Quests are a core part of the Destiny experience, as they reward players with powerful weapons if they complete a series of objectives and challenges. The most enticing reason to complete these quests is to unlock Destiny 2’s large range of Exotics, game-changing weapons and armor. One such Exotic is the Polaris Lance, a Solar Scout Rifle that fires explosive rounds after chaining precision hits. It’s a fun gun to use, but earning it is a long process....

Black Armory, the first Year 2 content drop for Destiny 2, released this week and with it comes the promise of new activities, new loot, and a few new secrets. While it’s still early for many players - some are not even able to complete the new Forge activity - others have found a mystery box that seemingly leads to a secret exotic. To find the Mysterious Box, Destiny 2 players should head to the European Dead Zone and target the Sunken Isles zone....

For a live service game like Destiny 2, the meta for what weapons, gear, and abilities work best is always changing. This is due in large part to changes to the game, either from normal updates, seasonal changes, and even large expansions adding new content. Things were thrown into flux late last year with the Destiny Content Vault and Weapon Sunsetting removing large portions of content, though the player base always manages to find the next best thing....

Destiny 2 has had a better initial showing than its predecessor. The game currently has an 85 percent rating on Metacritic, and an 8.5 out of 10 on ign.com. Apparently, Bungie has done something right with this installment. While the more fluid storyline and multiplayer mode additions have a lot to do with this, one thing is for sure; the items players can grab in the game also matter greatly. The incentive to try new missions or take out enemies depends on what rewards are up for grabs....

This week Bungie released a new update for Destiny 2 that included improvements to the game’s Faction Rally event. And while Faction Rally isn’t set to go live just yet, Bungie has detailed what changes players can expect from the event when it starts on Tuesday. One of the main goals for Faction Rally that Bungie wants to deliver in Season 3 of Destiny 2 is to make pledging a difficult and meaningful choice....

Since their introduction a few years back, Destiny 2 mods have undergone a number of changes in order to make the system better. The idea of giving players a way to customize their builds is a noble one, and by and large, the mod system works, but there are some areas where it can improve. This week, Bungie confirmed some changes coming to Destiny 2’s armor mods that should go a long way towards improving the system....

While Destiny 2: Forsaken brought a lot of great changes to the game, one of the most controversial changes to some was the rework for the Clan XP system. While the original version of Clan XP allowed players to contribute while completing any activity, the current system limits Clan XP to bounties given by Hawthorne, which force participation in specific activities. Luckily, players can expect the Clan XP system to change back to the way things were when Season of the Drifter kicks off....

Although it will likely be a few days before the majority of players are ready for the Destiny 2 endgame, some players have already neared that threshold. Once the endgame is in sight it’s usually time for Nightfall Strikes, which are some of the game’s most challenging content. Speculation regarding Destiny 2 has been heating up after a number of recent leaks, including the reveal of a potentially official poster for the game. Now, however, the wait for fans is finally over, after Bungie officially announced the title. Season of Arrivals hit Destiny 2 without practically any previews ahead of time. Bungie released no trailers and did not show the seasonal roadmap until Arrivals actually launched. Players only had a good idea of what the name of the season would be due to a leak just a day prior to the reveal. Destiny 2’s Season of the Drifter has officially begun and patch 2.2.0 live. The Tower Annex Landing Zone has opened up to players and waiting within is everyone’s favorite untrustworthy Gambit vendor, The Drifter. The Power cap has been raised to 700 and Destiny 2’s Crucible rankings are being reset with the new season. The Season of the Drifter patch notes are vast and already controversial. The most interesting change slipping into Destiny 2’s Season of the Drifter patch notes are the changes made to reserve ammo for two of the game’s most popular heavy weapons, the Sleeper Simulant and the Whisper of the Worm....

Curse of Osiris, the first expansion for Destiny 2, launches tomorrow, and Bungie just released a teaser trailer ahead of tomorrow’s launch. The trailer highlights new areas and new gear, but more importantly it contains a teaser for the Raid Lair, a new raid activity coming with Curse of Osiris. The clip showcases the new area within the Leviathan, where the first raid in Destiny 2 took place. The enormous consumer of worlds contains remnants of all the planets it has devoured during its travels, and Leviathan, Eater of Worlds allows players to explore the remains of these planets and experience new and challenging threats....

The ongoing pandemic has wreaked havoc on a number of industries over the past year, causing delays to many major video game, movie, and television releases. However, news is now surfacing that the pharmaceutical corporation Pfizer and German partner BioTech have created a vaccine for COVID-19 that is proving 90 percent effective....

Yesterday we flew through Talah Market to explore one of the four brand new urban maps coming to Battlefield 3 in the latest DLC pack Aftermath. Talah Market, like the other three maps, is set in post-natural-disaster Iran where an 8.1 magnitude earthquake has made ruins out of several urban centers and the remaining soldiers are left to scavenge for whatever weapons and makeshift vehicles are available. This is the theme of Aftermath which just released yesterday for premium members playing BF3 on the PS3....

If you’ve joined a forum about how powerful certain weapons are in Cyberpunk 2077, then you’ve seen the disrespect levied upon tech weapons. Though there are some awesome iconic tech weapons, none of them reign supreme in any category (i.e. the best sniper rifle is a power weapon, the best pistol is a smart weapon, etc). Naturally, with a tree that seems to encourage tech weapons, you might be inclined to resist investing any points here....

I’m sitting far enough back that I’m out of the crowd. Watching. Watching the line of people and vehicles as they wait at the border. Watching the Tower Group guards as they give the go-ahead to some to pass through the gate, forcing others – often physically – out of line and sending them wearily back to the bordertown; the badlands. They were probably mutants. Tower guards hate mutants. On the other side of the gate lies Cincinnati, now one of the only places in North America that’s hospitable enough to act as a major city – at least, as far as I’m aware right now....

In terms of gameplay, setting, characters, tone, and nearly anything else fans could think of, Dark Souls and Halo are drastically different. It’s difficult to see how these two things could ever relate to one another, but one modder has made it so. Going by the name of Inferno Plus, this modder has added in multiplayer maps from Halo into the game. These maps can be used in online play to create epic battles between large groups of players that would previously have been impossible....

Its RPG trappings boast more RNG than your average Pokémon battle, and its many ghastly monsters are determined to wipe out your party in the grimmest ways possible. To survive in Red Hook’s dark, gothic hit, you’ll need a good working knowledge of each of the game’s hero classes, what makes them tick, and how best to utilize them in a party....

Seasoned dungeon delvers and tabletop connoisseurs will want to keep their eye on Kickstarter this fall. The official Darkest Dungeon Twitter account announced that they would be partnering with Mythic Games to launch a Kickstarter campaign for a board game adaptation of the turn-based, Lovecraftian rogue-like. Originally releasing in 2016, Darkest Dungeon vastly exceeded Red Hook Studios expectations in terms of sale and critical acclaim. Since then, the studio has produced several DLC expansions, and in an announcement that appeared to be an April Fool’s joke, the developer confirmed Darkest Dungeon will receive multiplayer DLC in the future....
