As Microsoft’s premier franchise, you’d think that Halo Infinite would have been out a year or two ago. Halo is the name most associated with Xbox and it is always the title that drives sales of Microsoft’s console. What took developers 343 Industries so long with this latest game? As it turns out, the fan reception of Halo 5: Guardians is the reason Infinite has been gestating for longer. In a video posted by industry pundit Alanah Pearce, she spoke with some members of the dev team and found out that Infinite was delayed to prevent the same issues that fans had with Halo 5 from happening again....

On its official Twitter page, Crying Suns announced that it currently had more than one million players on mobile and PC. “Hooray Fellow Space Explorers! You are now more than 1M Players on @CryingSuns! That’s a lot of Idaho’s clones drifting in deep space… A LOT😱 #indiegame,” the tweet read. A tactical rogue-lite game developed by Alt Shift and published by Humble Bundle, Crying Suns was released on September 19, 2019, on Windows and macOS, and on June 25, 2020, on iOS and Android....

This week, most game developers celebrated Valentine’s Day by releasing new cosmetics (Apex Legends) or by hosting special events (Pokemon GO). Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt RED also wanted to get in on the fun, and the resulting Valentine’s Day message has fans speculating wildly. The free-to-play version of Dead or Alive 6 has arrived with an updated credit system to let you unlock the character costumes that you want. Dead or Alive 6 arrived on March 1st for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC (on Steam, natch) with updated sweat and blood effects, visible damage as fighters get beaten up during a round, and slow-motion impact effects that are slightly reminiscent of Mortal Kombat, but without the whole “seeing someone’s spine snap in half and then make a blended smoothie out of all their internal organs” thing....

The Metro series is somewhat of an oddity. Video games based on comics and film properties are a dime a dozen but video games based on books are a rare thing. Rarer still are western games that are set outside the perspective of American or English protagonists. Adapted from Dmitry Glukhovsky novella, the Metro series is set in a bleak post-apocalyptic Russia allowing the players to navigate a nuclear wasteland infested with enemies and mutants....

Deimos: Arcana is already out on all of Warframe’s various platforms except for the PS5, so really, this is just the next-gen console catching up. Digital Extremes hopes that future updates like Arcana can arrive on all platforms simultaneously in 2021, but the next-gen update for PS5 delayed things slightly for Sony’s latest console. As a reminder, Deimos: Arcana adds a ton of features to the recent Deimos open-world expansion, including new weapons, new augment mods, a new Necramech, and four new underground levels along with their associated Isolation Vaults....

After having just been released, Destiny: The Taken King’s new hard mode for the game’s King’s Fall raid has been conquered in slightly more than an hour. As of 10:00 AM PT this morning, Destiny: The Taken King’s hard mode for the King’s Fall raid became available to Guardians everywhere. Now, after a little more than an hour’s effort, one clan known as Forever LivE has already gone on to beat the harder version of Destiny’s aforementioned campaign, and is the first team to do so....

Players who logged into Destiny 2 after the weekly reset today were surprised to see the Hollowed Lair Nightfall Strike available once again. Due to what is likely an issue with the weekly rotation, this particular Nightfall has remained for several weeks now. Today, Bungie confirms it is investigating the situation. Nightfall Strikes in Destiny 2 not only offer brave Guardians a greater challenge, but also greater rewards. Each week, players have a shot at scoring powerful equipment and exclusive rewards depending on which Nightfall is available....

Update: According to Bungie, Forsaken items dropping early is apparently an issue and not intentional: Original story follows: With only a week left before the biggest update arrives for Destiny 2 since it launched last year, players received the first round of massive changes coming in Year 2. Destiny 2 has had another big patch, which you might see in your downloads list as being 2.14, but this is actually version 3.1.1 according to Bungie, and should hopefully bring a number of fixes and solutions to your favourite free to play looter-shooter. We’ve seen a fair few issues crop up in Destiny 2 lately, including the Trials of Osiris being disabled - multiple times. Though with each new patch players are hoping that their troubles are over and they will be able to once again play Destiny 2 as intended: without difficulty....
