Capcom and Dead by Daylight teamed up in the latest celebration of the survival horror’s anniversary with a $12 expansion that brings Resident Evil content to the hit multiplayer game. This crossover smashed both series’ concurrent player records, barring Village. Dead by Daylight went just over 75k, toppling Operation Raccoon City’s 500 player peak, Umbrella Corps’ 400, Resistance’s 4,000, and Resident Evil 3 Remake’s 59k. It’s not quite Village’s 107k, but it’s certainly close....

After announcing the game for Xbox One and Windows 10, Microsoft now confirms that upcoming zombie game Dead Rising 4 is a timed exclusive on the platforms. Officially revealed during Microsoft’s press conference at E3 2016, Dead Rising 4 features returning lead character Frank West as he heads back to his home town. The Dead Rising 4 announcement trailer at also highlighted the game’s holiday setting, with players set to take on zombies in a shopping mall during Christmas time....

If the reveal of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut left you wondering why, exactly, the upcoming PS5 re-release is being referred to as a “director’s cut,” it turns out your not alone. Even Death Stranding director Hideo Kojima doesn’t seem to know why that name was chosen. Yes, after fans spent weeks asking why Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is called a director’s cut when the director of the game clearly had nearly total creative control over the “retail” version of the title, Kojima himself has stepped in to suggest that the name was not his decision and that he feels it is not entirely accurate....

PlayStation fans gotten some exciting news this morning, as Sony revealed new details and hardware specs for the PS5. Mark Cerny, the PS5 lead system architect, confirmed a number of new hardware details including a brand new AMD chipset, improved audio, and a Solid State Drive, which significantly improves load times and rendering. The upcoming system will also be backward-compatible to the PS4 - a welcome addition for fans. Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding was also mentioned, and it could potentially be a cross-platform release....

And now fans of games like Dark Souls and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice have a new chance to see where it all started, thanks to Bluepoint Games’ absolutely fantastic PlayStation 5 remake of the 2009 classic. Bluepoint’s Demon’s Souls remake is almost the same exact game that released in 2009 in terms of core gameplay....

Demon’s Souls on PS5 takes a lot of effort to beat. In addition to increasing stats based on soul level, you’ll also increase a weapon’s power by upgrading them individually with the help of a blacksmith. For a large portion of the journey in the launch title, Blacksmith Boldwin’s upgrades will suffice. Later on, however, you will need something a little more to help gain the edge over harder bosses and enemies....

After revealing the return of Icebreaker in a trailer for The Dawning, a new video reveals how Destiny: Rise of Iron fans can finally get their hands on one. Last update December 30th, 2017 As expected, Bungie revealed its plans for the near future of Destiny with a new trailer showing a seasonal event called The Dawning. Taking inspiration from the holiday season, players are getting a heaping helping of content including new quests, gear wrapped in presents, a strike scoring system, and the return of the Sparrow Racing League....

Raids can be one of the most rewarding and satisfying activities for any video game that includes them. These activities are typically reserved for MMORPGs and similar genres, so that is why many were surprised when Bungie announced that their FPS-MMO hybrid Destiny would have raids. No one could have anticipated how successful they’d be. For many who want to get into raids, many will recommend the Scourge of the Past raid since it grants great loot and is action-packed....

Destiny 2: Forsaken is right around the corner, and much like the previous big Destiny releases, Forsaken will be getting a new cinematic, which debuts tomorrow on Bungie’s Twitch channel. The new video is called “Gunslinger’s Last Stand” and will feature Cayde-6 seemingly fighting off the hordes of prisoners trying to escape the Prison of Elders during the campaign’s first mission. Players that want to see this new cinematic should tune into Blizzard’s Gamescom stage on Bungie’s Twitch stream tomorrow at 8 am PST....

The original Destiny was a huge success for Bungie and Activision, smashing records for a new IP in the process. Destiny’s popularity persisted over the years thanks to frequent updates from Bungie, including a number of sizable expansions, and so expectations have been high for Destiny 2 to perform just as well. While we don’t have exact sales figures just yet, Bungie has claimed that “millions” of players have played Destiny 2 since its launch on September 6th....

Boss enemies have been a hot topic within the Destiny 2 community lately, likely as a result from the bug that caused one of the strike bosses, Protheon, to grow three times bigger than it should have. While fans were glad to get a sneak peek of what that actually looked like courtesy of Bungie, it seems to have triggered a new debate regarding the look of the bosses themselves. Thankfully, the question as to why bosses seem to be scaled up versions of normal enemies did not go on deaf ears and was actually answered by a developer....

For Destiny 2’s Warmind DLC update, Bungie introduced something that PvP fans have been asking for practically since day 1: ranked play. However, Crucible Ranking in Destiny 2 is hardly what those players envisioned; in fact, it’s quite bad in its current iteration. For the casual playlist, the Valor ranking is just fine. It suits the nature of the playlist, awarding players with points towards their Valor rank based on a win, or even a loss, with a streak tied in for good measure....

One of the many discoveries players made in Forsaken, Destiny 2’s newest expansion, is that the drop rates of exotics have become tremendously rare. Whereas in Year 1, exotics were regularly dropping for players, even in the initial leveling process, in Year 2 that has been dialed way back. For the most part, fans are enjoying that the pursuit of exotics feels much more meaningful due to the infrequency of them dropping; however, there’s one big complaint that goes along with that....

A group of Destiny fans defeats Aksis, the final boss of the new Wrath of the Machine raid, without firing their guns and using only grenades and melee attacks. Destiny: Rise of Iron’s raid, Wrath of the Machine, has been out for just two weeks, but fans have already found creative and challenging ways to conquer the latest of Destiny’s PvE endgame activity. The latest self-imposed challenge mode is killing Aksis, the final boss in the raid, using only melee attacks, grenades, and supers....

Coming four years after the last new numbered entry, Resident Evil Village seeks to merge two eras of Capcom’s beloved survival horror franchise. By applying the contemporary first-person perspective of Resident Evil 7 with the aesthetic and gameplay systems of Resident Evil 4, its May release can’t come soon enough for fans. Apart from the gameplay of Resident Evil Village showing traditional design choices, it seems it will also be a throwback in terms of regional differences....

Of all the highly anticipated titles releasing this year, Resident Evil Village is one that many in the gaming community are very excited for. Following up the large amount of success that Resident Evil 7 garnered when it first released, Resident Evil Village looks to carry over a lot of the things that players loved about the previous game, while implementing some elements previously featured in older entries.
