It’s no secret that blockbuster games take hundreds of development hours and manpower to create. Even then, sheer manpower and effort doesn’t necessarily translate into success. It’s why project managers like to throw around the concept of Brooks’ Law, in that “adding manpower to a late software project makes it later.” While that’s not always accurate, it rang uncomfortably true for the broken release of Cyberpunk 2077. Every version had its fair share of game-breaking bugs, but the PS4/Xbox One versions had various technical issues and consistent fail states....

Cyberpunk 2077 features a very subtle, but very intriguing homage to the history and origins of Polish game development - or, more specifically, computational thought, which stretches as far back as World War 2. There’s a sequence about ten hours or so into Cyberpunk 2077 - depending on which quests you prioritize - during which you’re tasked with accompanying Panam Palmer to a facility in the Badlands. I won’t spoil what you’re there to do, or what happens throughout the quest, although I do want to discuss a couple of lines of dialogue that transpire during the car ride there....

The Dark Souls franchise is known for its punishing but fair difficulty and incredible lore. Even though the game has tough boss fights and unforgiving PvP, all Dark Souls games do a great job of giving the player multiple avenues to improve their character. One major part of improving a character is upgrading their weapons. This is especially true in Dark Souls 3 since upgrading armor was removed. Increasing weapon damage is key to making both PvE and PvP easier....

Like all the gimmick bosses in Dark Souls 3, High Lord Wolnir can be defeated without too much trouble if one knows what to expect, however, for newcomers to the game (or careless veterans), this immensely huge skeleton can pose some unique challenges found nowhere else in the game. Despite there being a great many ways to destroy his bracelets and cast him into The Abyss, Wolnir has some tricks up his bony sleeves that can spell the end for unwary players....

Anyone who has survived even just a few hours of a Dark Souls game is well aware that the franchise is set in a very serious, dark environment. The setting of full of monstrosities and the player character is working to save the world from complete and total disaster....

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train just had its opening weekend here in North America, and by all accounts, it did pretty well. The movie made $19.5 million in the US and Canada last weekend, which doesn’t sound like a lot compared to the hundred million weekends of summer blockbusters, but it’s an impressive number for a foreign-language film. So impressive, in fact, that Demon Slayer now holds the top spot for the highest-grossing opening weekend for a foreign-language film in North America, just edging out previous record-holder Hero, which opened to $17....

Traditionally, Destiny 2 has a lot of collectibles that fans can gather. For the Destiny 2 Beyond Light expansion, there are new Dead Exo locations scattered across the map for players to collect. There are nine total Exo locations spread out across the Europa area in Destiny 2, only three of them are needed to complete the first step towards “The Lament” quest. And for fans who wish to be overachievers, finding all nine will grant them the “Salvage the Past Triumph” achievement....

The demand for major new Destiny 2 content has remained strong over the past year. After 2019’s Shadowkeep expansion topped the Steam sale charts at launch, its follow-up expansion, Beyond Light, has pulled off an impressive sales feat of its own, becoming not just the highest-selling game on the platform, but the second-highest too. It’s been a hectic couple of weeks for Destiny 2, as the Beyond Light expansion shook things up dramatically. Players visited a brand new location, uncovered the secrets of Darkness, and experienced the long-awaited Deep Stone Crypt Raid. But the season still has much to offer, one of them being the Dawning, Bungie’s annual holiday event. Like every year, Dawning 2020 will offer new sets of armor to acquire, which are normally hidden until the event trailer hits....

It’s Black Friday and many gamers are likely fighting tooth and nail for a deal on a 4K TV or a new PS4 bundle. Some may even be picking up Destiny 2 at a discount and rushing home to see what the game offers. While it would be fun if Xur sold some of his exotics at a discount, past experience with Destiny 1 has shown that the Agent of the Nine is not a fan of sales....

The excitement over the last season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars could not be higher as the series enters into its last few episodes before it wraps up for good. However, the same can’t be said right now for Destiny 2, which has experienced quite a few ups and downs throughout its Year 3 content drops. While The Clone Wars, being an animated series, and Destiny 2, being a live service action-adventure MMO first-person shooter, are completely different beasts with their own formulas to get just right, there’s one lesson in particular that Destiny 2 should take from this last season of The Clone Wars....

Destiny 2: Beyond Light has been dealing with a few persistent bugs over the past month, the most enjoyable of which has been a bug that allows Guardians to form 12-man Fireteams to take on various content in the game. From Nightfalls to Raids, Guardians have been using 12-man Fireteams in Destiny 2 to power through content that was not designed for more than 6 Guardians max. While many bugs can be fixed relatively quickly, others are more complicated and sometimes require the cancellation of certain game modes until a patch can be implemented....

Destiny 2: Forsaken got its debut story trailer at Sony’s E3 conference today, and it shows the death of fan-favorite Cayde-6 at the hands of returning Destiny 1 character Prince Uldren. Hardcore fans expressed their sadness at the loss of Cayde-6 online directly after the debut of the trailer, and a sliver of hope remained that at some point in the future Cayde-6 will return from the dead. But that’s not in cards according to Bungie....

All Destiny 2 players should clear out their Postmaster prior to the game being taken offline for maintenance at 9:30 a.m. Pacific on August 28, 2018, to ensure that they do not lose any of their items. The warning comes straight from developer Bungie, who says that there is a risk of items unintentionally being deleted with the major changes coming within Update 2.0. Players should make sure their Postmasters are clear, and it also wouldn’t hurt to make sure that there are openings in each weapon slot on their characters....

Bungie’s building up hype leading into Destiny 2’s Season 3 debut for Iron Banner, revealing a close look at all three classes’ season-exclusive ornament rewards. As with Season 2, Destiny 2’s third season will feature its own exclusive ornamentation for Iron Banner and likely other events like Faction Rally, too Iron Banner starts for the first time in Season 3 on May 22, so Bungie debuted the new Iron Banner ornaments with this past Thursday’s “This Week at Bungie....

Reworks to exotic weapons and the new exotic masterwork system have been highlights of the new Destiny 2: Warmind expansion. Guardians who enjoy hunting for the various catalysts will find their searches a touch easier in a future update, as Bungie has plans to increase drop rates. According to a community manager on the Destiny 2 Reddit, Bungie will implement slight adjustments to drop chances for Strike catalysts in update 1....

Carol Danvers is bringing two fan-favorites on board for the highly anticipated sequel to Captain Marvel. Ms. Marvel – who holds Danvers’s previous moniker – and Monica Rambeau – the first woman to hold the title Captain Marvel – will both join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kevin Feige announced the news during the news during the Disney Investor Day call. Monica will make her debut when Teyonah Parris (Dear White People) plays her in WandaVision, the mysterious and highly stylized Disney+ show that seems to be taking on a version of the “House of M” comic storyline, while also taking some cues from I Love Lucy and The Brady Bunch....

The Castlevania series offers no shortage of powerful heroes. While many of them are trained vampire hunters, among the rarest examples of protagonists include werewolves, vampires, or something even darker. Some of the protagonists were accompanied by powerful fighters or magic users such as Maria, Carrie, and Charlotte. However, the focus on the main protagonists will include wielders of the Vampire Killer, the first choice playable character in games that feature multiple options....
