As a series, Sid Meier’s Civilization has had a rather unique view of humanity. Though it glories in our diversity and celebrates our greatest achievements Civ is, at heart, a cutthroat game. The latest installment, Civilization VI, is no exception, and its new expansion, Gathering Storm showcases both humanity’s greatest achievements and the enormous prices at which they are won. Gathering Storm is Civilization VI’s second expansion, adding expanded diplomatic options, new civilizations, a new Future Era, and dynamic environmental effects modeling everything from volcanic eruptions to drought to climate change....

Mortal Kombat X may have only been unleashed upon fans a week ago, but plans for its post-launch DLC have been common knowledge for some time. However, based on files found in the game’s Steam database, it seems that there might be content on its way that hasn’t yet been officially announced. While the newest instalment in the long-running series establishes a host of brand new characters, it also pays homage to the klassics....

Systemic Reaction, which is part of Avalanche Studios Group, has announced the release date for its new PvE multiplayer FPS. Second Extinction is set on an Earth which has succumbed to a new ice age, and the dinosaurs have returned to rule. The game was originally scheduled to release in September, but the studio has confirmed Early Access on Steam starts October 13th. Up to three players will have to cooperate to traverse the hostile wilderness, fighting off Styracosaurs, which the devs call Bulls, and other vicious reptiles on their way to their mission objective....

2020 was a heck of a year, but now that 2021 is finally here, the Cotton franchise is celebrating its 30th anniversary. In celebration of this momentous accomplishment, a new website is launching with details about the franchise’s future and its upcoming 2021 title. Among the news is an official release date for a reboot of the series’ very first entry, Cotton: Fantastic Night Dreams. For those unfamiliar with the Cotton franchise, it is a series of shoot ’em up video games that originated in 1991 with the release of Cotton: Fantastic Night Dreams....

While the game can be quite glitchy at times, players are still already trying to get every achievement in Cyberpunk 2077. Some of these are easier than others but one of the trickiest involves collecting 20 tarot cards to receive “The Wandering Fool” achievement. Namco Bandai takes steps to stop hackers from ruining Dark Souls 3, but also penalizes innocent players who have simply crossed paths with invading hackers. Dead by Daylight is known for its vast array of unique killers and even licensed property killers such as Pyramid Head and Freddy Krueger. While the main gameplay goal for the killers is to down all of the survivors in order to put them on a sacrificial hook that sends them to The Entity, each killer plays quite differently....

Few AAA games of recent years are as unique or as divisive as Death Stranding. Destiny 2 may no longer have the Grimoire (the outside-the-game lore from Destiny 1 ), but that’s because lore can now be found inside the game itself. In-game lore is something fans have asked for ever since Destiny first launched in 2014 and developer Bungie listened, finding a new way to deliver lore without players leaving the game. At PAX West, Destiny 2 game director Luke Smith detailed how exactly it works in regards to lore associated with weapons and armor....

Destiny 2’s Season of the Drifter contains a new hand cannon that is growing popular among players called Spare Rations. While there are a couple of sources where the hand cannon can drop, a new farming method for the Legendary hand cannon has been found and looks to be quite effective. It all revolves around the Reckoning game mode - more specifically, the Tier 3 version of the new mode, which was released this past Friday, March 15th....

In preparation for the launch of Destiny 2 on September 8, developer Bungie has resurrected its studio-focused podcast and shared some general tidbits about the sequel. Obviously, the devs aren’t going to be able to say much, but they did confirm that Destiny 2 is in a playable state and many members of the team are “playing the s*** out of it.” No doubt fans will be jealous of those developers currently playing Destiny 2 at home, but the important detail is that the sequel is in a playable state....

This week has been an exciting one for Bungie, as Destiny 2: Beyond Light has finally launched and brought with it new content for players to explore. However, new content brings new problems, and those have kept Bungie busy amidst requests from players. Still, the developer has already outlined plans to honor one of the more common complaints within Destiny 2: Beyond Light - the limited weapon loot pool. One of the recent critiques coming to Destiny 2 over the last week is that the loot pools, especially those related to world drops, are too limited....

With the very successful open beta having wrapped up a couple weeks ago, Destiny 2 is quickly approaching its release date on consoles. Things got even a little more real as the Entertainment Software Ratings Board has finally rated the game, a sign that a title is officially nearing release. While some ESRB ratings have occasionally given fans hints at plot points, the rating for the forthcoming shooter appears to be pretty similar to what fans saw and heard from the first title....
