Cyber Shadow is the latest indie darling to come out of Yacht Club Games, a studio known for the creation of Shovel Knight and its many content expansions. And like Shovel Knight, Cyber Shadow pays homage to the 8-bit classic side-scrolling titles that came long before it, such as Ninja Gaiden, Metroid, and Mega Man, but it manages to stick to its own path and stand out from the crowd. Unlike Yacht Club’s other titles though, Cyber Shadow was developed mostly by one lone developer named Aarne Hunziker from Mechanical Head Studios....

FromSoftware’s Dark Souls trilogy has been praised for its groundbreaking level design, visual direction, and unabashed difficulty. Kevin Feige, the mastermind behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has confirmed that an R-rated Deadpool 3 set in the MCU is in development. Despite Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox putting a swift end to ‘Pool’s established cinematic universe and paving the way for an MCU reboot, Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth will be crossing over into the Avengers’ world. Exactly how this will be explained is unclear, but Deadpool will be able to use his most important superpower – the ability to break the fourth wall – to find a creative way to ingratiate himself into a new franchise and fictional universe (not to mention the comedic mileage he’ll get out of being a Disney property)....

Tabletop card game fans can now battle Barbatos, The Batman Who Laughs, in Cryptozic Entertainment’s latest DC Deck-Building Game Dark Nights: Metal. Cryptozic Entertainment’s DC Deck-Building Games are based upon their Cerberus Engine, a set of game mechanics for deck building games. In addition to their DC Universe games, the engine has powered the likes of Steven Universe: Beach-a-Palooza, Epic Spell Wars, and many other games in their current catalog. It follows a similar trend to Fantasy Flight Games’ Living Card Games, by providing the core box and expansions with a fixed set of cards that players can use to build out their deck for play....

World of WarCraft’s new Shadowlands expansion adds some much-needed updates to the character creation system. Characters can now appear more closely to concept art than ever with new and unique additions to each race. Some of the most notable changes come in the form of brand new hairstyles, eye & skin colors, and accessories. While these are great changes, it paves the way for even more possibilities in the near future....

The Warhammer Skulls Showcase showed off some gameplay for Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Tempestfall. The VR version of Warhammer’s fantasy setting will let you rip off the heads of undead with your own hands, as well as take part in a full story campaign set after the Necroquake. One fan painstakingly recreates the Millenial Fair, one of the most memorable settings in Chrono Trigger, in glorious 3D graphics. YouTuber praetus uploaded a video a few days ago that details his process in building the iconic Chrono Trigger location using the Unreal 4 engine. The result is predictably gorgeous, and the work praetus put into the finer points of his recreation are easily the most impressive as well. In particular, praetus’ work on the teleporters at the Millenial Fair makes a strong case for a high-definition remake of one of the greatest time travel games of all time....
