After each new Destiny raid releases and players make their way through the encounters, most are happy to just get through the boss fight or puzzle, collect their loot, and move on. However, some of Destiny’s elite have a question lingering in the back of their minds, “What is the minimum amount of people necessary to complete this encounter?”
For each encounter, most players figured a minimum count, and then these elite players surpass those expectations. And now it has happened again, with the 2-man Riven completion.
At the bare minimum, most figured that there would need to be 4 players to complete the Riven boss fight in the Last Wish raid. And 4 player teams did manage to beat the encounter. But then a few exploits were discovered, and now a 2-man team has done it.
The team in question features Gladd from Redeem (the clan that got World’s First on Last Wish) and Slayerage from The Legend Himself (who recently solo’d the first boss fight). It took the duo some time to develop a strategy but eventually everything came together and they did it. Watch the full run below:
According to Slayerage, this run is only made possible by two “exploits.” One involves an out-of-bounds area in the raid that allows a player to return to the top area and then float down to their teammate. That way, Gladd could complete certain mechanics in his section of the raid and then help Slayerage.
Meanwhile, Slayerage had to get a very quick look at the symbols via a recording and then figure out how to activate the lifts in his first area. After that, the two could work together and go through the whole process. It also helps that Whisper of the Worm is so strong with its exotic catalyst.
I’ll admit that when the encounters of the Last Wish raid were first uncovered, it was hard to imagine players completing certain sections with 5 people let alone 2. And yet, these folks continue to prove that the seemingly impossible is possible thanks to some workarounds.
Destiny 2: Forsaken is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
