic-wielding swordsman Geralt of Rivia....

Fans of The Karate Kid movies, and the subsequent Netflix series featuring its antagonist Sensei Daniel LaRusso, are getting a brand new street fighting game in the form of Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues. It releases on October 27, 2020. “Strike first, strike hard, no mercy.” That is the mantra of the Cobra Kai dojo. It is the antithesis to Sensei Miyagi’s zen “Wax on, wax off,” approach. GameMill Entertainment has set out to craft a brand new storyline in the form of 28 story missions featuring both these dojos, and players will have to complete both sides of the story before they can unlock the ultimate ending....

With the Command and Conquer Remastered Collection, developer Petroglyph looks to bring the original game and its 1996 prequel, Red Alert, into the modern era with updated visuals, music, and quality of life changes. However, the collection retains too much of its mid-90s DNA to truly be a definitive experience. Famous streamer and popular music artist Corpse Husband has reached a new level of popularity, as he is now currently emblazoned on a billboard in one of the most coveted advertising spots in the world: Times Square in New York City. When Crysis Remastered was first announced, many fans of the original were indubitably excited. Crysis was once a benchmark title to compare to all other games in terms of graphic quality, spurring many memes of, “but can it run Crysis?” Unfortunately, this is not something that can be said of the remaster, which drops the ball far more often than not.
