Days Gone 2 isn’t happening, with Sony Bend’s pitch for the sequel having been turned down way back in 2019. Since then, the studio has moved onto new projects, but recent events have sparked controversy around the rejected follow-up, and what could have been done differently to prevent such an untimely fate for Deacon St John and his post-apocalyptic adventures. A recent report from Bloomberg explored how Sony Bend worked on a number of ideas before settling on their new project, with Days Gone 2 being shelved due to lukewarm critical reception when compared to other darlings in Sony’s exclusive portfolio....

Behavior Interactive has announced that Matchmaking ratings, skill-based matchmaking, and ranked rewards will soon be added to Dead by Daylight. The news comes in the most recent developer update, along with new information about a HUD revamp, graphic upgrades, and changes to three Killers. The return of matchmaking ratings is exciting to see, as the developer has been working to improve on their initial test from 2020. At its core, the new matchmaking system aims to connect you with other players of a similar skill level, regardless of what rank each player may have....

Although Dead by Daylight features a wide selection of notable killers from some of cinema’s most iconic horror films, Behaviour Interactive also has a penchant for creating its own series of twisted killers. From the Japanese-mythology inspired Oni and the grotesque Plague, to the recently released Blight and his corrupting serums, it’s clear the minds behind Dead by Daylight have plenty of creepy ideas up their sleeves. Case in point, the game’s recently announced “A Binding of Kin” expansion, which brings a monstrous pair of new killers to the game called “The Twins....

An asymmetric 4v1 Dead By Daylight-style game called Monstrum 2 is coming to Steam Early Access on January 28th. There will be an open beta weekend just before launch, on January 23-24. Monstrum 2 looks to be a major departure from the original Monstrum, which released on Steam in May 2015. Though both games involve sneaking around monsters and solving puzzles to eventually escape before you’re captured and killed, Monstrum was a single-player game with procedurally generated maps and AI monsters....

Series one of E4 gamer flatshare comedy Dead Pixels – created by Jon Brown and executive produced by Bain and Armstrong – was built on a similar truth minus the façade of normality. Its leads were just as entertainingly idiotic as Mark and Jez, but their shared gaming obsession with MMORPG Kingdom Scrolls stripped them of any fitting-in pretence. Meg and Nicky (Alexa Davies and Will Merrick) were largely adjusted to their outsider status; their inner and outer voices one and the same: filthy, funny and quotable....

Cheating has become so rampant in PUBG that one computer manufacturer is advertising their wares by bragging about how many cheat programs it can run while playing. It’s almost a cliche at this point. Playing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is less a matter of trying to avoid the games with cheaters in them and more a matter of just trying to avoid the cheaters in each game. That’s easier said than done of course, and especially when said cheaters can see through walls....

Destiny 2: Beyond Light’s Season of the Chosen has brought back a classic shotgun for Guardians everywhere to enjoy. The Shaxx-approved, Crucible-themed Legendary Shotgun has been added back to the game’s loot pools, but with some changes including a new method of obtaining it. Thanks to the weapon sunsetting system that places a Power cap on weapons earned from previous seasons, the Retrofuturist returns with a new Power cap and new perks....

Destiny 2 has long been teasing something called Arc Week, slated on the Year 2 calendar to take place during the Season of the Drifter. Many Destiny 2 players speculated about what Arc Week could be and now Bungie has finally revealed how Arc Week works, detailed some changes to Arc subclasses, and even revealed new Arc emotes. Destiny 2’s Arc Week will begin on April 9th with the weekly reset....

The Season of Arrivals in Destiny 2 is now the longest-running season in the game’s history. Players who may have expected to see new content in light of its unexpected extension are currently seeing the removal of content instead. As per Bungie Help’s Twitter account, clans in Destiny 2 “can no longer gain XP and Hawthorne’s Weekly Challenge can no longer be completed.” This change will remain in effect for the duration of the Season of Arrivals, which is currently set to end November 10....

It’s a big week for Destiny 2 fans as Bungie has released the Curse of Osiris expansion, which also kicks off season 2. As Bungie is known to do with its games, players have started coming across secrets and hidden Easter Eggs within the new Osiris content in Destiny 2. The latest one involves a certain famous character from Destiny lore, which some players might regard as spoilers. Reader beware....

Considering that July 20, 2019 was the 50th anniversary of the Apollo Moon landing event and that the upcoming expansion for Destiny 2 is bringing back the Moon destination, Bungie wasn’t about to let the date go by without releasing something new to promote Shadowkeep. As such, a new trailer arrived to quickly show off some of the new locations that have been added to make Shadowkeep twice as large as the original Moon location....

There are a lot of games releasing later this year, and one of the biggest names is, no doubt, Destiny 2. In a world filled with games as service titles, Destiny has certainly established itself as a premiere live service franchise, cultivating a dedicated and passionate playerbase over a number of years. Indeed, the reach of the series is extensive, and, from time to time, references to Destiny even find their way into other media. Resident Evil: Village’s art director, Tomonori Takano, has confirmed just how tall Lady Dimitrescu is - you know, that vampire that a good chunk of the fanbase is lusting over right now? A much-anticipated announcement from Deadline has revealed that director Nia DaCosta has been brought on to direct the upcoming sequel to Captain Marvel. DaCosta recently directed Candyman, a sequel/reboot of the original 1992 film of the same name set to release later this year. According to Deadline, Marvel had been meeting with several candidates for the job, but ultimately decided on DaCosta, who had apparently already been a top contender during these meetings....

CD Projekt has responded following the removal of Cyberpunk from the PS Store, suggesting that the action is only a temporary one. To say Cyberpunk’s first week has been a bit of a mess might well be the understatement of the year, and it has been one hell of a year. The game is riddled with bugs and developer CD Projekt has admitted it didn’t pay enough attention to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game....

For an independent developer, CD Projekt RED has made a strong impact on the fantasy RPG genre during this generation. With its adapation of The Witcher book series into two successful games, the company has become a fan favorite amonsgst hardcore role-playing fans, but has not had quite as much success with mainstream gamers like Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls series has. CD Projekt RED hopes to change that with The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt....

Chris returns in The King of Fighters 15 after a long hiatus. He is now a part of Team Orochi alongside Shermie and Yashiro Nanakase. The 14-year-old Swiss fighter hasn’t been brought back since The King of Fighters Neowave almost 20 years ago. Through a series of events, Chris was canonically dead until The King of Fighters 14, in which Verse revived him alongside his two team members. This is according to an interview from Neo Geo Now....

The first time most Star Trek fans encountered Captain Christopher Pike was in the Original Series adventure “The Menagerie” (which extensively used footage from the original pilot episode for the series titled “The Cage”). This two-part episode introduced some backstory for the USS Enterprise, including the reveal of an almost completely different crew than the ones who audiences had been watching on TV to that point. For a character who only made a single appearance onscreen (until recent years), Pike generated enough curiosity to appear in novels, comics, a return in Star Trek: Discovery, and now in a series all his own with the upcoming Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which premieres May 5 on Paramount+....
