We’re now three weeks deep into the release of Destiny: Rise of Iron and thus far things have been going smoothly for the most part. Yes, there was the brief server outage on Wednesday night, but luckily Bungie was able to bring things back online quickly and not too much time was missed....

One new way that Destiny 2 has been keeping fans engaged throughout the Season of the Chosen is with the Seasonal Challenges. Each week, Destiny 2 fans have had 10 challenges to complete to earn extra rewards, though Week 5 is a little different. For Destiny 2’s Week 5 Seasonal Challenges, fans only have eight challenges to complete. However, some of these challenges are noticeably grindier when compared to other weeks, so that may be an explanation as to the lower number....

Last week, developer Bungie launched Black Armory, the first DLC- add-on for Destiny 2 in Year 2. Its key component is an activity called the forge that sees a group of three players taking on two waves of enemies while charging a forge, before eventually defeating a final boss. But while the activity might seem straightforward at first, there are some secrets to be found, like the hidden emblem we detailed previously....

Destiny 2 has long employed in-game messages when an event first begins, but developer Bungie has plans to take that idea and push it further. Soon, players should regularly see messages that alert them to the various events and updates that have occurred in Destiny 2 since last they played. Bungie community manager dmg04 explained that players can expect more of these messages that pop up when logging in. At first, this may not seem much different from what usually appears in Destiny 2, but the example he tweeted contains information about what is happening in the normal cycle of Destiny 2 as opposed to special live events or the start of a new season....

Two of Destiny 2’s best weapons may be a little less so once the game’s Forsaken expansion and accompanying game update launch in just under a month’s time. Those two weapons are the IKELOS shotgun and sniper rifle that players earn through the Escalation Protocol activity. The weapons are not getting a straight nerf so much as they are having some of their flexibility and utility taken away. It’s all a result of the drastic changes Destiny 2’s weapon systems are about to undergo, including redesigned weapon slots, more impactful mods, and random rolls....

After the launch of Forsaken, Destiny 2 players started noticing mysterious plates scattered throughout the solar system that were not there before. It wasn’t until after the Last Wish raid launched that players thought that the plates were important. These plates all feature a random combination of symbols from the Last Wish raid, and now it seems that these plates are used to grant wishes in the raid itself. At the time of writing, not all wishes have been found yet, but from the ones found so far players can skip encounters, grant emblems, and even play the infamous Paul McCartney song from Destiny....

Destiny 2 has revealed a new exotic weapon called Coldheart, which is its own unique weapon type. Coldheart will also come as a bonus to anyone who pre-orders Destiny 2. For anyone who doesn’t pre-order, there’s still hope—it will also be available in the game for everyone at a later date. Coldheart is a weapon that is very reminiscent of Bungie’s past, specifically the Focus Rifle from Halo: Reach. It is a new weapon type called a Trace Rifle, and it fires a solid beam of precision energy....

Capcom and GungHoOnline released a new mobile game on Android and iOS Wednesday, and they’re calling it the “Card Game to End All Other Card Games.” The game, called Teppen, features an assortment of Capcom characters duking it out in a Mortal Kombat-inspired story with a hint of Super Smash Bros. Teppen, formerly known as Project Battle, was first seen last week on Twitch and Youtube when several popular streamers were given a hands-on first look....

As the Witcher 3 has grown older, speculation regarding a possible Witcher 4 game has grown along with it. Its developer, CD Projekt Red, has stated before that it currently has no plans for a fourth game, but that hasn’t stopped fans from asking about it. However, it looks like the developer has well and truly closed the door on the possibility of seeing another chapter added to the story of Geralt....

It’s going to be an exciting week for Destiny players as Bungie is set to release the final major content update known as Age of Triumph. A celebration of sorts, the content including new daybreak strikes, a refreshed Prison of Elders, and the return of older gear from activities like Trials of Osiris and the Iron Banner. One of the biggest pieces to this final content update is the return of every single raid, updated and refreshed for players nearing the maximum light level of 400....

One of 2020’s most highly anticipated titles is undoubtedly CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. The futuristic open-world RPG has been getting major attention since its announcement all the way back in 2013 and the hype has only skyrocketed with the release of The Witcher 3 in 2015. Now, despite numerous delays, Polish developer CD Projekt Red is finally gearing up to launch Cyberpunk 2077 on November 19th on current-generation consoles, with next-generation upgrades following for free sometime next year....

Becoming a raging issue following a number of sexual abuse allegations levied at some of the company’s top talent, Twitch has spent the last few months slowly but surely banning the numerous abusers streaming on its platform. From IAmSpoon and BlessRNG to ZeRo and Warwitch, the bans have been numerous and swift, seeing Twitch addressing the horrific allegations head-on and removing the names from its roster. The latest in these bans came yesterday, with Twitch finally removing Cryaotic after he was accused of grooming young fans back in June of this year....

A new patent filed by EA could potentially speed up bug-fixing in the future, helping developers refine games more quickly. While it’s not hard to imagine all sorts of games that could benefit from such a system, a prime candidate is Cyberpunk 2077, which many deemed virtually unplayable at launch due to its excess bugs. When it first launched, fans derided Cyberpunk 2077 for two main reasons. For one, the game’s story and world did not match the dynamic nonlinear storytelling many had expected....

Video game developer From Software is best known for its challenging, single-player experiences.
