The current season in Destiny 2, Season of the Worthy, has a pretty simple narrative setup: the Cabal have set Ghaul’s spacecraft The Almighty on a crash course with the Last City, and the Guardians need the Warmind Rasputin’s help to stop it. While this season has been much more PvP-focused than PvE, mostly due to the addition of Trials of Osiris, the story about The Almighty that has tied into the Seraph Tower PvE events will undoubtedly come to a conclusion in June when the season ends....

Bungie is ready to start talking about Destiny 2’s Season of the Drifter, including the forthcoming wares of what was previously dubbed the Joker’s Wild expansion. These plans include what’s coming both as a free seasonal update to Destiny 2 and new content like Gambit Prime, and The Reckoning exclusive to Annual Pass purchasers. Premium content starts with Gambit Prime, which ramps up the difficulty of Gambit mode, but in a shorter 1-round experience with unique new features....

Chinese social media platform Weibo is set to build a Shanghai-based team to compete in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, according to a report from CSGO2ASIA. The lineup will reportedly be made up of former Invictus and EHOME players. Weibo is a popular social media website in China, reporting nearly 500 million active users in 2019. Concrete Genie developer PixelOpus is hiring for a new, “unique project” which sees the studio working with Sony Pictures Animation. This news comes from a job listing recently uploaded to Twitter by PixelOpus itself. According to the listing, PixelOpus is looking for a Principal Graphics Programmer to work on “a collaboration with Sony Pictures Animation.” The position will apparently specialize in the “graphics functionality of the PlayStation 5” and that responsibilities in the team will be diverse due to its smaller size....

The cult classic Constantine received some love when the ones most responsible for its success came together to celebrate its 15-year anniversary. They dropped some insightful tidbits for fans of the movie in a near hour long panel during Comic-Con@Home. Collider’s Steve Weintraub hosted the virtual panel, emceeing a wide-ranging discussion about Constantine with its principals: actor Keanu Reeves, director Francis Lawrence and producer Akiva Goldsman. They delved deep into Constantine, an early DC comic book movie about an occult detective, that was released in 2005....

Although it seems sometimes that Ubisoft is making it up as it goes along with the Assassin’s Creed franchise, the interconnections between entries are one of its best areas of storytelling. Sometimes these connections are obvious, but sometimes a few pieces of the puzzle are required to figure them out. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla may be no different. Darius is a fine example of this. The goals put forward were to play three million games while unlocking nine million trophies. This wasn’t by your lonesome, since that’d be literally impossible, but rather as a collective. The theme nabbed is dynamic, fading between Ghost of Tsushima, Sackboy, Horizon Forbidden West, and God of War....

Today, a brand new interview between PlayStation Blog and Death Stranding creator and director Hideo Kojima has made its way online, with the developer claiming that the forthcoming game is going to be a “very intuitive” open world action game upon its release. Additionally, Kojima declared during the discussion that the open world aspects of the game will give players “a lot of freedom,” and he also went on to tease Death Stranding’s online mode and a lot more....

Hideo Kojima, the creator and director of the forthcoming video game Death Stranding, confirms that the title is not going to be a virtual reality release. Ever since its reveal with a trailer at E3 2016, Death Stranding has been somewhat of an enigma for most gaming fans who have been following along with the production process of the next video game from Hideo Kojima. Considering the fact that the title was only announced several months ago, Kojima Productions has yet to fully flesh out exactly what the game will contain, but Kojima has been able to say that it won’t be a horror game, nor will it be a VR release....

Video game developer Bungie officially reveals some of the PlayStation 4 exclusive content to release on the platform with Destiny’s Rise of Iron expansion. As developers did with Destiny’s The Taken King expansion, Activision and Bungie will continue to make some content in the science fiction action-RPG exclusive to the PlayStation platform with the forthcoming Rise of Iron DLC. With this being the case, Sony recently revealed details about the materials specific to the PS4 (the next add-on is skipping last generation consoles, so Rise of Iron won’t have anything for PS3), declaring that the exclusives are going to be a quest, a ship, and a Crucible map....

Destiny might be a franchise focused around shooting aliens in the face, but its lore and attention to detail add a layer of depth to the games. From the various alien factions to the way Guardians use their abilities, there is an explanation for virtually everything in Destiny. That is why even a few small inconsistencies can be much more jarring than in other franchises. Most of these stem from Bungie soft-rebooting the IP with Destiny 2....
