With the launch of Destiny 2: Beyond Light, developer Bungie is retiring pieces of major content for the first time in the game’s 4-year history. Some seasonal content and activities have gone away in the past, like the Seraph Bunkers or the Sundial 6-player activity, but this is much more significant than that. Bungie is putting whole planets and destinations into the Destiny Content Vault and it’s unclear when (or even if) they will ever return....

The game’s next race for first has now been officially unveiled and promises players a familiar race with a clear recommended Power Level. Multiplayer-minded Destiny 2 players have been having to find something else to do with their time these past two weekends. Bungie was forced to disable Destiny 2’s popular Trials of Osiris competitive multiplayer mode following some unexpected problems. At the time of Trials of Osiris being disabled, Bungie said it would be down indefinitely while it worked out a solution. This time around, indefinitely isn’t so long after all. Bungie’s now revealed when Trials of Osiris is coming back, starting tomorrow....
Destiny 2’s live action trailer from several days ago packed in plenty of action and teased the gargantuan showdown between the Guardians and the Red Legion leader Ghaul, while also highlighting the game’s new subclass abilities. Now, though, it looks as if the first-person science fiction shooter’s live action trailer for Japan is giving the original clip a run for its money, as the Eastern country’s celebration of the title features a huge dance party....
The Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris DLC has only been out for less than a day and already players have found the latest must-have weapon in the game. While Bungie’s online shooter is no stranger to OP weapons like the Gjallarhorn and the Vex Mythoclast, the new Prometheus Lens is in a category all its own. Most Destiny 2 fans should be plenty familiar with the Prometheus Lens given it has been featured in tons of Curse of Osiris promotional materials....

Resident Evil and Street Fighter publisher Capcom responds to games industry talk about raising the prices of PS5 and Xbox Series X games. One publisher, 2K, has confirmed that NBA 2K21 will be more expensive on next-generation consoles but few others have revealed their plans. Speaking during an August investor question and answer session, Capcom revealed that it does not have “a set policy” at this time. However, the company plans to “consider” its approach and will look at the strengths and weaknesses of a next-gen price hike while also looking at “industry trends” surrounding the subject....
Cyberpunk 2077 and bugs, it’s been the story of the week. We’re hearing stories about amusing, game breaking, and sometimes even dangerous bugs every other day. It seems that last-gen consoles have faced these issues more than any other system, and CD Projekt Red has finally recognized this. In a statement put out via its official Twitter handle just some time ago, the developer has apologized for not showcasing the game running on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, hence not enabling owners of those consoles to make a more informed decision....
Sales at CD Projekt are down. That’s according to the recently released financial report for the first quarter of its 2021 fiscal year. Net profit is down 64.7% thanks to continuing efforts into fixing Cyberpunk 2077, which had such a disastrous launch that it was delisted from the PlayStation storefront and still hasn’t been put back up. It’s also because 2020 saw an unusual uptick in sales because of the pandemic....
A lot of players are looking forward to the release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 Remastered. The original games were a hit with players and spawned a huge Tony Hawk game franchise and fans are hoping that the remastered titles can recapture what made the original fun. In what can only be described as Conan O’Brien’s best San Diego Comic-Con parody ever, we learn that our favorite red-headed late-night talk show host shares a lot in common with our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. In a spoof video, we learn about O’Brien’s origin story and find out that he was bitten by a radioactive clown at his quinceañera, a Hispanic celebration for a girl’s 15th birthday. Seeing the lanky, 6’4 man dance around in a dress would’ve been a sight to behold....
