When introducing a villain in a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, many Dungeon Masters choose to introduce them in an unwinnable fight to give them a personal connection to the party. This can give the party a better motivation than pure altruism in defeating the villain and can create a more compelling narrative. Unfortunately, this runs counter-intuitive to how fights in D&D usually go. Microsoft confirms that the first Dark Souls game is coming to Xbox One through Xbox 360 backward compatibility, and will be free to those that pre-order Dark Souls 3. The list of Xbox 360 games playable on Xbox One keeps growing, as Microsoft has now confirmed that the original Dark Souls is being added to the lineup. With E3 2018 just a few days away, rumors surrounding the future of Gears of War have begun to pick up steam. If something is announced, perhaps it might kickstart some details regarding Universal Studio’s cinematic take on the franchise. Dave Bautista, a former wrestler turned actor, is something that has also been following the movie closely since its announcement. While the actor has already made a name for himself playing Drax the Destroyer in a pair of Guardians of the Galaxy movies as well as the box office smash Avengers: Infinity War, Bautista is eyeing another role to add to his resume....

Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld recently made a bold statement claiming that Marvel has no plans for Deadpool 3. Understandably, he seemed pretty upset about this, and although at the time he didn’t seem to have any proof, he has doubled down on his assertions since then. Liefeld created Deadpool back in 1991, and in his most recent statement uses this to his advantage. In reference to Marvel, he claims “If you make this movie [or not], I’m getting a fat check....

Before heading off on their own holiday vacation, Destiny developer Bungie left fans with a little pre-Christmas tease. In addition to confirming that a major update – one that includes at least a few oft-requested features – was on the way, the developer also revealed that they had a special “stocking stuffer” prepared. At the time, we had no idea what the stocking stuffer might be. Some assumed that Bungie had prepared another set of holiday-themed items for players, much like they did for Halloween....

Get ready, Destiny’s Iron Banner event returns Tuesday of next week with Control as the game mode, but the real focus will be on one of its weapon rewards. Just as Destiny players are getting ready to say goodbye to Festival of the Lost, Bungie is set to launch yet another event to take its place. Iron Banner will return for the second time during Rise of Iron and this time things are returning to normal....

While Destiny fans are eagerly awaiting the upcoming Destiny: The Taken King expansion, there have also been some negative feelings about Bungie’s recent choices regarding weaponry. This week, Destiny players can find their favorite exotic weapon and armor vendor Xur in The Reef. The Agent of the Nine doesn’t always set up shop in The Reef, but when he does it makes the effort for Three of Coins or some last minute purchases a little extra. For those who might not know Xur’s Reef hiding spot, he’s fairly easy to find. Spawn into Destiny’s House of Wolves social space, head to the right and down a set of stairs, turn to the right, and Xur will be behind a futuristic door....

The Hive is one of the strangest and most recognizable factions in the Destiny franchise. This race of macabre creatures never ceases to have interesting characters and lore, represented both in lore and in various Destiny expansions. Nokris is one such character, one of the Strike bosses introduced in the Warmind DLC. Following the launch of Destiny 2’s Scourge of the Past raid, the conclusion of the race to World’s First was not without controversy, for it seems as if the members of the Tier1 clan inadvertently took advantage of an error giving them more revive tokens than usual. Destiny 2 fans are buzzing right now about the clan reward system that was implemented in the game last week. There’s suddenly a lot of disagreement and controversy about clan rewards that wasn’t there before, because now that the Leviathan raid has launched, players are discovering that being a part of a clan is paying off in raid gear given to them by the game after their fellow clan mates finish the raid....

Sunsetting might be gone, but its legacy remains for the Moon and Dreaming City weapons. Many consider the Moon weapons to have been taken before their time, having really only been viable in Destiny 2 for just a year. Once sunsetting was sunset, Bungie brought back a few of these weapons with refreshed perks last season, and now it seems that they’re going to finish the job in two weeks....

A major step forward for Destiny 2 has now been confirmed, with Bungie announcing that it will be implementing cross-saves in the action-MMO later this year. Today during a special livestream event in which Bungie detailed its plans going into the future, Destiny 2 game director Luke Smith broke down the company’s design pillars going forward. One pillar is to “play anywhere,” and cross-saves are a major facet of that. Bungie wants players on any platform to be able to shift to any other platform - including PlayStation 4....

Three years after its release, there is still a surprising amount to say about Destiny 2. After a bevy of seasonal updates, the game has become something completely different from its starting point. Yet, even as players view the approaching Beyond Light expansion with skepticism, there are still ties and references back to the game’s origins. The PC version of Destiny 2 will be available exclusive via Battle.net. The Blizzard Entertainment app also hosts the PC versions of games like Hearthstone, World of Warcraft and the hugely popular multiplayer shooter, Overwatch. During the Destiny 2 livestream that took place earlier today, developer Bungie and publisher Activision confirmed that the PC version of the game would use Blizzard’s Battle.net client. In a pre-recorded video, Blizzard co-founder Mike Morhaime revealed that Destiny 2 would use the app “exclusively,” officially making the connected shooting game the first third-party title to be offered via the client....

If there’s one thing that the Destiny 2 community excels at, it’s pushing the game to, and even far beyond, the limits of what its complex set of mechanics lets them do. To that end, there seems to be nothing that players love to do more to test those limits than to jump into the 6-person raid encounters on their own, and walk out with the win. A player by the name of Esoterickk recently took to Destiny 2’s Last Wish raid from 2018’s Forsaken expansion and managed to complete the final two encounters on his own....

With the Destiny 2 servers down today for maintenance, it appears Bungie’s community has turned toward introspection and anxiety during the interim. While Destiny 2 has been well received by veterans and new players alike, the community has begun to worry about incoming downgrades to public events, thanks largely in part to the extreme backlash that has plagued Bungie since players discovered what the Strike and Crucible reward system would be like....

Bungie has talked about making Destiny 2 more welcoming to players and giving clearer direction as to what they should be doing when they play the game. Previously, game director Luke Smith, talked about “one button on the controller” that will allow the game to tell players what to do. It sounds like what Smith was referring to was the newly identified Milestone tab in the menu that will be available in Destiny 2....

Iron Banner is one of Destiny 2’s competitive PvP activities, alongside Trials of Osiris. While Trials of Osiris is an endgame 3v3 activity, Iron Banner is a 6v6 activity featuring PvP modes like Control, Clash, Rift, and Zone Control. These modes began in Destiny 1 and some of them are not yet in Destiny 2; like Zone Control or Rift. Bungie had introduced new weapons for almost every activity in Destiny 2, but one mode that’s been left behind all this time is Iron Banner....
