It’s been a controversial week for Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming Tomb Raider reboot - after one of the developers implied that there’s an attempted rape scene in the highly anticipated game. The game makers have since refuted the claim, asserting there is no attempted rape scene - since, even in a mature narrative, that kind of story beat would still hit too close to home for some players. However, that doesn’t mean that Lara Croft won’t face a number of grueling and difficult to watch physical and emotional challenges - a set-up that could, as events unfold, cause players to identify differently with the character over time....

Regardless of whether or not you’ve decided to master the intelligence ability in Cyberpunk 2077, you’ll be using some kind of quickhack in order to progress in the game. After an exciting presentation at E3 and breathtaking moments with Keanu Reeves, CD Projekt Red states that its DLC for the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 will be similar to The Witcher 3 in scope but will not be cut from the main game in an attempt to nickel and dime their customers. The Dungeons & Dragons team has announced that they are offering some great free material for players, which comes at the perfect time since everyone is at home practicing social distancing. Players should check back often, as the team states that content will be added daily from Monday to Friday, meaning there is something new to examine often. One of the best free resources is Encounters in Avernus, which features more 60 short encounters that are legal for standardized Adventurer’s League play....

The prestige version of the Leviathan raid is now live in Destiny 2 and this more difficult version of the activity includes some changes to the Pleasure Gardens section. But while these slight tweaks would be enough to confuse some fireteams, one group of players has already managed to breeze right through it. A Destiny 2 fireteam made up of just three players (Gladd, ITS IRON, and Sweatcicle) has successfully managed to beat the Pleasure Gardens section, saying that the challenge wasn’t “difficult” either....

Destiny 2’s Warmind expansion launches in just over a week, and with the expansion comes a new raid lair: Spire of Stars. As with all new activities in Destiny 2, the new raid lair comes with some new gear, and Bungie Senior Concept Artist Ryan Gitter showed off a few weapon concepts that may be coming with the new endgame activity. The concept art show off a fusion rifle and a sidearm that are labelled as “D2 Curse of Osiris Raid Weapons” – all of which were not added in either Leviathan or Eater of Worlds, the raid lair for Curse of Osiris....

It’s been a little over one week since Destiny 2 launched and players are still getting back to their weekly rituals. Earlier this week, Bungie released the Leviathan raid for PvE fans to complete and today Trials of the Nine has arrived for the PvP folk. But while Trials of the Nine may have a lot of similarities to Trials of Osiris, there are plenty of differences as well. As a whole, Trials of the Nine seems more inviting to players, assuming that they can form a group of 4....

Destiny 2: Warmind introduced the new Escalation Protocol endgame activity into the game, which is the closest thing Destiny 2 has ever had to a Horde or Firefight Mode. Players need to survive seven levels (each with four waves) to claim a special set of armor and weapon rewards. It’s a major turning point for Xur in Destiny 2, with the Curse of Osiris DLC looming less than a week away. Soon Xur will appear at a different time when Bungie changes the Destiny 2 reset time and eventually the Agent of the Nine’s inventory will expand to include some new items like the Fated Engram. For now, though, Xur still shows up in Destiny 2 in the middle of the night/early morning and he only has his usual spread of exotic armor and one exotic weapon....

It’s Friday which means the mysterious Destiny 2 vendor Xur is back for players to spend their Legendary Shards on his selection of exotic merchandise. It also means it’s another week for players to get their hands on some new exotic gear thanks in large part to the most recent expansion, Warmind. This week, Xur has left the tower and headed for Jupiter’s moon, Io. Players can find him in his typical spot located within Giant’s Scar in a small cave....

There’s no question that in the gaming community, cheaters are not looked upon in the best light, whether they be in looter shooters like Destiny 2 or more lighthearted games like Mediatonic’s Fall Guys. And whenever one or several of the cheaters gets caught, banned, or otherwise held to account for their actions, there’s a somewhat universal feeling of satisfaction among non-cheaters. Particularly in extremely popular games with a large player base like Destiny 2, where the prevalence of cheaters can truly negatively impact the user experience of other players, oftentimes the angst turns toward the websites who provide the aimbots or hacks that cheaters use....

In an effort to create a fair but competitive environment in the World First race, Destiny 2 developer is adding some new restrictions to the Crown of Sorrows raid on Day 1. Essentially, teams will not be able to over level the content and will have their power levels locked to specific thresholds at each encounter. Bungie’s Luke Smith made the announcement in a blog post on the developer’s website, explaining the raid team’s thinking behind these latest changes....

Destiny 2 will be down for server maintenance on Monday morning/afternoon for at least a few hours, according to developer Bungie. No reason was provided for the maintenance, but given that the game only just released earlier this month it’s likely that the game’s servers need a little more fine-tuning before they are running smoothly. Like Tuesday’s maintenance last week, today’s Destiny 2 server maintenance will take the game offline for four hours starting at 10am ET/7am PT and concluding at 2pm ET/11am PT....

Bungie has confirmed that the chest lockout in Destiny 2 is (in some circumstances) not intentional, and the developer is working on a fix. When exactly this issue might be resolved is unclear, but players can at least breathe a little easier knowing that Bungie is aware and on the case. For those that might not be familiar, there is a bug with chests that prevents them from dropping rewards if players collect too many in a short amount of time....
