Ever since Destiny 2: Shadowkeep introduced Armor 2.0, theorycrafting has become a much more integral part of the game. Season of Dawn furthered this trend by introducing the Charged With Light mechanic that many seasonal mods play off of.
Season of Arrivals has doubled down on this mechanic. Those that choose to maximize their characters will find plenty of new interesting buffs to utilize this season. As for Guardians who care little about maximizing their builds, the new Arrivals mods might win them over with how applicable they are to certain playstyles. Here are 10 Season of Arrivals mods that players won’t want to miss.
10 Argent Ordnance
Rocket Launchers are an unpopular Heavy weapon choice in Destiny 2’s current meta. Their damage is lacking against bosses, which is what Argent Ordnance tries to fix.
For 5 Solar energy, Argent Ordnance will grant all Rockets a 20% damage bonus after damaging a powerful combatant for a few seconds, consuming 1 stack of Charged With Light. Weapons with Ambitious Assassin or the Truth Exotic Rocket Launcher can get 2 to 3 rockets off before the buff disappears. Interestingly, this mod stacks on itself if applied on multiple pieces of armor. It might not be strongest seasonal mod in Destiny 2, but it gives players a good excuse to try out Rocket Launchers again.
9 Charge Harvester
Guardians that don’t want to create entire builds around Charged With Light should heavily consider using Charge Harvester. For 3 Void energy, this mod will grant a small cumulative change at a Charged With Light stack for every kill and assist a player gets.
Since it’s a Void mod, Charge Harvester will reduce a stat by 10. In this case, it reduces the player’s stat that governs their class ability recharge rate. The Charged With Light stacks might not be as frequent as a dedicated build around them, but this is fantastic for players that want to gain the benefits of Charged With Light without radically changing their playstyle. This is especially handy in PvP builds.
8 Energy Converter
Energy Converter is a seasonal mod that, for the cost of 4 Void energy, will consume all Charged With Light stacks in exchange for Super energy when a grenade is thrown.
As players obtain more Charged With Light stacks, the effect of this mod greatly increases. At 5 stacks, Energy Converter will grant half of a player’s Super. It’s a strong mod for certain builds using Demolitionist or high Discipline, but this mod does little in Crucible. The values in PvP are much lower and can not raise a player’s Super bar above 50%. For PvE players, however, this is a great mod for getting rapid Super casts.
7 Sustained Charge
Multikills on rapid-fire weapons such as Auto Rifles and Machine Guns are easy to pull off. For players not keen on using Taking Charge, Sustained Charge is a great alternative.
Sustained Charge will grant a stack of Charged With Light after obtaining multikills with Auto Rifles, Trace Rifles, or Machine Guns. It costs 4 Solar energy to equip, making it slightly more expensive than Taking Charge. Unlike other Season of Dawn mods that do something similar, the multikill requirement for Sustained Charge is around 3 to 5 enemies before it activates. With that said, being able to obtain Charged With Light stacks without having to move over Orbs of Light can be useful in harder content such as Master Nightfalls.
6 Lucent Blade
Swords have gone from being an underrated Heavy weapon category to one of the most meta-defining archetypes in Destiny 2’s PvE activities. Lucent Blade helps cement its place in player loadouts.
While Charged With Light, dealing damage with a Sword will consume one stack in exchange for a 50% damage boost for Swords for 5 seconds. This buff is stronger than Weapons of Light and even Lumina’s Blessing of the Sky buff. It also has a set bonus that greatly reduces the charge time of heavy attacks, making it a perfect mod for the Falling Guillotine Sword added this season. For 4 Arc energy, Lucent Blade is a must-have for Sword users.
5 Precision Charge
Fans of Hand Cannons, Bows, or Scout Rifles should consider using Precision Charge in their next armor build. This mod allows those weapons to obtain a stack of Charged With Light after obtaining a series of precision multikills.
Just as with other stack generating mods this season, it requires 3 to 5 kills in quick succession instead of 2. Unlike most Charge-granting mods, Precision Charge only costs 2 Void energy at the cost of 10 Strength. Those that want to build up Charged With Light for Protective Light or similar situational mods should highly consider using this mod.
4 Radiant Light
As Powerful Friends from Season of Dawn was a must-have mod for players seeking Mobility, Guardians that want a massive boost to their Strength stat will want to use Radiant Light.
After the player casts their Super, every ally nearby will gain a stack of Charged With Light. It costs 3 Arc energy, but using another Arc mod with it will grant a massive +20 boost to Strength. Bottom tree Nightstalkers and most Titan builds will want to consider this mod solely for its Strength bonus.
3 Reactive Pulse
Originally, Reactive Pulse had an incorrect mod description that stated it granted Orbs of Light after finishing a combatant. After Bungie patched its mod description, players have started gravitating towards using this mod for aggressive close-range builds.
When a player gets attacked while surrounded by 3 or more foes, Reactive Pulse will consume a stack of Charged With Light to deal a moderate amount of damage around the player. The damage is comparable to a Warmind Cell detonation, and the mod can not activate more than once every 15 seconds. Reactive Pulse costs 3 Arc energy.
2 Supercharged
Supercharged allows Guardians to carry 2 additional stacks of Charged With Light up to a cap of 5. Since the default Charged With Light cap is 2, this mod will only allow for a maximum of 4 unless either a second Supercharged mod or the Charged Up mod from Season of Dawn is equipped.
This mod is incredibly useful for players that want to have near-constant uptime of Protective Light or gain the most out of Surprise Attack or Energy Converter. Anyone that wants to take full advantage of mods that consume whole stacks of Charged With Light should unquestionably fit this mod into their build. Supercharged costs 5 Solar energy.
1 Surprise Attack
Sidearms received a noticeable buff in Season of Dawn, but it seems that Bungie thought they needed even more damage. This mod also costs only 1 Void energy at the cost of 10 Intellect.
When a player reloads or swaps to their Sidearm, Surprise Attack will convert all stacks of Charged With Light to a powerful Sidearm buff. This buff grants a massive 200% damage bonus for every Sidearm shot that hits a target, stacking with buffs like Kill Clip and Weapons of Light. Combined with Mechaneer’s Tricksleeves on Hunters, players can grant any Sidearm the damage output of a Heavy weapon.
