Last year, CD Projekt Red revealed that an “unidentified individual or individuals” gained access to internal files and stole assets for the developer’s forthcoming role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077, leading to the organization releasing a statement asking fans to avoid any leaked information should it come about. During CD Projekt Red’s latest meeting of shareholders, company president and joint CEO Adam Kicinski revisited the incident, stating that the stolen assets were held for ransom, which resulted in the studio’s decision to take action....

Expectations are high for Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt REDs next game, and the studio’s capstone for the PS4 and Xbox One. Even though Cyberpunk’s story will be shorter than The Witcher 3’s, a new photo of the Japanese script for the game shows just how big the game will is going to be, or at the very least how much dialogue will be featured in the game. CD Projekt RED Localization Manager Yuki Nishio revealed an image of the script on Twitter, shortly after the announcement that Cyberpunk 2077 has gone gold....

Cyberpunk 2077 has sold 13.7 million-plus units across all platforms, worldwide. That’s according to CD Projekt Red, which loudly displayed this accomplishment on its Twitter account on Thursday. However, this isn’t really all that new. CD Projekt Red already told us before Christmas that Cyberpunk 2077 had sold over 13 million units less than two weeks after its initial release. An extra 700,000 in sales isn’t really making all that much of a difference in our collective opinions....

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 has been out for less than a day and already datamining has revealed four more upcoming playable characters, including Black Bolt, Medusa, Vision, and Valkyrie. The information comes from Demonslayerx8, and are probably going to be released as free additions to the game since the developer stated the paid DLC is an all-or-nothing purchase consisting of the three themes Marvel Knights, X-Men, and the Fantastic Four, meaning that unless they are changing their minds, there is no standalone DLC to purchase for the game....

Seems like nothing is ever really lost on the Internet. A once-thought lost remake of the original Tomb Raider game has surfaced online and is partially playable. If that isn’t enough to get your attention, it also looks like the game’s scrapped assets were re-skinned for an Indiana Jones game that was also, well, scrapped. Last week Nintendo introduced a significant update to Animal Crossing: New Horizons that included the addition of an art gallery to Blathers’ museum as well as series mainstay Crazy Redd from whom works of art can be obtained. To some, this was unsurprising, as certain perceptive players had noticed in-game dialogue that seemed to imply that the art museum already existed. Their simple logic was that it would have been weird for Nintendo to include content referring to an art museum, something from past Animal Crossing games, and not eventually implement one....

A brand new Dead Rising 4 trailer shows Frank West returning to the mall plaza of Willamette, a location that should seem familiar to fans of the first game. There’s more to Dead Rising 4 than just the return of original protagonist Frank West: the series is returning to its roots in the form of the wholesome town of Willamette. The lovely blood-soaked locale played host to Willamette Parkview Mall, where the original Dead Rising took place, and a brand new trailer released by Xbox now shows our favorite intrepid journalist returning to a new form of the same location years later....

Players are eagerly waiting for more news about Beyond Light, the much-anticipated Destiny 2 expansion that would have been out last week barring COVID-related delays. Understandably, players have a ton of questions about what the state of Destiny 2 will be once Beyond Light launches given that it will be the biggest content “shift” in Destiny history with a ton of new content coming to the game and even more leaving with weapon and armor sunsetting, as well as the introduction of the Destiny Content Vault....

The mod system in Destiny 2 is a messy one, but Bungie is looking to fix that when Forsaken launches this fall. According to this month’s issue of Game Informer, Bungie is making the mod system a lot more unique and interesting, hopefully making Destiny 2’s mods more exciting in the process. According to the article, the number of mods in Destiny 2 is actually going down with there being less mods to collect overall, which some fans will likely be happy about....

Destiny 2’s Niobe Labs puzzle has proven to be one of the most divisive events in Destiny history. The new puzzle-based event was originally supposed to open the Bergusia Forge to the world when the first team cleared it, but after days of players trying to solve the cryptic and punishing puzzles, Bungie decided to go ahead and open the forge before a team beat Niobe Labs. Days later, Niobe Labs was completed, and here is how it’s done....

Destiny 2: Beyond Light rotates its seasonal content every few months, giving Guardians new activities to participate in while awarding gear to build up their arsenal. Season of the Chosen is no different and introduces new ways for Guardians to forge and claim their rewards. Destiny 2’s Season of the Chosen continues to improve the way Guardians focus their loot drops, aiding in finding those god-rolled gear pieces. Season of the Chosen introduces the Hammer of Proving, a Cabal Ritual Artifact used to gain rewards from Season of the Chosen’s Battlegrounds activity....

Destiny 2 players looking to earn the Splintered title in the newest expansion, Beyond Light, are first tasked with completing various Triumphs. One of these, called Reuniting the Eventide Rookery, requires Guardians to recover all the penguin toys on Europa. This penguin is the ninth and final penguin required for players to earn the Triumph and this guide will go into detail on its location in Destiny 2, available with the weekly reset on January 5....

In honor of notorious hedonist Emperor Calus, Bungie has added the Opulent Clap emote to Destiny 2. The emote is now available to players through Eververse. The motions in the new emote will be very familiar to Destiny 2 players who have fought through the Leviathan raid and faced down the final boss, Emperor Calus. The inspiration for the emote comes from certain moments during this encounter, where Calus will clap his hands and send some of the fire team to his mindscape....

Destiny 2 players looking to get a huge jump on progressing through their Season Pass should head to Europa as fast as possible. Much like the repeatable bounties on the Moon (which Bungie has since disabled), the repeatable bounties from Variks are giving 300% XP upon completion. Every time that Destiny 2 players visit Variks, they can pick up a total of 5 of his randomized bounties. But while the Fallen NPC’s daily bounties can sometimes be quite involved, his repeatable bounties are fairly easy to complete....

Destiny 2’s upcoming 2.2.1 update is going to change quite a few things for players of the game. While many fans are excited at the rare item drop rate buff, which will help players who are searching for One Thousand Voices or the ever-elusive Dreaming City cosmetic items, there are some other changes coming that fans should get ready for. In order to complete Destiny 2’s Tribute Hall, players need a lot of materials, but it appears that the desire to farm materials with as little effort as possible is having a negative effect on another activity in the game, specifically the Black Armory Forges. Although the Forges are two seasons old, and they are not the most relevant activity in the game anymore, there are a few reasons to still play them including being a viable option to completing a step in the Lumina exotic quest....

Following on the heels of Dead Orbit’s faction rally victory and the exciting new E3 2018 reveals regarding Destiny 2: Forsaken, Bungie isn’t letting players rest as the Iron Banner has once again returned. Thankfully, all progress from the first round of Season 3 carries over, so for players who have not yet finished all of the challenges and ornament unlocks will get another opportunity to do so. E3 gave fans plenty of new information about Forsaken and how it’s the biggest Destiny expansion in the history of the franchise, even eclipsing the popular Taken King update from September 2015....

Microsoft and Mojang release a set of new rules regarding in-game advertisements in Minecraft, as well as how and what companies can use the game for. Most, if not all, of Minecraft’s overwhelming popularity is the ability for players to create nearly anything they want. However, parent company Microsoft has now created new guidelines that affect what corporations can do in and with Minecraft. Mojang announced Microsoft’s new guidelines in an official blog post, specifically placing controls on the use of Minecraft for advertisement purposes....
