The recent Covid 19 spike has resulted in the cancellation of the Capcom Cup. As with many tournaments and events, the Capcom Cup was postponed last year and moved to the US instead of Paris. It was rescheduled for the first quarter of this year, but has now been cancelled all together. Mike Pondsmith, the creator of the Cyberpunk series, has revealed why he chose CD Projekt RED to be the developer of Cyberpunk 2077. The rights to the series had been offered to several different studios, said Pondsmith, but only CD Projekt RED was able to show him that it would do a good job. Speaking to Video Games Chronicle, Pondsmith said that CD Projekt RED is made up of “fans” of the Cyberpunk series who grew up playing the popular Cyberpunk 2020 board game....

Dead Space 2 director Wright Bagwell has reflected on the game’s infamous needle scene that takes place near the end of the game’s story, admitting how he could “barely watch it” himself. The scene saw gamers guide a needle into Isaac Clarke’s eyeball in order for him to receive information on the creatures he had been encountering throughout the story. Bagwell confessed he wasn’t heavily involved with writing the game’s dialogue or story before explaining how the needle scene takes its basis from children’s nursery rhymes....
According to Deadpool’s creator Rob Liefeld, there are currently no plans for Deadpool 3 at Marvel. After Fox merged with Disney in 2019, the idea of mutants joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe was exciting, but now they could leave out a popular character. In an interview with Inverse, Liefeld said he was unsure if the characters from the X-Men franchise would find their way into the Marvel Universe. He praised the first two Deadpool movies, but wasn’t afraid to admit that even if Marvel began working on the next film now, it would still take about four years to complete....
