Introducing cyberpunk action-shooter Foreclosed, an exciting game whose announcement was unfortunately overshadowed by the past two days’ PS5 news. Foreclosed was announced during IGN’s Summer of Gaming broadcast with a gameplay reveal trailer and a short developer interview from Merge Games. Foreclosed is tentatively planned for release mid-2021. Foreclosed is designed to play like an interactive comic book, with heavily styled visuals and panel-based cinematics inspired by Max Payne. But Foreclosed isn’t just aping comic aesthetics for fun, though....

Video games can have complex storylines or interesting characters just like movies or books. The Mortal Kombat franchise started out as a fairly simple fighting platform that would change gaming forever, and it’s not just the novelty of gore that made it appealing. The characters were more than shallow stereotypes. They had backstories, moral alignments, and personal opinions. Initially, the characters in Mortal Kombat had scant, mysterious backstories, but several games and feature films later, they’ve been fleshed out a lot more....

Just when Dark Souls players thought that the bosses couldn’t get any harder and only go up to second phases, along came Sister Friede from the Ashes of Ariandel DLC. Friede, along with Father Ariandel, is a three-phase boss fight because your sanity is an afterthought to the developers. This can throw lots of players off-guard and cause tons of frustration– as if studying two phases wasn’t enough already. Still, like any Dark Souls 3 boss, defeating Sister Friede is a matter of practice along with some valuable knowledge lent to players by experienced and traumatized Dark Souls 3 veterans....

As many Dark Souls 3 fans are well aware at this point, From Software’s latest action-RPG has an abundance of trolls populating its PvP landscape, and it looks as if the game’s latest expansion, The Ringed City DLC, is no exception. As a matter of fact, while taking on the latest add-on, one player decided to get too chummy with another fan when they crossed paths, which ended up costing him his life....

Fans of Apex Legends are going to have to limit their expectations of a night version of World’s Edge it seems, as data miners have looked into the game’s code and have decided that images circulating online of a night version are either a glitch or a fake. While one would assume that because King’s Canyon has a nighttime version World’s Edge would get the same treatment, it appears that the developers haven’t made it that far yet....

A lot of fans may be happy with Deadly Premonition 2, but it’s hard to deny that things are wrong with the game. It not only runs with an absolutely unacceptable framerate, but it has a rather troubling depiction of a trans character and hints of racism within its dialogue. There’s certainly room for improvement and a new patch seems to be making steps in the right direction. Available right now, fans can download the first performance fix for Deadly Premonition 2 that partially addresses the framerate issues....

Most of Demon’s Souls is spent battling unsightly demons and those that have lost their souls to these beasts, but there are a few fellow humans that players will encounter along the way. Those that still have their sanity such as Stockpile Thomas, the Dregling Merchant, Biorr of the Twin Fang, and others will often appear as allies to the player, but some manifest as Black Phantoms to try and kill them instead....

While much of the fan base is celebrating the release of the first Destiny 2 trailer, the world of Destiny 1 continues on as usual. In fact, Destiny is the liveliest it has been in some time thanks to the new Age of Triumph live event, which is meant to celebrate the full breadth of Bungie’s experience over the last three years. A key component of that experience has been Xur, the exotic vendor that sets up shop in the Tower (or sometimes The Reef) for the weekend....

Players of Bungie’s Destiny 2 take on the role of Guardians that protect the Earth and the Solar System from a wide range of alien threats. As such, players have access to weapons such as the Auto Rifles to go wild with their encounters or Sniper Rifles to attack from a safe distance. However, Guardians who want to master their mid-range combat abilities can rely on Pulse Rifles. Unlike other weapon variants, Pulse Rifles fit perfectly well with players who want to dart around the battlefield....

Now that Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion is out in the wild, there are surely a plethora of Guardians delving into all of the DLC’s content as we speak, and doing their best to earn access to the action-RPG shooter’s fabled Dreaming City. As an added bonus to the latest add-on’s materials, Bungie has also decided to offer players the chance to snag a copy of Forsaken’s full digital soundtrack for free....

Earlier this month Sony announced that PSN users would be able to change their PSN ID names in the near future, but then went on to say a few days ago that doing so carries with it some possible negative side effects including losing access to DLC, content, saved games, and more. In light of this information, players are clearly concerned about losing progress they have made and content that they have paid for....

Weapon balancing has long been the most difficult issue for Bungie to tackle throughout the lifetime of Destiny 2 and even during the lifetime of its predecessor. However, when a weapon is completely broken and sends itself to the top of every tier list of weapon builds, then it becomes an easy choice for any developer to deliver a nerf in order to set the game back in order. In Bungie’s latest “This Week At Bungie” weekly blog post, the Destiny 2 developer laid out its plans to update the game in the next patch with a number of bug fixes....

Bungie and Activision officially reveal Destiny 2’s PC features. Destiny 2 was announced for PC alongside its console counterparts last month, much to the delight of PC gamers who missed out on the first game in the shooting franchise. The PC version of Destiny 2 will feature a variety of features that hardcore PC gamers should enjoy. These include a “detailed” PC settings screen, an adjustable field of view, text chat, 21:9 monitor support and text chat....

Activision Blizzard declares intentions to have Bungie’s forthcoming science fiction shooter, Destiny 2, “broaden the franchise’s global reach” with the game’s release. It’s no secret at this point in time that Destiny 2 is not only one of the most highly anticipated video games of 2017, but also one of the most eagerly awaited sequels of all time, with fans clamoring for any and all information about the followup they can learn....

Warmind, Destiny 2’s next expansion, is just days away from launching and adding new content on both the PvE and PvP side of the game, including two Crucible maps that Bungie has just officially revealed. The two maps are titled Meltdown and Solitude, and both look like they take place on Mars, the destination of focus in Destiny 2’s Warmind DLC. There is not a lot of information to go on, but based on the screenshots and what has been revealed about Warmind so far, it appears that Meltdown takes place in a Clovis Bray facility in the Braytech Futurescape while Solitude takes place on the polar ice caps of Hellas Basin....

After a quick off-week for Destiny 2, the Tower welcomes back Lord Saladin for the first time in Season 2. Fans of PvP Crucible gameplay can once again take part in Iron Banner matches over the next seven days to score some new armor and weapons. Based on Bungie’s most recent update, it appears Iron Banner is following in the footsteps of the most recent Faction Rally event where new gear will be slowly rolled out over time, with the full slate of loot available in the last seasonal event....

After a few weeks of sporadic leaks about Destiny 2, a major leak has exposed a lot of information about the upcoming sci-fi shooter. One of those leaks says that Destiny 2 will launch with five strikes, plus an additional exclusive strike for those who are playing the game on PlayStation 4. That is actually the exact same number of strikes that Destiny 1 shipped with back in 2014. The first game also had five strikes and one PlayStation exclusive....

After a long road of adjustments to Destiny 2’s XP bar and issues with Bungie intentionally throttling XP gains, there’s another problem with the game’s XP bar. Thankfully, the biggest issue in-game has already been resolved, but players should be aware that when viewing XP gains within any application using the Destiny 2 API, the total XP will be displayed incorrectly. The change was part of Update 1.1.2 that went live in the game on Tuesday, which was meant to reduce the amount of XP required to earn an Illuminated Engram from 160,000 to 120,000....
