Usually, when a new Destiny 2 season comes around, Guardians get excited for all the new weapons they’re going to spend months grinding for or the new Exotics that might totally change the way they play. But after the Season of the Splicer trailer dropped, Destiny 2 players became laser-focused on one thing: baby Fallen.
The Fallen, for those who haven’t spent thousands of hours in Destiny 2, are a species of insect-like aliens that are typically antagonistic, but Season of the Splicer will feature a friendly faction. You can tell they’re friendly because there’s going to be a cutscene in the upcoming season where you see a Fallen who is absolutely covered in babies, and they’re just freakin’ adorable.
So adorable that social media exploded with baby Fallen fan art the day after the baby Fallen were first discovered. Since then they’ve already been given the unofficial name of “Smallen” and many Guardians have already pledged their lives in defense of them.
Of course, there’ve also been calls for Bungie to create Baby Fallen plush toys for Destiny 2 fans to buy. And if there’s one thing that Bungie listens to, it’s Destiny 2 players demanding to spend money on merch.
Not three days after the Season of the Splicer’s trailer we now have the Bungie Store notifying us that they plan on selling those adorable baby Fallen swaddled in cloth. Bungie is partnering with fantastic merch makers Numskull Designs to bring us these 10-inch plushies sometime before the end of 2021. They even have eyes that glow in the dark.
Keep in mind that this is a design in progress and might not be how the final Small plush looks. Also, we don’t have a price tag yet, but you can sign up for email notifications when Bungie puts these little guys on sale.
In the meantime, Season of the Splicer will bring us over 30 new weapons which we have kindly detailed in this guide here. You probably won’t consider these guns cuter than baby aliens, but they’re still nice.
