Bungie released a weekly report today that contains all that’s happening this upcoming week for the company – and what a week. The release of Destiny 2 for consoles is just days away, so Bungie is preparing Guardians for what’s to come. This includes revealing the date for the game’s first raid, which will go live on September 13th at 10am PT. As that’s just a week after launch, there isn’t a lot of time left to gather a Fireteam, Guardians....
Activision held an earnings call today and during the presentation, the publisher confirmed that not only will Destiny 2 be receiving its second Year 1 expansion in May, but another “major content release” will hit later this year. For fans familiar with the Destiny franchise, this most certainly signals a major expansion likely to release in the fall. Destiny 2’s first year is seeming to follow a similar path to Destiny 1’s first year, which saw the release of small expansions The Dark Below and House of Wolves....
It’s no secret that Destiny 2 has a rampant cheating problem on PC. Looking at forums, community message boards, subreddits, YouTube, and even livestreams shows that Bungie is struggling to keep hacking and cheating out of its PvP experiences, and in a lot of cases it’s ruining the game for people. However, the rampant cheating is also completely changing the personality of the average Destiny 2 player as well. Prior to the move to Steam and the addition of Destiny 2: New Light, there were a few cheaters here or there, but not enough to be noticeable....
Cardcaptor Sakura will be getting a mobile puzzle game by Bushiroad this Summer called Repaint Record. It will have an original story attached to it that’s set in the canon of the sequel anime, Clear Card. We shouldn’t expect the unexpected though. The gameplay is very similar to puzzle games like Bejeweled or Candy Crush Saga, in which you’re lining up matching colors together. However, it looks slightly more interesting than the average puzzle tat on mobile by having 3D animations on the top of the screen....
Complaints of uncreativity are flocking to Hollywood and other animation studios. Fans don’t understand why studios keep remaking old material instead of making something new. These same fans don’t understand that new projects can be a huge monetary risk. Netflix learned the hard way that not every original series is worth watching. Though they had successful titles like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black, they’ve had just as many failures....
Capping off today’s Realms Deep 2020 stream, publisher 3D Realms revealed a new trailer for Core Decay. An FPS/RPG title in the vein of System Shock or Deus Ex, this seriously looks like the continuation of Looking Glass Studios’ popular sci-fi series that we’re likely to never see. All this game is missing is an appearance from SHODAN. In development for a couple of years now, the project started life as the debut game from indie developer Ivar Hill....
Crytek Studios is aiming to take the online world by storm with a brand new, free-to-play FPS entitled Warface, which is already labelled as “soon to be released.” The creators of games like Far Cry and Crysis certainly represent a formidable studio to punch out a game like this. Supposedly set in the near future, Warface is powered by the fantastic CryEngine 3 system, though Crytek has stated that it’s designed to run on low-end computers as well, with minimum specs of a 2Ghz processor and a single gigabyte of RAM - granted, you’ll probably see a lot less dazzle in your graphics with that, but you can still play with a buddy who’s running his $6,000 custom built Alienware....

During Xbox’s E3 Press conference, The Witcher 3 developer CD Projekt Red provided a new cinematic trailer for its highly anticipated title Cyberpunk 2077. The major takeaway from this trailer is that the actor Keanu Reeves would star in Cyberpunk 2077, with the John Wick star coming out afterward to speak briefly about the title and even revealed the game’s release date himself. Dark Souls 2 offers more bosses than any of the other Dark Souls games. As said by many people, it beats out the other Souls games with quantity but not quality. Many of the bosses have unfair advantages that one doesn’t find in the other Dark Souls games. Some boss fights throw the player into a one versus three scenario that for many new players is overwhelming. Other bosses use typical one-hit-kill maneuvers that, if caught off guard, can end even an experienced players’ perfect run....

This year’s E3 season has obviously been a little scattershot due to COVID-19 effectively canceling the annual gaming conference.
