Destiny 2 players have a lot of goals when a new expansion releases like Forsaken. Some want to focus on the story, some want to get raid ready, and others have their sights set on collecting all of the gear. But acquiring all of the new items in Destiny 2: Forsaken requires a lot of luck and a little know-how. One of the exotic weapons returning to Destiny 2 from Destiny 1 is the Lord of Wolves, a fast-firing, burst shotgun that supposedly does major damage in PvP....

As part of the first Curse of Osiris DLC reveal stream, developer Bungie gave Destiny 2 fans their first look at the new content coming in early December. Principal among those was the reveal of the “new raid content” that players have been so curious about. There has been a lot of debate about what raid content means for Destiny 2, but now we know. Curse of Osiris will add a new raid-like encounter called a Raid Lair....

Guardians will want to spend any remaining Prismatic Facets before next week, as Bungie has announced it is removing the Prismatic Matrix feature from Destiny 2 for the current season. Update 1.2.3 is coming Tuesday, July 17, and Bungie has recently released information on what content is on the horizon, as well as what the incoming update will change or add to Destiny 2. Among the many changes announced are plans to remove the Prismatic Matrix from the game....

During a conference for its mobile game lineup today, Chinese company Perfect World revealed a new RPG titled “Code Name: X” that is very clearly a Persona game. The news made the rounds on Twitter thanks to industry pundit Daniel Ahmad who Tweeted out the reveal along with a minute-long trailer. The familiar sights of the Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo from Persona 5 are present along with some inspirational text that is very reminiscent of Atlus’ writing style....

Just one week after comedian Conan O’Brien tore Final Fantasy 15 apart, everyone’s favorite clueless gamer returned to try his hand at virtual reality gaming. While it wasn’t part of the actual Clueless Gamer program, Conan still got a fine taste of virtual reality gaming experiences like Job Simulator and Tilt Brush at the New York YouTube Space, where he kept YouTuber Tom Small busy keeping things in order....

Ever since the heavily-rumored third Left 4 Dead failed to see the light of day, many wondered what was next for the game’s developer, Turtle Rock Studios. The team went on to make Evolve back in 2015 but the game never really managed to catch on like its zombie-massacring predecessors, both of which are now heralded as some of the most iconic PC releases of all time. However, if a new video documenting the team’s work between 2015 and 2016 is to be believed, Turtle Rock wasn’t as keen to move away from the triple-A scene as many first thought, with the beloved studio allegedly dreaming up a brand new Left 4 Dead successor....

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time hit PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X a few days ago, bringing the marsupial’s latest platforming adventure to the next-generation of hardware. However, some PlayStation 5 players had to wait a little longer to hop into the latest Crash game on their new consoles, with a bug cropping up that prevented PlayStation 4 owners of the game from upgrading their copy. Yesterday, Activision fixed the frustrating issue, posting on Twitter that PlayStation 4 players should now be able to redeem the enhanced version of the game via their PlayStation 5 consoles....

The Critics Choice Awards is having a moment. With the recent and significant crisis occurring around the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s lack of diversity and other litany of scandals, NBC announced that they were cancelling 2022’s Golden Globes telecast. While the Globes are still going on, it has created a fortuitous moment for the Critics Choice Awards body (which, for full disclosure, this writer is a member). With its 27th annual ceremony, the CCAs have now moved for the first time into the weekend traditionally perched by the Globes: the first non-holiday Sunday in January....

The reviews for CD Projekt Red’s highly anticipated RPG Cyberpunk 2077 are finally out in the wild and there’s a lot to dive into. While most critics are praising the game’s complex quest design, interesting characters, and impressive world design, they are also criticizing the game’s underwhelming performance as witnessed in the PC version. As it seems, the game’s staggering amount of bugs and glitches are even making the players compare it to 2019’s open-world game Days Gone which was also heavily criticized for similar issues....

As of 4 PM UTC on March 16th of 2020, CD Projekt Red has announced via its official Twitter page that its upcoming, open world role-playing shooter Cyberpunk 2077 is currently still set to release in September as planned. This announcement comes after news that, due to COVID-19, popularly termed the Coronavirus, employees of CD Projeckt Red would be working on Cyberpunk 2077 from home. The post informed fans that, while adjusting to working remotely for an indeterminate amount of time is certainly a challenge, the team doesn’t believe that Cyberpunk’s production will falter because of it....

The original Dark Souls from FromSoftware turns ten years old in 2021, which is impressive for a game that started a whole new movement in gaming. The Dark Souls Trilogy is now revered as an all-time great, but a lot of its success can be drawn back to the original Dark Souls. Darksiders Genesis was a welcome entry to THQ Nordic’s spectacular action-adventure franchise about the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Despite making the series timeline even more convoluted, Genesis successfully adapts Darksiders into a top-down, isometric, hack and slash game without losing the puzzle design and visceral combat that fans have come to expect. Genesis introduces RPG mechanics that take the form of a skill tree, which can be filled out with creature cores....

David Fincher, the beloved and mercurial filmmaker behind Fight Club and Zodiac, released a seeming torrent of criticism over multiple interviews for everything from fanboy darlings like last year’s Joker to the long worshipped ghost of Orson Welles. In the case of the former, Fincher was speaking with The Daily Telegraph (via Deadline) when he said, “Nobody would have thought they had a shot at a giant hit with Joker had The Dark Knight not been as massive as it was....

Destiny: Rise of Iron will add a new character and eight new artifacts that can be used by any class and will totally change the way Destiny’s played. Destiny’s upcoming expansion, Rise of Iron, is being touted as one of the largest expansions yet for the MMO shooter. Rise of Iron will not only add a wealth of new content to the game, including the return of sparrow racing and the Festival of the Lost, but the expansion will also revamp the game’s artifact system....

Season of the Worthy for Destiny 2 built up a lot of hype in the lead up to its release. In the month or two leading up to the season’s reveal, data miners and leakers learned the Trials of Osiris would be making a triumphant return to the game. After years of the mode’s absence, along with a sub-par version of Trials of the Nine, guardians wanted the pinnacle endgame competitive activity to return for a long time....

Although Destiny 2’s Curse of Osiris DLC does not add a full raid to Bungie’s shooter it does feature a new raid lair. Essentially, a raid lair is a short add-on to the existing Leviathan raid with a final boss fight. No doubt Destiny 2 players are sure to be surprised by how short the raid lair is, but the activity’s length has no bearing on its difficulty. The final/main boss in the Eater of Worlds raid lair is no pushover and will require a coordinated team to beat....

Destiny 2 players have a chance to level up quickly and easily in Season of Arrivals thanks to a new bug with the season’s Umbral Engrams. It is unknown how long it will be until this gets a patch, so players will want to take advantage of this new leveling cheese before it’s gone. This trick is all about using the Prismatic Recaster, so Destiny 2 players need to have started the season by getting most of the way through the introductory quest in Season of Arrivals that allows them to access the upgrades on the Prismatic Recaster as well as start earning multiple Umbral Engrams....
