Bungie is continuing to reveal its plans to make major changes to Destiny 2 going into the launch of its Year 3 expansion, Shadowkeep. Today Bungie is announcing its plans for changes to the Eververse, its Bright Dust currency, and the premium items previously earned through Eververse/Bright Engrams. Broadly, Bungie is making it easier for Destiny 2 players to equip their Eververse customizations while also improving the paths through which Guardians can earn Bright Dust to buy new Eververse items....

With the release of Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion, Bungie is leaving a lot of features behind in favor of new and improved ones. Among the features and aspects that Destiny 2 is dropping in Year 2 is the +5 Power Level attached to legendary mods. As most know, Destiny 2: Forsaken will include Mods 2.0, a revamp of the current mod system for weapons and armor. Currently, mods are a far cry from what players had hoped, offering very few benefits and small utility....

It’s another weekend of Trials of Osiris and although Destiny 2 players may be excited to see one of the new/returning maps available, there are still complaints. Specifically, players think that Bungie should make a key change to the map Cauldron in order to make it fairer during Trials of Osiris. Cauldron is another returning map from Destiny 1 and a regular option during Trials of Osiris in the first game....

[UPDATE: Bungie says all issues impacting players have been resolved.] Destiny 2 is only a few days into its latest season, Season of the Chosen, but it appears there is a bit of a hiccup in the servers causing some disruption. Season of the Chosen has brought in Caiatl as a major player this season, with the Vanguard disrupting her efforts to strengthen her military might. It is exciting stuff, but if the servers are acting up over at Bungie, it could prevent players from getting at the new content....

Destiny 2 Season of Arrivals introduced Umbral Engrams, the season’s exclusive loot pursuit system. From its simplicity to how much ground the system covers, it is evident that the game benefits greatly from such a loot structure. Every other season during Destiny 2: Shadowkeep also had its own way to pursue loot. However, most loot sources put the focus on weapon bounties. With how much the community has started to resent bounties as a whole, the elegance of the Umbral Engram system has been a breath of fresh air....

The fifth set of Seasonal Challenges have been released for Destiny 2, giving players a new set of Triumphs to complete for Bright Dust, XP, and other goodies. This week’s set of challenges are rather time-consuming, but most of these challenges grant four times as much XP. This week asks you to Masterwork an armor piece, earn five Infamy ranks in Gambit, and earn the Salvager’s Salvo Grenade Launcher. Some of these challenges will take multiple days to complete for casual players, but don’t forget that you have until the rest of the season to complete them....

Even though Destiny 2’s Warmind expansion won’t be available until May 8, some are already looking forward to what comes next. The next expansion after Warmind will launch in September, and as teased by Activision in an earnings call earlier today, it will introduce a game mode that is completely new for first-person shooters. Activision didn’t reveal any additional details about Destiny 2’s new game mode, but it’s interesting that it said the mode is new to the FPS genre....

With Lord Saladin packing up his Iron Banner stand after seven days of intense Crucible fighting, player attention now shifts back to the Leviathan Raid. Last week, Bungie made the disappointing announcement that the Prestige mode for the Leviathan Raid featured a bug, which would delay the start of the mode for another week. The exploit in question makes the final boss fight much easier by removing most of the enemy spawns during the fight....

This week of Destiny’s Challenge of the Elders marks the beginning of the last set of score modifiers. Bungie created 16 unique weeks of combinations for Challenge of the Elders, mixing up modifiers and bosses. Every four weeks the score modifiers (Precision, Grenade, Melee, and Super kills) reset to begin another rotation....

With the launch of Destiny’s House of Wolves DLC expansion earlier this week, Bungie paved the way for a fresh new perspective on their hugely popular shooter. They added new story missions, new gear, and even a set of unique experiences that will challenge Destiny players in fresh ways. Of course, the House of Wolves DLC was not without its expected add-ons as well, like the new Shadow Thief Strike. As the only new strike added to the game this time around, Shadow Thief represents a new challenge for Destiny players, especially those hoping to complete the Weekly Nightfall Strike....

As Destiny heads towards its one year anniversary, Bungie is planning on a massive overhaul before the next major expansion arrives. Starting with weapon balancing, the update also looks to streamline a number of aspects including bounty and quest chains. While gamers continue to wait for the massive update coming prior to Destiny’s The Taken King expansion, Bungie released a smaller hot fix which corrects a number of issues and also affects a certain unique auto rifle which had previously stopped dropping for players....

Exclusive deals are becoming more and more commonplace this generation, typically bringing exclusive content to certain platforms to help the product sell better. More often than not, the exclusivity deal is limited, hitting other platforms after a certain amount of time passes. Other times, much to the chagrin of gamers, the deals are permanent, locking a certain fanbase out from that content entirely. Fans were no doubt shocked after the initial trailer revealed that Street Fighter 5 would be coming to the PlayStation 4 and PC and not the Xbox One....

For the first time since 2010, it’s been over a year since the world has seen a Marvel Studios film. Still, even in the coronavirus pandemic-induced offseason, the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to make headlines. Deadline reports that Marvel has tapped Candyman director Nia DaCosta to helm the heavily anticipated Captain Marvel sequel. The second Captain Marvel film does not currently have a name but is being targeted for a July 8, 2022 release date....

Mario Kart Live has been out for a couple of days now, and while players have been having fun building their own race tracks, their family pets haven’t got the memo. Surprising almost no one, it turns out that Mario Kart Live and cats don’t mix very well. Mario Kart Live is an augmented reality game that combines a real RC car with Mario Kart gameplay via the Switch. A small camera attached to the top of Mario’s RC car provides you a real-time view of the race track that you have built using some special gates and barriers....

Are you determined to experience “Death by Glamour?” Undertale will be having an orchestral concert on September 15, in celebration of the game’s 5th anniversary. It will go live at 7 PM Pacific Time. According to Twinfinite, the concert will be released on the official Undertale YouTube channel. It will be a remastered version of MUSIC Engine’s “7th Concert” performance at the Suntory Hall on May 6, 2019. In addition to the concert, FanGamer will be selling new Undertale-themed merchandise that will help support COVID-19 relief efforts at United Way....

“A Charlie Brown Christmas” is a holiday tradition. That tradition will continue this year…in a slightly different way. In October, Apple TV+ acquired the rights to all of the Peanuts holiday specials including “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” It’s understandable why Apple would want to nab exclusive rights to a beloved IP, but the acquisition also raised some concerns about classic children’s programming going behind corporate paywalls and becoming unavailable to the public at large....

Okay, honestly, the llama thing is really not central to the whole Alto experience. Yes, you can chase down escaped llamas in order to gain additional points, but that’s just one of the many things you can do to get coins and buy new stuff....

GMHikaru is, as the name implies, a chess grandmaster. Because of this, it comes as no surprise that he is able to think tactically at a very quick pace, but a recent clip of him burning through a game of Minesweeper is leaving some viewers speechless. Grandmaster is the highest title a chess player can attain aside from world champion, and Hikaru has the honor of being the youngest American to attain the title as he was only 15 when he was awarded it....

Do you miss SimCity? Sure you do. But like every game franchise, EA eventually ran that franchise straight into the ground. But never fear, since a new game rose up to take its place. It’s called Cities: Skylines, and it is exactly what the 2013 SimCity reboot wished it could have been. A full city simulation program with an easy to understand interface and options to customize almost anything you can think of....
