Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time released on PC via Blizzard.net last Friday, and fans of the series were surprised to find out that this largely single-player adventure-platformer came with a bizarre digital lockout that required the player to always be online. If you couldn’t log into Blizzard’s auth servers, Blizzard.net simply wouldn’t let you play Crash Bandicoot 4. It’s called always-online DRM, and it’s something that big publishers have continued to shove down gamer’s throats even for games that otherwise don’t require an internet connection to play....

Much like it’d done back in 2017, publisher Activision is bringing back the nostalgia of Crash Bandicoot with the upcoming release of the franchise’s racing spin-off, Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled. While the game will be releasing across multiple consoles, PlayStation 4 users will be happy to know they’ll be receiving some exclusive digital goodies when the remaster of the 1999 kart racer officially launches. While Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled brings with it a complete graphical overhaul of the original game, PS4 users will have access to exclusive 32-bit inspired skins to choose from for various characters....

Pokémon’s influence is undeniable. You can look at the franchise from just about any angle and see success. It has a hit anime, several film adaptations, a long running manga, merchandise that flies off the shelves, and, of course, the medium that started it all: the video games. Red, Blue, and Yellow were trendsetters unlike any other, popularizing the monster hunting genre and taking the world by storm. Whether it’s the 150 Chinese voice actors, or confirmation of it topping The Witcher 3’s massive scale, Cyberpunk 2077 is a definite RPG behemoth. A recent behind the scenes look at the game’s Japanese dubbed script also gave a nod to its grandeur, and leaves us pitying the game’s localization manager. Due to their strong talents and interesting range of personalities, fans have strong opinions about these characters. To make matters even more crazy, a lot of these characters die. Exotics are some of the most coveted weapons and armor in the Destiny franchise. Unlike most gear, Exotics have unique perks that are impossible to find elsewhere. They’re so strong that the game only allows for one Exotic weapon and armor piece to be equipped at a time. With the hundreds of Exotics that exist in Destiny and Destiny 2, it should come as no surprise that some are better than others....

Destiny 2 adds its only ritual weapon for Season of the Worthy in the form of the Legendary bow Point of the Stag, which is available for the first time this week during Iron Banner. It is earned through the Iron Banner quest, the same quest that will unlock the armor set for Iron Banner. It is a bit of a grind to get, but is Point of the Stag worth it?...

It’s fair to say that with the recent announcements of the Shadowkeep expansion and the upcoming free to play version called New Light, Destiny 2 is enjoying a bit of a renaissance with veteran and newer players alike. In addition, the Season of Opulence has been well received by players especially thanks to the new PvE mode called the Menagerie which lets players control the loot that drops at the end of the event....

Destiny 2 looks to be providing players in PvP with more information about their enemies so that they can make smarter decisions about how to engage. The beta allowed some fans to discover another touch added to the game that does just that - power weapons now glow a specific color at the tip of their barrel, letting opposing players know what they are up against. It’s something that most players may have noticed while playing the Destiny 2 beta, but they may not have known the full scope of the design element....

Previews and demos of Destiny 2 have shown off the new Dawnblade Warlock subclass, but as promised, Bungie is showing off another fresh subclass to Destiny 2—the Hunter Arcstrider. The Arcstrider will replace Destiny 1’s Bladedancer as the Hunter’s Arc-based subclass. Similar to what has been seen with the other subclasses so far, the grenade and jump abilities have stayed the same from Destiny 1, but now the subclasses are getting two new four-perk build trees for players to choose between....

Everyone who plays Destiny 2 knows that the competitive meta is largely dominated by Titans and Hunters. Despite how unique the Warlock class is, players who favor the magic and support-based playstyle is almost always outclassed by the other two Guardian types. Even in PvE, it’s arguable that Warlocks are lacking compared to their more offensive counterparts. There are several impressive builds for Warlocks for PvE/PvP, but that number is far outweighed by the sheer number of optimal Titan and Hunter exotic builds out there....

The Dawning moves into its second week as guardians continue to bake all sorts of goods for their favorite NPCs in Destiny 2. In addition to finishing bounties of Eva Levante and tracking down necessary ingredients to finish the three-part quest for the new exotic sparrow, Bungie also brought back the fan favorite Crucible mode Mayhem last week and has a few holiday treats in store for players during the break....

When Resident Evil launched on PlayStation back in 1996, executives at Capcom likely had no idea that the survival horror title would give birth to a franchise that would extend through console generations, find its way onto the big screen, and include a themed attraction at Universal Studios Japan. All that expansion has led to a number of websites promoting various aspects of the Resident Evil universe. Now Capcom is looking to consolidate some of those websites....

It’s been quite a wild ride for Mega Man Legends 3 and its loyal fan base over the years, but the dream has finally ended after a troubled development cycle. Capcom announced today that Mega Man Legends 3 on the Nintendo 3DS has been cancelled, and there are currently no plans to continue development on the game or franchise in the near future. News on the cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3 is a devastating blow to those who have been looking forward to the game’s release ever since it was announced last year, though given the game’s track record it seemed more of an inevitability than a complete shock....
