CD Projekt Red’s (CDPR) games are no strangers to easter eggs. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt had a lot of fun ones, including a pretty overt Star Wars reference. Now it seems the developer will reference itself in the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, which will apparently have a Witcher 3 reference. The easter egg’s information comes from GameSpot, where three members of the outlet got the opportunity to play the opening hours of Cyberpunk 2077....
Cyberpunk 2077 is still in a very sorry state on the Xbox One and PS4 and it looks like it’ll likely remain that way for the foreseeable future. CDPR is putting out patches to improve the game’s performance, but a recent leak said that they’re probably just going to go back to the drawing board and re-do the entire game’s code on last-gen consoles. So last-gen Cyberpunk is a no-go, which means we’re all stuck waiting for the next-gen upgrade set to release later this year....
Zombie survival shooter, DayZ, is officially coming out of Xbox game preview on March 27 and becoming a full release. Inside Xbox made the announcement during a livestream on YouTube. You can find it around the 1.08 mark. It was followed by the official trailer, which can be viewed below. During the Xbox Inside segment, a spokesperson for Bohemia Interactive discusses how active the DayZ community has been over the last few months while the game has been in preview....
DC Universe Online fans have a lot to look forward to, as the latest episode for the game launches today, including the event version of the episode which is free for all players in the game across all platforms. Originally announced in June, the release is a few weeks shy of DC Fandom, which may have its own slew of DC related announcements. The new episode, titled Wonderverse, has new and veteran players battling The New Gods of Apokalypse....
Cutscenes. You either hate them or you love them. Some consider the cutscene to be an enormous waste of time that prevents you from playing the game you spent so much money on. Others eagerly await the glorious graphics of a cutscene that will enlighten them as to what will happen next in the narrative. However you look at cutscenes though, there’s no doubt that a good cutscene is meant to progress the player’s knowledge of the game’s plot without having them distracted by gameplay....
It’ll likely be a long time before Bloodborne 2 every happens, and that’s if it does. FromSoftware currently has a lot on its plate, considering that Elden Ring is its most ambitious, largest-scale project to date. Today marks the beginning of the end for Destiny, as the last Trials of Osiris is set to kick off in just a few hours. And with it, one of the last regular ritual for Destiny will come to an end, as Bungie paves the way for new rituals in Destiny 2. One Destiny ritual that has yet to come to an end, and may never do so, is the weekly appearance by Xur, the exotic vendor....
The Destiny 2 Forsaken expansion makes some major changes with the game, and not just its decision to kill off a major character. One of the biggest tweaks that developer Bungie has made is with the game’s weapon slots, making its weapon system work a lot more like the weapon system of the first game. In particular, the Forsaken weapon system will no longer restrict weapons to a specific slot. Shotguns, for example, won’t always be defined as Power weapons....
Outside of the story, one of the bigger complaints with Destiny is how it handled available content within each of the open worlds. Patrol missions featured somewhat generic tasks such as killing enemies or collecting a certain number of items dropped from enemies. Thankfully, Destiny 2 looks to alleviate many of these issues by introducing more lore heavy side missions like Lost Sectors and Adventures, in addition to giving players various challenges and tasks to overcome as well....
The Lost Forges are a new activity introduced into Destiny 2 with the addition of the Black Armory DLC. To get to the first forge, Volundr forge, players will need to grab the quest from Spider in the Tangled shore, go to the tower, and then gather a weapon core, compound ether, and achieve Hive multi-kills. Afterward, players will be to open up the director and find the Volundr Forge in the EDZ....
Destiny 2 fans have stumbled upon an interesting new series of posts on Bungie’s website that hint at the return of a popular weekly activity from Destiny. It seems that Arms Day from Destiny is making its way to Destiny 2, with a new spin on it. Arms Day is now Armsweek, which will focus on restricting player loadouts for the chance at new rewards. The posts list three different Armsweek Nightfall strikes which will limit loadouts so players can earn masterwork catalyst progression for three different exotics in Destiny 2....
In the latest This Week at Bungie, the Destiny 2 developer laid out a roadmap for what is coming in the upcoming Solstice of Heroes event, set to start on August 11th. Along with new challenges for players to participate in, Bungie has also outlined what the players can expect to earn during the event, including a glowing set of legendary armor. Of course, Solstice of Heroes is nothing new for Destiny 2, and neither are the glowing armor sets that unlock as players complete high-level activities from across the game....
Destiny 2 players are finally experiencing the long promised invasion of the forces of Darkness. While playing an older piece of content, one player noticed some interesting imagery that could reveal something about the Darkness and the Nine. In Season of Arrivals specifically, the Darkness’ storyline involves the Nine as well. This was mostly done through Destiny 2’s newest dungeon, Prophecy, which revolves around the utilization of darkness and light....
The Taken King’s Creative Director, Luke Smith, took to Twitter yesterday and admitted that Destiny is still lacking long-term goals to keep players engaged. Even though Bungie has released the new Refer-a-Friend program and has teased that Challenge Modes are coming to the King’s Fall raid (details should be coming today in an early Bungie Weekly Update), many players are feeling what is called the “content gap.” They have consumed all of Destiny’s current content, and especially with great experiences out this holiday season like Fallout 4 and Battlefront, Destiny is starting to run dry for many....
