Hideo Kojima presents a brand new trailer for his mysterious Death Stranding project at The Game Awards 2016, confirming the involvement of Guillermo del Toro. Geoff Keighley kicked off The Game Awards 2016 in style, taking a moment to honor legendary developer Hideo Kojima with an Industry Icon award. Kojima accepted the award in a short, heartfelt speech, and then treated fans to a mind-bending new trailer for his mysterious Death Stranding project, confirming the involvement of celebrated director Guillermo del Toro and actor Mads Mikkelsen....

Destiny 2’s newest annual flagship expansion is just a couple of months away. While there has been no shortage of news, especially regarding the latest Stasis subclass blog series, Bungie may need a bit more to captivate new Guardians to pick the game up when this rolls out. This year, Bungie has a lot to prove more than any other time. Not only is the company self publishing Destiny now, it has outlined a 3 year plan to show its commitment to Destiny 2, beginning with Beyond Light....

The Dawning event has returned to Destiny 2 this month, giving players a chance to cook up some holiday treats. Although the Christmas event has returned a few times to Bungie’s sci-fi looter-shooter, it’s been a little different each year. In 2020 Destiny 2 players will be able to get their hands on new cosmetics, ships and a legendary rifle. Just like last year, players will spend most of the The Dawning grinding ingredients and baking cookies....

With season 5 finally here and the Black Armory opening its doors in just a few days, there’s a lot of new content on the horizon for Destiny 2. Unfortunately, the exotic merchant Xur remains just as he’s been for the past year. Players continue to get year one exotics with customized rolls, which make them slightly more valuable than the pre-Forsaken counterparts. Still, this week’s selection, in particular, is one of the more disappointing selections in quite some time....

Last week, Bungie detailed the sandbox changes coming to Destiny 2 that are designed to speed up the pace of the game, including faster movement speeds, shorter Super recharge rates, and a weapon balance pass. This week, Bungie is talking more about changes coming specifically to a number of exotic weapons that are not being used much by players. Bungie discussed one detailed example of one exotic getting buffed in an upcoming update to illustrate how the developer is treating this design pass at the exotics in Destiny 2....

Destiny 2 holds special events around different holidays of the year. Recently, Guardians were informed that the Valentine’s Day event Crimson Days had been cancelled; in turn, this sparked some questions in the Destiny 2 community about the state of future holiday related events. Bungie then announced the return of Festival of the Lost in unique way. In the March 4 This Week at Bungie, the studio opened up the first ever community vote on what armor Ornaments the community would like to obtain for the upcoming Festival of the Lost....

Destiny 2 players have discovered a glitch in Forsaken’s Last Wish raid that makes it possible to launch one of the raid’s bosses into the air and off the map. The boss in question is Morgeth, the Spirekeeper, the giant Taken ogre who is the third boss encounter of the Last Wish raid. Not only can this glitch be done as a full raid team in Destiny 2, but as shown in the video below, it’s simple to do it as a solo player....

When Destiny 2 was announced and Bungie and Activision confirmed that the game would be coming to PC, those on the platform were delighted as the first Destiny was console-only. But has that hype for the PC version of the game translated into sales and revenue? According to a new report, that hype has very much paid off. A report by industry analysis firm SuperData Research states that Destiny 2 had a “solid release” on PC and that the game has proved to be “very successful” on the platform....

The Cyberpunk 2077 fanbase went a little wild yesterday when news stories started popping up claiming that CD Projekt Red is currently working on multiple Cyberpunk projects. The story suggested that there were actually three Cyberpunk projects in the works, but as many suspected, that was too good to be true. The story originally came from Polish site Bankier.pl, which quoted CD Projekt president Adam Kiciński talking about work on “three Cyberpunk things....

It’s hard to think of many actors more serious and respected than Christian Bale. The Welsh actor has a history of working with some of the most respected filmmakers in the business, starting with his breakout in Steven Spielberg’s Empire of the Sun at just 13 years old. Since then, Bale has earned praise and awards for his intense and mercurial performances in movies such as American Psycho, The Big Short, and The Fighter, the last of which earned him a Best Supporting Actor Oscar....

Late last week, it came to light that publisher Take-Two Interactive was interested in buying out publisher/developer Codemasters for close to $1 billion USD. While nothing had been finalized, it seemed more than likely that the house of Grand Theft Auto would soon be welcoming the DiRT franchise into its ranks. As expected, both Codemasters and Take-Two have now announced that the two companies reached an agreement and a merger will be happening early next year....

Comic-Con is known as one of the biggest pop-culture events in the world. Even the general public gets hyped for the convention now, as Marvel’s Cinematic Universe has found mainstream success. When coronavirus hit North America in 2020, Comic-Con was cancelled. Tickets for the event were either rolled forward to an expected 2021 Comic-Con, or for those who requested it, refunded completely. The 2020 cancellation of Comic-Con even contained set dates for the 2021 event, with almost no doubt that the 2021 convention would go ahead....

Though the season pass content of Borderlands 3 has all been released, the game’s support is far from over. With a second Borderlands 3 season pass currently in progress, players can expect to be causing mayhem in the latest Gearbox looter-shooter for some time. This is good news considering how Borderlands fans have been treated to some excellent DLC over the series’ decade-long history, with fans seeing everything from Secret Armories to the inner workings of a Psycho’s mind....

Mass Effect is more than just one of the most epic and comprehensive sci-fi stories ever told. It’s now also a platform for where video game players can enjoy multiplayer mayhem. While there was some apprehension towards BioWare and Electronic Arts adding such a gameplay element to Mass Effect 3, it was largely successful. This weekend was a shining example of that where BioWare hosted the first community N7 Challenge Weekend where players could jump online and attempt to conquer specific tasks, both on their own and as part of the larger community....

1982’s Blade Runner is often regarded as the greatest earthbound science fiction film of all time. The Ridley Scott and Harrison Ford cult classic certainly makes a very good case. While you can argue for all sorts of great sci-fi movies without space travel (Back to the Future?), it’s tough to find a grounded sci-fi movie quite like Blade Runner in which space travel exists but is never actually depicted. In other words, although space travel is essential to the story of Blade Runner and its fugitive Replicants, we never actually witness it on screen....

The pistols in Cyberpunk 2077 are nothing to scoff at. They may not be as flashy as the average assault rifle, but they do the job right and they do it well. Many of the pistols in the game are incredibly powerful, enough to take down even the toughest of opponents. In fact, when it comes to close-range combat, pistols should be V’s weapon of choice. There are a ton of pistols in this game, but the most worthwhile are classified as iconic....

One of the highlights, or low-lights, of open-world games is the police. Your freedom only goes so far in the virtual world. Slaughter thousands of enemies, shove every kid you see, but don’t you dare even look in the general direction of the NCPD. In Cyberpunk 2077, it takes little to set off the Night City police and get five officers shooting and chasing you down ’til dawn. If you’re already fighting some gang members?...
