Phoenix Labs has revealed that the Vault in Dauntless will soon be closed as a brand-new system called the Rewards Cache will take its place, launching with several new ways of earning the newest currency to purchase all kinds of in-game items. To celebrate the retirement of the Vault, nearly 100 items are currently available for sale including sets that have never been available before. These will remain on sale until April 7, when the Vault will then be locked for good, with the Rewards Cache taking its place permanently....

Not only is Sony working on a brand new PlayStation VR headset alongside controllers, but some of its library is making the leap to PC. This already happened with Death Stranding and Horizon Zero Dawn, but now Days Gone is joining in on the fun. This is starting in Spring, but Days Gone is just the catalyst as it will kickstart a “whole slate” of ports. What these will be is unknown at this time, but perhaps Sony is attempting to rival Xbox’s approach of putting its games onto PC to breach the exclusivity barrier....

Since launch, Behaviour Interactive’s asymmetric multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight has seen the debut of three iconic horror movie villains, with the likes of Halloween’s Michael Myers, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s Leatherface, and most recently, A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Krueger joining the fray. As Dead by Daylight’s popularity grows, fans can expect Behaviour Interactive to reach out to more film studios in the hopes of using their characters in the game....

Whenever it comes to remaking or remastering a game like Demon’s Souls, the questions of what to remove and what to keep is always one of the hardest parts of development. While it may seem obvious that every little thing has to stay in order to maintain the integrity of the original game, sometimes developers like Bluepoint need to make changes, even to Demon’s Souls. One of these changes in particular has quickly elevated to meme status, as popular FromSoftware-related content creators like Iron Pineapple have begun sharing a UI change that appears to be universally disliked....

As part of their E3 2015 presence, developer Bungie wanted to give Destiny fans a full suite of experiences. To start, they highlighted the story of the next major Destiny expansion, The Taken King, with a brief story mission called ‘The Coming War.’ In the mission, players meet Oryx, father to raid boss Crota, who it seems has a big vendetta against the Guardians. But, of course, the confrontation with Oryx was just a small slice of the pie, and is focused purely on PvE....

It’s the last weekend before the big Destiny 2 gameplay reveal, which means Bungie and fans are almost set to fully shift into full sequel mode. Granted, in many ways the studio has already done so, but for players there is still a lot left to do in Destiny 1, like collecting every exotic item in the game. To assist with that goal, Xur has arrived to bring Destiny players the last exotic item he has yet to sell....

While there’s no question that Destiny 1 was a success by all conventional metrics, the game had its fair share of stumbles as well. PvP in Destiny was always a work in progress, and when it came to balancing the experience, Bungie made some questionable choices. Luckily for Destiny 2, Bungie is planning to do things differently, by balancing PvP and PvE separately and implementing systems that allow the devs to tweak specific weapons not the archetype....

The second week of the Solstice of Heroes event in Destiny 2 is in full swing as players continue to progress their special armor and defeat enemies in the EAZ. While the event itself isn’t without flaws, Bungie has thankfully corrected a number of issues with this week’s hot fix. The big change is that the weekly EAZ challenges have not only been restored, but it should be issuing a powerful reward as expected....

Week two of the Olympic inspired event Guardian Games kicked off earlier in the week and to most players surprise, the Titan class has been winning every day since the Hunters took day 1. Even with the Hunters population much larger than either Warlocks or Titans, the heavy hitting class has been showing up in force. While some have cried foul over potential glitches or bugs, Bungie has confirmed that no such foul play has been happening....

After each new Destiny raid releases and players make their way through the encounters, most are happy to just get through the boss fight or puzzle, collect their loot, and move on. However, some of Destiny’s elite have a question lingering in the back of their minds, “What is the minimum amount of people necessary to complete this encounter?” For each encounter, most players figured a minimum count, and then these elite players surpass those expectations....

Analyst Doug Creutz states that Destiny’s new cosmetic microtransactions could help the game generate ‘hundreds of millions’ of additional revenue per year. Bungie’s recent decision to add microtransactions to its first-person shooter Destiny was one that was met with a great deal of controversy. Like with many AAA titles, the addition of add-on payments is not a popular move, but one that has become increasingly prominent in recent games. Beginning next week, Destiny will see the introduction of a new in-game currency called Silver, which will be spent at Tower vendor Tess Everis and can only be redeemed using real money....

As revealed back in September, Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition is launching this week on the PS5 and Xbox Series X - bringing with it Vergil mode, the game’s defining feature. In a recent interview with Siliconera, Capcom producer Matt Walker discussed what we can expect from it. Walker touched on what players can expect to experience from Vergil’s - Dante’s brother - perspective. It was noted that the game’s director Hideaki Itsuno wanted Vergil’s essence to remain intact to the player, by only adding elements that would “emphasize his uniqueness....

The official portable video game tie-in for Captain America: The First Avenger has finally hit store shelves in in the form of Captain America: Super Soldier for the Nintendo DS. Griptonite Games was the studio tasked with creating the DS version of the game, and the result is less than an ideal title. Captain America: Super Soldier does very few things right, and the few things that are even a little fun get pretty old rather quickly....

ByteDance, the Beijing-based company behind the short-video app Tiktok, has announced that its willing to sell off its American operations completely. The company hopes that by doing this, it’ll be able to keep the Trump administration from banning the app in the US. The Trump administration has had its eye on banning TikTok for a while now. According to The Verge, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on July 7th that a ban was “something we’re looking at,” and just yesterday, Trump himself told reporters on Air Force One that he’d give the order to ban TikTok via executive action as early as today....

The game draws inspiration from games such as Lunar: Silver Star, Eternal Blue, Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and Silent Hill, relying more on the horror genre itself, rather than jump scares.
