The class action lawsuit against CD Projekt Red regarding Cyberpunk 2077 is officially going ahead, with the company pledging to defend itself in court. To say that the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 was disastrous is an understatement. The most highly-anticipated game of the year became the subject of public mockery when it was revealed that it was plagued with bugs and performance issues. The console ports on PS4 and Xbox One were so bad that Cyberpunk 2077 was removed from the PlayStation Store....

A father is being forced to defend his decision to pull his son out of school to focus on a career in eSports, and some of his points are hard to argue with. The eSports industry is often described as one of the fastest growing in the world. While we agree with that sentiment, the word “growing” implies that it still has a long way to go. The world of eSports does continue to get bigger, but it should also be noted that it is already pretty huge, as it is an industry that pulls in millions - if not billions - of dollars a year....

More big changes are coming out of Dallas following the release of Gui-un “Decay” Jang as the Fuel announced they have parted ways with head coach Aaron “Aero” Atkins as well as assistant coach Louis “Tikatee” Lebel-Wong. Of all the varieties of swords in Dark Souls 3, Thrusting Swords offer the best traits for players intent on delivering speedy stabs. Due to the speed of their attacks, buffs that apply status effects like bleed, poison, or frostbite can be a great strategy to take advantage of. Some also have higher critical damage modifiers, which lends them quite well to tactics like delivering ripostes and backstabs. In addition, their thrust-type damage is great for landing counterattacks upon foes in the middle of an attack animation as well as allows their wielder to poke at foes from behind the safety of a shield....

Developer From Software, the studio behind Dark Souls and Bloodborne, has finally addressed rumors that have been circulating since last year that it is working on a new Armored Core game. While the studio has not made any official confirmation, Armored Core fans can perhaps rest a little easier thanks to a recent tweet from Yasunori Ogura, a member of From Software’s marketing department, and what followed it. The day after Ogura’s tweet, From Software announced that it would be releasing a special PS4 music broadcast to celebrate the series’ 20th anniversary on December 5th....

A new gameplay video has been released online for the upcoming game Darksiders 3, giving fans of the series a glimpse at the new game’s combat, and ending with a battle against a Lava Brute. Darksiders 3 is being developed by THQ Nordic, and although little has been shown of the game so far, it is known that the game’s protagonist will be Fury, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse....

Great news for Survivors and Killers alike, as Behavior Interactive announced an extension to the fourth-year anniversary event in Dead by Daylight. The event will now conclude at 11AM EST on July 14. This extra time is sure to be appreciated by players who are trying to complete their collections of Golden Crowns. Doing this as a Killer is straightforward and simple, as players need only locate the Crown Pillar in game and complete the match....

Ever since Dead by Daylight teased that its next Killer would be the Saw franchise’s Jigsaw, fans of the asymmetrical multiplayer survival-horror game were left wondering which permutation of the horror icon would be included in the title–either the original character of John Kramer, or one of the many who followed in his footsteps. Now, Behaviour Interactive and Starbreeze Studios have officially confirmed the The Saw Chapter’s Killer as The Pig, with the DLC set for release tomorrow, January 23, 2018....

This week, Destiny 2 players found an exploit (bug?) that allowed Titans to use the Synthoceps exotic gauntlets to do insane damage to bosses. Now, players are discovering just how powerful that exploit is, even going so far as to kill the Last Wish raid boss using (almost) one player’s weapon damage. As usual, Clan Redeem and friends completed this impressive feat and it’s fairly simple to set up. One Titan uses the tried and true cluster bomb rocket launcher strategy, only they are constantly buffed by Well of Radiance and Titan Hammer Strikes....

The first year of Destiny 2 wasn’t always the smoothest ride for players, with an overbearing microtransaction system, a relative lack of communication from Bungie to its players, and some design choices that left many scratching their heads. Thankfully, many of these problems that held the game down and casted a gloomy outlook on its future have been rectified through various updates, player feedback sessions at the studio, and the acclaimed Forsaken expansion that arrived last month....

With patch 3.1.1 this week, Destiny 2 saw many bugfixes and changes. These included a fix for the Fallen S.A.B.E.R. Strike boss, changes to Arbalest’s aim assist, and much more. The database was also updated with the weekly reset, brining many sneak peeks into upcoming Guardian Games loot. Guardian Games is Destiny 2’s annual spring event. The game has cycled through different spring events over the years, but Bungie seems to have settled on Guardian Games for the foreseeable future....

There will inevitably be an incredible amount of expectation on Bungie’s Destiny 2, with most of it stemming from the promise of the first game that was arguably fulfilled - albeit a little late, after several expansions and player complaints had given the developer direction on where to go with additional content. That expectation won’t weigh on Bungie’s decision to fundamentally alter several gameplay elements, like the addition of a new “button” in Destiny 2 for casual players, and it won’t stop the team behind the game from experimenting with new systems to attract different player mentalities to Destiny 2....

PC gamers who were interested in the original Destiny were pleased to hear that the sequel, Destiny 2, would be available on both consoles and PC. Of course, aligning the game across these extremely different systems will no doubt be a challenge, and as such developer Bungie has confirmed that there is the possibility of the console and PC versions of the game being balanced separately. This news comes courtesy of Bungie’s Luke Smith, who is the game director of Destiny 2....

Assistant Game Director Joe Blackburn has been pretty open with the Destiny 2 community since he rejoined the studio last year. After teasing new content in December, much of which has indeed arrived inside of the game as promised, Blackburn also mentioned a special State of Destiny 2 address sometime in 2021. The confirmation came in a January blog post to give fans a look at the direction that Destiny 2 is heading through 2021 and beyond....

CD Projekt RED, the company behind The Witcher 3 and the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, has announced that it will be donating 4 million PLN, roughly 980,000 USD, to the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy) to help combat the spread of coronavirus in Poland, the company’s home country. CD Projekt RED co-founder Marcin Iwinski posted an update to his LinkedIn profile concerning the donation, stating, “We’d like to thank all the brave souls who fight for our well-being every day and hope these funds help in your effort to rid us of the virus....

Releasing in early December, Cyberpunk 2077 has quickly become one of the most controversial launches in recent history, with its last-generation console ports being labeled unplayable and the general game being riddled with bugs. Its most recent update for the game, Version 1.1, was the latest in the lineup of backlash-inducing moves made by CD Projekt Red, adding a potentially game-breaking bug to the title that could completely derail an entire playthrough....

After Celeste’s final chapter released last year, a hotly-debated question arose surrounding the game’s protagonist, Madeline. Eagle-eyed players spotted two pride flags on Madeline’s desk - notably, a trans pride flag - and a bottle of pills on her nightstand. Many made the natural assumption that both of those signified that Madeline was trans, and that much of the game’s narrative could be reframed in that context. However, the game’s developers remained tight-lipped on (although very supportive of) the idea....
