After a delay unfortunately over extended the current season beyond what Bungie and players had hoped for, the Beyond Light expansion for Destiny 2 is now only weeks away. More and more information has started to appear both from Bungie as well as the community including details from the Collector’s Edition that were sent out earlier than expected. The items included within the package have revealed new details about the characters as well as a community hunt to solve a new mysterious puzzle bungled in as well....

Expunge: Tartarus is the third Expunge mission in Destiny 2’s Season of the Splicer. Previous missions tasked Guardians with infiltrating a labyrinth and escorting data keys, so what does this mission have in store? In essence, you’ll need to destroy Vex cubes while you have a time-sensitive buff. If you can get past a myriad of traps and Vex, you’ll be greeted by a Hydra boss. While this is by no means the best Expunge for grinding bounties or challenges, this is one of the fastest Expunge missions in Destiny 2....

After the console beta for Destiny 2, there were a few common critiques and question marks shared by many of the game’s fans, which revolved around Destiny 2’s new weapon system and ability cooldowns. While ability cooldowns felt far too slow in the beta and some walked away unconvinced of the rearrangement of weapon slots, Bungie assured fans that the beta was a months-old build of the game and that many of those complaints had already been addressed....

Bungie dropped a hefty amount of new information and footage for Destiny 2: Forsaken today. Included in the new media is a trailer centered around The Dreaming City, Forsaken’s end-game zone. Bungie has already stated that the Dreaming City is going to be a world unto itself, filled with combat challenges to overcome and puzzles to solve. It certainly looks like there’s plenty to get excited for here, possibly even more for those who are lore fans....

During the reveal of Destiny 2: Forsaken, which looks to be a huge game-changer for Bungie’s sci-fi shooter, the developer also showed off a new roadmap filled with upcoming new changes for the game. After the reveal, one of the big questions among fans was how many of the features listed on that roadmap would be available to all players and which ones would only be available to those who purchase the Forsaken expansion....

A mod that allowed Cyberpunk players to have sex with Johnny Silverhand has been swiftly removed from the game by CDPR. Cyberpunk 2077 mods are a hot topic of conversation right now. CD Projekt Red added official support tools to the game for modders playing Cyberpunk on PC. It might have tripped up in countless ways when it comes to Cyberpunk, but allowing players to mod to their heart’s content is a refreshing change....

Much ado has been made about how, in the absence of any new Stranger Things episodes this year, Netflix is seeking to fill the Halloween binge-watching void with Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. A sort of companion show to the CW’s Riverdale that features members of the same creative team — including showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (who liberally adapts his comic of the same name) — this effort feels like a much more grounded affair, which is odd given how its main character is a teenage witch whose family worships Satan....

A few months removed from the Cuphead episode with Kate Upton, Conan O’Brien’s Clueless Gamer segment is back. This time the popular talk show host is playing Middle-earth: Shadow of War with celebrity guest Kumail Nanjiani, which is fitting considering Nanjiani provides the voice for an orc called The Agonizer in the game. The fans who hold an annual vigil for an official Mother 3 localization announcement now have a new reason to be sad, as concept art for an EarthBound/Mother game for the GameCube that was never made has been revealed on Twitter. There is a book being released in Japan called Iwata-San that collects the writings of former Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, who sadly passed away in 2015. Iwata-San will also contain recollections of Iwata written by different prominent figures from Nintendo, including Shigeru Miyamoto and Shigesato Itoi....

The DualSense controller is home to many, if not most, of the innovations that set the PS5 apart from other consoles and gaming platforms. The unique features that the new controller provides push the boundaries of what gamepads are capable of, not just acting as a way to input commands but also giving a level of tactile feedback that can completely change the gameplay experience. Some of the best games from recent years could be improved even further if they were updated to support DualSense features, and 2019’s Control is a perfect example....

One of Steam’s most incredible records has been broken, as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive overtook Dota 2 for the highest concurrent players of all time. As of Saturday, April 18, the new record stands at an astonishing 1,305,000 concurrent players, breaking the previous record for the second day in a row. Dota 2’s record had been just short of 1.3 million concurrent players. It wouldn’t be surprising if Counter-Strike: Global Offensive continued to stretch the record higher week to week going forward....

The OpenIV modding group has an update on its “Liberty City in GTA V” project, which is a total conversion mod bringing Grand Theft Auto 4 into Grand Theft Auto 5. The effort is on track and scheduled to release a beta version of the mod in spring 2017 as planned. Accompanying the announcement were several new screenshots showing off the mod, as well as a reconfirmation that a second group is now working on bringing Red Dead Redemption into Grand Theft Auto 5 as well....

Few games have been the blueprint for a genre like Counter-Strike is for economy-based FPS games. In Counter-Strike, players receive money each round — depending on numerous factors — that they can spend on weapons, armor, and utility items such as grenades. Not all weapons were created equally and a gun’s effectiveness does not correlate to its price point, though. Players have to pick and choose which gun they can buy based on how much money is available to them for that round....
