Late last month, March 25, North American professional gaming organization Chaos Esports Club announced that their entire roster of Dota 2 players were being released from their contracts. The given reason for the disbanding was the suspension of the 2020 Dota Pro Circuit due to the COVID-19 pandemic....

Fans of the real-time strategy series Command & Conquer have had it rough for the last several years. A reboot of the series was in development circa 2013 courtesy of developer Victory Games but publisher EA ultimately canceled the project, as well as closed down the studio. One of the weirder updates to be developed by the game’s community, a new mod will see Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players putting away the guns in order to do battle as chickens instead. The mod is called Chikken, and it turns Valve’s popular shooter into a Tekken-based parody where users will compete in 1v1 combat with other chickens. The CS:GO mod is in the early days of development at the moment, with the chickens only having access to movement, basic pecks, and the occasional burst of lazer eyes....

They said it’s to ensure the game’s quality across the many, many versions that will release now on December 10th, while also noting that “going gold” is a meaningless milestone in determining when a game actually releases....
CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 had a rough launch, as the game was inundated with bugs - particularly on PS4 and Xbox One, and the studio has been involved in multiple controversies since. As a result, refunds have been offered to Cyberpunk 2077 players, the game was pulled off the PlayStation Store, and CD Projekt Red has been investigated by the Polish Consumer Protection Agency as well as sued by its investors....
Ray Fisher, the actor that plays Cyborg in the DC Extended Universe, “forcefully retracts” his praise of Joss Whedon’s Justice League reshoot in a tweet which gave little to no context. Fisher shared a clip of him admiring Whedon, claiming that he was a good choice to come clean up for Zack Snyder, only to retract that statement harshly. Cuphead has been wildly successful as a shoot-em-up game not just for its gameplay, but also because of the unique art style it uses. In a move that may disappoint those attending this year’s E3 Expo, THQ Nordic has decided it will not be showcasing its upcoming titles at the event, including flagship release Darksiders 3, instead choosing to watch the 2018 FIFA World Cup. THQ Nordic released a statement citing the impractical time difference between Santa Monica and Russia (where the World Cup is being held) as the reason why it and Darksiders 3 will be absent at E3....
After Bohemia Interactive released a major content update for DayZ on June 30, it quickly went back to work to resolve all the new issues that arose after its release. Now, with DayZ’s 1.17 July 2 Hotfix update, the developer has sent out a first wave of patches for issues. According to the complete patch notes from DayZ’s associate producer, players can no longer place tents “from large height differences.” Weapons will also no longer break when players try to load bullets....
Last November, developer Motion Twin revealed that Dead Cells would be getting a Christmas update in mid-December. As promised, the latest content update for Dead Cells is now available, bringing the much-anticipated rework to Malaise, alongside new Mutations, new enemies and weapons, and of course, holiday-themed outfits. For players who are in the holiday spirit, new content in Dead Cells includes festive outfits that allow players to dress The Beheaded into Santa Claus or Frosty the Snowman....
Sorry, got lost there. They aren’t just going to reintroduce the character like Jameson, though. We’re getting Deadpool 3 and it’s going to be rated R. This will be a sequel…but in a different continuity than its first two films. Interesting novelty. Deadpool 3 is the ultimate wild card because we don’t really know how it’s going to really work. Just the idea of Deadpool 3 being part of MCU canon fills the room with elephants....
