A trio of Destiny 2 players have set a new speedrun record for the Pit of Heresy dungeon.

Five minutes, 26 seconds. That’s how long it took Guardians Twicemas, Fred, and Fuzed to complete the Pit of Heresy, a dungeon in Destiny 2 that normally takes around half-an-hour to complete.

Posted to the official Destiny subreddit, we get to see how they did it thanks to a separate video for each of the three players (which we’ll link to their names in the paragraph above).

So how’d they squeeze a 30-minute dungeon down to just over 5 minutes? A combination of specific gear and extensive use of known map glitches. Fred glitches through the map right at the beginning and plays the role of party puller and is able to drag the other two players forward past the first two encounters, skipping them entirely. The third encounter is bypassed through a well-known duplication glitch which allows it to be completed in a matter of seconds rather than minutes.

The fourth encounter is completed but largely reduced thanks to the liberal use of top-tree Dawnblade’s ultra-mobility perks, and the final encounter is quickly completed thanks to swords and Well of Radiance.

Although this beats the previous record by almost 10 seconds, the trio thinks they can be even faster and are aiming for a time of less than 5:20.
