The development process can often leave a lot on the cutting room floor, especially for any game that has gone through as long of a process as Cyberpunk 2077. While the gameplay revealed so far looks fantastic, some of the earliest hinted features may have met the axe as a result of the years long development cycle that the game has undergone. Better late than never, DayZ is finally making its way to the PS4 over four years after it was formally announced. After the initial hype died away, resurfaced, and again settled down with a seemingly endless and no updates, today’s PlayStation Blog update shows the title finally arriving at the end of May. The game was first announced as coming to the PS4 during the Gamescom 2014 keynote address made by Sony....

Dead by Daylight’s win conditions are changing for Killers, shifting from a system based on point accumulation to one with specific actionable goals. Patch 1.5.3 went live on July 4, titled the Victory Cube Patch, changing the Killer victory and ranking system from Bloodpoints to Killer Goals. Rather than simply farming Bloodpoints through ambiguous means by emulating killers such as Michael Myers, Killers will now have to actively Hook and kill all Survivors in order to win a Trial and increase their rank....

As with many Japanese visual novel games, Umineko no Naku Koro ni Saku: Nekobako to Musō no Kōkyōkyoku is quite the mouthful. The title translates to When The Seagulls Cry: Symphony of Catboxes and Dreams, which doesn’t really have any bearing on the plot at all. It’s just a funny name that’s hard to parse. For the purposes of simplicity, we’re going to cut the title down to Uminkeo When They Cry, which is also the name of the franchise....

Hidetaka Miyazaki and FromSoftware are best known for hardcore, tough-as-nails action-RPGs, particularly Dark Souls and Bloodborne. With the PlayStation VR-exclusive Deracine, FromSoftware tries something completely different from its usual fare, and while the studio should be commended for taking a risk, it doesn’t really pay off. Deracine is very bizarre. The game is primarily set in a boarding school, where a small group of orphans live with an aging headmaster. Players take on the role of a “faerie,” who is able to explore the boarding school while everything else is frozen in time, interacting with certain objects and manipulating events....

Everyone’s locked inside, the world looks grimmer than ever, and people are looking for any escape they can get from the day-to-day grind, it’s a great time to be Netflix! Or is it? Despite a considerable bump fueled by the pandemic in the first half of 2020, it would seem that earnings have cooled down for the streaming giant. In fact, Netflix failed to meet its new subscriber estimates and overall earnings goal for quarter 3 of 2020, resulting in a significant drop to stock prices....

Much to the appreciation of virtual Guardians everywhere, Bungie is focusing all of its efforts on Destiny: The Taken King in order to improve the title for long-time players and newcomers alike, as well as ensure that the expansion’s release goes off without a hitch. As a matter of fact, Bungie’s ability to dominate social media with posts about the sci-fi MMO on their Twitch and Instagram accounts has led to even more awareness about the game, which means that the studio is at the very least confident about the quality of Destiny’s forthcoming DLC....

Alongside the Titan version of the Contact event and the first steps of the Exodus quest, Destiny 2 introduced a new exotic weapon quest this week. Ruinous Effigy is a new exotic trace rifle added to the Destiny 2 collection that is sure to offer some fun uses in both PvE and PvP. It’s a unique exotic that is strong in its own right, but also has some abilities that can benefit a fireteam....

With the launch of Destiny 2: Season of Opulence, developer Bungie has introduced a new item called the Chalice of Opulence that players can use to farm specific loot. However, in order to get the Chalice to a place where players can “curate” they receive at the end of the Menagerie activity, they will need to upgrade it using Imperials. As of yet, Imperials are somewhat hard to come by, but there are a few proven methods for gaining Imperials in Destiny 2 and one way to farm Imperials that Bungie will likely patch out at some point....

A day after a detailed developer update telling fans the features and changes they should expect to see hit Destiny 2 in the year to come, game director Chris Barrett took to Twitter to talk more about weapons in the game and how they need to matter both in terms of power and the pursuit to acquire them. He also dropped hints about changes to weapons that used to occupy Destiny 1’s Special weapon slot and promised that Bungie is working away at these changes....

Today’s “This Week At Bungie” has given players a new look at where Bungie is planning on taking Destiny 2, especially with how the game plans to revamp the underwhelming Trials of Osiris content to be more rewarding. Additionally, Bungie has hinted at the return of a fan favorite feature that could reward players for completing a challenge from all the way back in the original Destiny. This comes after Bungie already took a considerable amount of feedback about Trials of Osiris for how fans would like to see the endgame content be more rewarding for players....

August 28 will bring the Destiny 2 beta to PC, and the game’s developer has revealed exactly what those on PC can expect from the upcoming beta. For anyone who played (or payed attention to) the console beta in late July, much will remain the same; however, Destiny 2 is saving one surprise for PC players. The PC beta will be the first time players will be able to see and play a new map called Javelin-4, which will host the Control game mode in the beta....

Destiny 2 got big news today. In place of the usual TWAB, which typically recounts recent change and unveils upcoming tweaks, today’s blog update outlines the next several years of Destiny 2’s development, going over relatively near-term changes such as Transmog, Stasis nerfs, and the removal of weapon sunsetting, to medium-term projects such as the delay of 2021’s planned expansion. Assistant game director Joe Blackburn didn’t just stop there, however. The Witch Queen’s delay was a blow to eager Guardians looking forward to the culmination of humanity’s showdown with Savathun, but that’s easily overshadowed by Blackburn’s announcement of future expansions beyond Lightfall....
