Capcom announces that an upcoming update for Dead Rising 4 will introduce two new difficulty modes to the title, along with a free timed demo of the game. The return of Frank West in Dead Rising 4 brought with it plenty of quips about covering wars and a copious amount of in-game selfies, and the game itself delivered an entertaining adventure throughout the fictional town of Willamette. Capcom Vancouver decided to shake up the series by removing timed events this time around, a feature which some think removed too much of the series-staple sense of urgency, resulting in a comparatively unchallenging playthrough....

When it comes to Destiny’s exotic vendor Xur there are good weeks and there are bad weeks, but usually there is at least one redeeming quality to his exotic selection. This week, however, we have very little good to say about the exotics Xur has on offer, but completionists out there might want to take a look anyway. Neither the pinnacle PvP activity that Destiny 2 players knew as Trials of the Nine nor a revamp of Destiny 1’s Trials of Osiris are coming to the game as part of this fall’s Shadowkeep expansion. And while developer Bungie has yet to give an estimate of when the mode may finally return, it sounds like Trials won’t be in Destiny 2 anytime soon. During the reveal livestream on June 6th - in which Bungie revealed the Shadowkeep expansion, the free-to-play Destiny 2: New Light, and explained its goals for Destiny 2 in the future - Destiny Game Director Luke Smith was asked when Trials would return to the game....

Destiny 2’s newest expansion, Beyond Light, is filled with new story, quests, and gear for Guardians to collect. The Beyond Light expansion, which took Steam’s top two sale slots this week, added a new quest called Hunter and the Hunted. In this quest, Guardians have to help Osiris to avenge a friend’s death on the Moon. Warning: Story Spoilers Ahead. In a surprise move on Bungie’s part, it killed Osiris’ Ghost, Sagira off-screen, making some fans rather upset at the lack of even a cutscene in her honor....

Destiny 2 developer Bungie has confirmed what players have suspected since right after launch, multiple characters of the same class are prevented from leveling too fast. Each class is limited to one week’s worth of powerful rewards, and the remaining rewards collected on other characters will not be upgrades. For those who might be a little confused, it works like this. If a player has two Hunters, and they complete all of their Milestones on one of those Hunters each Powerful Reward will be an improvement and of a higher power level....

The original story can be found below.] It’s time for Destiny 2’s weekly maintenance and this time Bungie’s MMO-inspired shooter will be down for an estimated total of four hours. The servers are scheduled to go offline at 8AM PT/ 11AM ET/ 3PM GMT and will be available again at approximately 12PM PT/ 3PM ET/ 7PM GMT....

In the first Destiny, Public Events were a smart idea with a flawed execution. Because players never knew exactly when a Public Event would trigger (without using outside sites for reference), it was rare for a player to seek one out. And once players reached a certain status in the game, the incentive to complete Public Events was very low. Destiny 2, however, is taking a simpler approach to Public Events, making them easier to find and better suited to the emergent gameplay approach Bungie promised in 2014....

Destiny 2: Beyond Light has multiple ways for players to make their gear and armor builds unique. From looking for specific stat rolls for a certain playstyle to min-maxing energy for different mods, Destiny 2 has plenty of options to keep Guardians engaged. One of the more powerful mod sets Guardians can use are the Warmind Cell Mods such as Sheltering Energy. Unlike Seasonal Mods, the Warmind Mods do not expire at the end of the season....

Unannounced by Bungie, fans discover a hidden feature in Destiny’s Crucible mode that allows players to waive heavy ammo from spawning during an Elimination match. Destiny’s developer Bungie is usually good about giving detailed patch notes when a new update hits its shared-world shooter. There was that time when skill-based matchmaking was stealth implemented, and there’s always some minor quality of living changes that are unknowingly either omitted on purpose or by mistake....

In a surprising announcement, developers CD Projekt Red announced via Twitter that the highly-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 would be delayed an additional 21 days until December 10. This comes as a bit of a shock as the game has already gone gold and fans were assured that the game would suffer no further delays. However, what may be more shocking than the delay is that the developers working on the game may have found out about the delay at the same time as everyone else....

Code Vein is an action RPG from Bandai Namco that came out in 2019. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic cityscape where the survivors, all bio-engineered vampires called Revenants, attempt to survive while not being tainted by the Miasma and becoming one of the Lost. It draws a lot of inspiration from Dark Souls and definitely falls under the category of Soulslike albeit with a lot of anime stylization. As an action RPG with a high difficulty curve, players are definitely going to have to pick a build that works best for them....

The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was a great gift for platforming fans, reviving a series that was famous for its unique levels and challenging gameplay. These remakes brought all of that difficult back, but by adding Crash Bandicoot 3’s time trials to the first and second games, they added a whole new set of hard tasks for both new and nostalgic players. Beating the N.Sane Trilogy and finding all the collectibles is hard enough, but beating each level incredibly fast while hitting time boxes is a task that few gamers could complete easily....

With Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy having just recently released for PS4, it’s safe to say that excitement for the once-PlayStation mascot is at an all-time high, especially with the compendium’s sales in the UK having recorded the best week of any single-platform release in 2017 after its first week of availability in the region. Now, in order to capitalize on the hype for the cartoon marsupial, the toy and model manufacturer First 4 Figures has officially announced that it plans to release a high quality hand-painted statue of the games’ protagonist....

Crytek is hiring, and it looks to be for a mysterious unknown title. According to a recent job posting, Crytek is looking for someone to work in its Frankfurt, Germany based studio on an unannounced AAA project. This person would have a rather major role as The Game Director and Lead Game Designer. Along with being wanting someone who has multiple years of experience in game design and has shipped 1+ video games (preferably an FPS), Crytek is looking for someone who has “sandbox” game experience, which leans more towards exploration and freedom....

With almost three months since the initial release of Cyberpunk 2077, the game is still far from being perfect and meeting everyone’s expectations. Thankfully, as is often the case, the player community has stepped in to provide some help. Although initially the game was not supposed to be open to modding, the decision to open it up for the community by CD Projekt Red was applauded. Although the game hasn’t been out for long, there’s already quite a few amazing mods that completely change the game or tweak it just the right way to fix its most annoying details....

Rarely is a game simply named after a genre, but Cyberpunk 2077 states its ambition right out of the gate by taking the moniker of a popular sub-genre of science fiction. It is an adaptation of a popular tabletop RPG, which itself is heavily influenced by the literary genre. Playing a few hours reveals Night City’s cyberpunk atmosphere. How much it does with the tropes and themes of cyberpunk is up for debate, but at least the world is unmistakably a part of the genre, as evidenced by the ten entries below....

There are several choices that can be made throughout the gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077. Whether it’s in the main story, the love interest that V chooses, or the many different endings to play, they all have different consequences as well as their own spin on the dilemma that plagues the main character. By the time the final arc rolls around, V and Johnny have to make a choice in order to rid themselves of the bio-chip....

CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 will be coming out a bit later than fans were hoping. While the news of a delay from September to November is a shame, CD Projekt Red is sweetening the deal. Confirmed via the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account, all copies of the game will come with some digital “goodies.” These will include the original score, an art booklet, a selection of wallpapers, a digital comic, and surprisingly, the Cyberpunk 2020 Roleplaying game sourcebook....

In an interview with The Gamer, Cyberpunk 2077 quest director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz went in-depth regarding the motivations and lifestyles of a few specific Night City gangs. Specifically, Tomaszkiewicz provided more details on the Mox and the Voodoo Boys, both of which rely on cybernetic augmentations to do their work. Cyberpunk 2077 features a large number of rival gangs, which clash both in their ideals and in the ways they do their work....
