In California, though, one vaccination center is closing down for the duration of an anime convention. SacAnime is an anime convention that has been around since 1986. This weekend, the convention has an event planned at The Grounds in Roseville, California. From April 2 to April 4, attendees will get to experience a “swap meet” with proper social distancing and mask wearing....

Spry Fox has just released a brand new game called Cozy Grove, an adorable life-sim that offers similar gameplay to that of the Animal Crossing franchise, but with a healthy dose of spookiness. Players take on the role of a Spirit Scout that travels to the island of Cozy Grove and finds themselves tasked with helping the ghostly bear inhabitants they find there. As you progress through the story, the island will become larger and you start to return color and life to the area, adding more characters and more things for you to interact with....

Can anyone honestly claim their immediate reaction to the new, non-2D character portraits in Crusader Kings 3 was anything but “Gee, I hope there’s a Ruler Designer so I can make myself (but with a better jawline)?” Good tidings to you all! ’90s classic video game Chex Quest has once again been revived, once again available for free, but this time in comic book form. The original Chex Quest was spawned back in 1996 by developer Digital Café, who grabbed ahold of The Ultimate Doom engine of 1995 and used it to make a game about a Chex-clad soldier who fights slimy green invertebrates called Flemoids. Yes, Chex as in the cereal. Chex Quest was apparently devised as a marketing move aimed at drumming up some excitement around the Chex cereal brand, especially amongst cereal-consuming kids....

The independent video game developers at StudioMDHR release 6 minutes of fresh gameplay footage for the forthcoming platforming title known as Cuphead. With indie developers like Gun Media using this weekend’s PAX West 2016 to show off its latest Friday the 13th: The Game trailer to plenty of positive reception, it seems as if the event hosted by Penny Arcade this year is heavily driven toward smaller studios’ projects. With that in mind, StudioMDHR has decided to utilize the expo to its advantage by releasing 6 minutes of gameplay of the run-and-gun shooting platformer Cuphead....

D&D Beyond’s Digital Dice public beta launched two days ago, and as a show of solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement they’ll be donating half of all proceeds from the digital dice sets over the next week to said movement. So far the public beta - which has been made available for all D&D users - has gained a lot of traction and positive feedback from players, and hopefully this initiative of theirs will only push it further over the next week....

With Dark Souls 3’s Ringed City DLC set to release later this month, video game publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment has decided to release several fresh screenshots for the second and final expansion for From Software’s action-RPG. For those curious, the recently revealed images provide looks at what the add-on will feature, such as a new boss, new weapons, and more. As seen in the gallery below, Dark Souls 3 fans get a taste of what’s to come in The Ringed City DLC’s weapon department, as what appears to be a new, curved flaming sword and magic staff are on display, while a couple of fearsome foes in the form of a literally heartless antagonist with a blade of fire and an absolutely gigantic dragon – the lattermost of which is likely the expansion’s big, bad boss....

Video game distribution website Good Old Games (GOG.com) recently announced the addition of two new games to their Games in Development schedule: Secret Government and Dead Age 2. Both games are also currently being offered at a 10% discount until July 23rd, 2020. GOG.com’s Games in Development program offers early access to games that are active works in progress, meaning they are as yet unfinished, but in the final stages of their development....

The PvP survival-horror style of Behaviour Interactive’s Dead by Daylight has done a fine job keeping a steady flow of new content for players to come back to. Since releasing on PC in 2016 and consoles a year later, the team behind the cat-and-mouse online survival game has added a myriad of new features, including new maps, killers, and survivors to play as. With Dead by Daylight a few months removed since its last expansion, it looks like it’s time for the new wave a content to be coming....

Dead Cells is getting all-new DLC, and developer Motion Twin dropped a new trailer to get us ready for its March 28, 2019 release! Bungie shows off Felwinter Peak, the new social space that players will be able to explore and utilize once Destiny: Rise of Iron launches this September. Destiny currently sports two social spaces where players can visit vendors, pick up quests, decrypt engrams, and more — the Tower and the Reef. Destiny first launched with the Tower and later added the Reef in the House of Wolves expansion. With the launch of Rise of Iron, another social space will be added to the game....

Bungie explains what happens to last-gen Destiny players after the release of Rise of Iron, the first expansion that will not support the PS3 or Xbox 360. When Bungie announced plans to keep Destiny going for up to 10 years, gamers knew their days on last-gen were numbered. Yes, Destiny 1 was to be a cross-gen experience, but most figured that eventually the franchise would cut out the PS3 and Xbox 360....

With Trials of Osiris back in Destiny 2, fans are ecstatic that such a valuable piece of Destiny 1 has returned. Whether it’s pleasing fans or not currently is a whole other subject. Trials of Osiris was a loved PvP mode that fans missed and urged Bungie to bring back. Players are nostalgic towards Destiny 1 and all the good times they had. Today begins week three of Season of the Splicer in Destiny 2, and with it comes a new pinnacle activity called Expunge: Labyrinth. This mission is similar to Presage and Harbinger, but much shorter and simpler. The mission can be completed solo in about 15 minutes as long as you’re close to 1300 power. All you need to bring is an anti-barrier weapon and Breach and Clear, if you have it....

Once Destiny 2 players have cleared the Berserker encounter in the latest raid, Scourge of the Past, it is time to face the big threat that is assaulting the Black Armory vault: Insurrection Prime. This boss fight is broken up into two major phases, so players should buckle in for a pretty complex encounter. To take down Insurrection Prime, players will need to combine tactics from the Berserker encounter with the new mechanics to make sure this hunk of metal stays down....

Last week, Bungie drew a lot of criticism for the Iron Banner bundle that was added to Destiny 2 alongside the first iteration of the popular Crucible mode for Season 3. The bundle was sold for 1100 Silver (about $10) and included, among other things, an Iron Banner emote that was exclusive to the bundle. Locking an emote connected to a free Destiny 2 event was anything but a smart move for Bungie and it led to a lot of criticism online....

Raids and Nightfalls will be accessible to more players through a new matchmaking system called ‘Guided Games’, which was introduced at the Destiny 2 gameplay livestream today. Guided Games is the solution to solo players frustrated by the original’s exclusivity problems. Additionally, the sequel will receive support features specifically designed to aid Clans. When a solo player in Destiny 2 has finished the main game, is geared, and ready for tougher challenges, they will no longer be limited by their ability to gather enough real-world people to play with....
