Iron Banner returns to Destiny 2 today for the first time in Season 2, bringing with it some inventory changes as well as introducing new armor ornaments and weapons. The base armor sets remain the same as Season 1; however, by completing certain challenges over the course of Iron Banner in Season 2 those extra ornaments will unlock. The overall look of the Season 2 armor ornaments and weapons ins Destiny 2 have shifted things to more of a silver motif, as opposed to the green and gold of Season 1....

Destiny 2’s annual Dawning holiday event is in full swing and this year things are a little different. While past Dawning events have been heavily microtransaction-influenced – built around Eververse – this year players have a few extra tasks to complete. Former Eververse vendor Eva Levante will ask players to “bake” some holiday treats for members of the Tower, but first players must find the ingredients for each recipe. Some are a little obvious based on their name, while others are not....

This week in Destiny 2, the final Seraph Bunker on Io finally opened its doors. Unlike the previous two locations on the Moon and EDZ, Io contained a major storytelling moment. Instead of fighting enemies, players were greeted to an in-game cutscene between Zavala and Rasputin. This segment revealed more of Rasputin’s past and failures during the collapse and signaled a renewed partnership between the Warmind and Vanguard. It’s a moment that certainly delighted fans looking for more lore moments in the PvE side....

The new Eater of Worlds raid lair in Destiny 2 has only been out for a few days and already players are trying new ways to circumvent the base requirements for each encounter. Just this week, less than two days after the release of Curse of Osiris’ new endgame activity, a fireteam of only three people was able to beat the final boss fight with Argos. While some fireteams are still figuring out how best to beat Argos with a full group of 6 players, these elite Destiny 2 PvE players are putting everyone else to shame....

There are many ways to obtain exotic weapons and armor pieces in Destiny 2. One of which is by purchasing them from Xur. Xur, Agent of the Nine, is an exotic vendor in Destiny 2, who comes in every Friday at reset (10 AM Pacific), and brings random exotics, one weapon, and three exotic armor pieces (one or each class). There are a number of locations Xur can found; in the Tower, European Dead Zone, or Nessus, Each week, he’ll be at one of these locations....

Ahead of its first Destiny tournament, the ESL eSports league establishes competitive rules for Destiny, becoming the first official major gaming league to do so. Update: After this story was posted, many Destiny fans noted that the rules used by ESL are identical to those used by Destiny’s competitive “sweats” community. ESL tweeted today, clarifying that its rule set did indeed come from the fans, and specifically credited FarCognitions and his PvPLegends team....

CD Projekt Red is currently keeping itself busy working on Cyberpunk 2077 and many are wondering if the studio will ever return to their first big game franchise, The Witcher. It now seems we have an answer as to whether gamers will be returning to that world again in the future. Warhammer fans got a taste of the next video game adaptation of the 40k universe, as Warhammer 40k: Darktide showed gameplay footage at The Game Awards. We already knew that Darktide will be a four-player co-op game in first-person perspective. This new gameplay shows a lot of slashing and bashing. Making good on rumors swirling all weekend, Cineworld confirmed Monday morning that the biggest movie chain in the UK, and second biggest in the U.S., will be closing its doors for an indefinite amount of time in lieu of the news Friday that No Time to Die was leaving November in favor of next April. Cineworld announced it would be closing all 127 locations in the UK, and 536 Regal Cinemas, beginning on Thursday....

Smack dab in the middle of Disney’s “let’s do live action remakes of every cartoon we’ve ever done” phase, their probably anticipated film Peter Pan and Wendy has officially found its Tinker Bell. Yara Shahidi, best known as Zoey from Black-ish, Grown-ish, and Mixed-ish will play the feisty-ish fairy in Disney’s upcoming-ish live action retelling of the classic-ish story. Shahidi is the latest bit of casting announced for the film, with Jude Law notably in recent talks to take the part of Captain Hook....

While Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War may have been the subject of numerous leaks over the past several months, fans are still excited for the official multiplayer reveal taking place very soon, which will be broadcast over Twitch. Some of the multiplayer was accidentally leaked via another Twitch stream, but the official one will no doubt show much more in terms of maps and modes. Developer Codemasters, the studio behind the Dirt and Formula 1 franchises, has been negotiating with several publishers in an effort to secure an acquisition. Recently, Take-Two Interactive was at the forefront of these discussions, with the major publisher behind series including Grand Theft Auto, BioShock, and Red Dead Redemption making a substantial offer to acquire Codemasters. However, it retracted the offer after Electronic Arts submitted a more lucrative bid. Since then, EA has been the big name looking to bring Codemasters into its stable of studios, and it seems a deal with the company is relatively close to being locked in....

Jacob “Pimp” Winneche, a former CS:GO professional for six years and current broadcast talent has been banned for 35 days from play, and he is being vocal about his frustrations and what he considers an unjust and “beyond stupid” error on the part of the Overwatch system. Plenty can be said about Cyberpunk 2077’s performance on older hardware and all of the other issues this game struggled with at launch, but even the staunchest critics of CDPR’s most ambitious project to date have to admit that Cyberpunk is full of great dialogues and thought-provoking plotlines that more than justify the Polish studio’s reputation as one of the industry’s leaders when it comes to creating narrative-focused games. Some of the very best writing in Cyberpunk 2077 is related to V’s romantic pursuits in Night City....
