Destiny 2 will enter its fourth year with the launch of Beyond Light, and with it, weapon sunsetting will release. It can be confusing to decipher what pieces of gear will be sunsetted this fall, so one fan created a website to keep track of sunsetting gear.

Every piece of gear in Destiny 2 will have a four-season lifespan, including the season it was launched in, after which it will be “sunset.” For instance, anything from Season of Arrivals will be infusible up to the power level cap until the beginning of 2020’s summer season. What complicated things is that some loot gets reissued (refreshing its life cycle) or is treated differently if it’s from activities such as the Last Wish and Garden of Salvation raids.

Sunset loot will still be usable, but not viable in power level-sensitive activities. Thus, it can be quite practical for hardcore players to know which items they can bring into their endgame activities. The game doesn’t filter out outdated items, so user wobow on Reddit created the Sunset Power Caps website to assist players in the creation of their future endgame arsenals.

The website has a seasonal filter to dictate the max power of the items listed, armor filters based on character class and slot, and weapon filters based on type and slot. Thanks to its snappy nature, it is very easy to curate a future-proof loadout with this online tool. It also supports eleven languages and links each item to its light.gg page if users want to learn more about them.

It is also interesting to see which weapon types will lack endgame viable alternatives due to most of their members becoming outdated. Heavy Machine Guns could use a bit of help since the only Beyond Light-ready one is the Seventh Seraph SAW which was a Season of the Worthy exclusive. However, the loot pool will likely get a hefty injection of new items with the launch of Beyond Light so the website will surely look different in a couple of months.

The author had also created Destiny Pre-Season Checklist, a website to aid players in preparing for an upcoming season. This includes suggestions about which resources to farm based on the player’s stock and stored XP regarding the player’s completed and saved bounties.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
