Beyond Light - the upcoming DLC for Destiny 2 as revealed by Bungie yesterday - will among other things be introducing a fourth element type to be used against enemies.
The element is called Stasis, and will be joining the likes of the game’s Solar, Void, and Arc damage types later this year. This will be the first new element to be introduced since the launch of the first Destiny game, so this is quite a big deal.
As for what Stasis actually is, we know so far that it’ll let you “wield the Darkness,” as one does. According to the game’s Steam page, it’ll let you summon “epic supers to dominate the battlefield,” and that as expected, “Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters each use Stasis in a different way, from slowing down foes with Stasis fields to encasing and shattering enemies with destructive might.”
The main aim of Beyond Light is stop Eramis the Shipstealer and Fallen Kell of Darkness. She’s set up shop on the frozen moon of Europa where she’s planning to rally up a somewhat troublesome empire. No one wants that, so it’s the Guardians’ job to stop it.
Beyond Light is set to release on 22nd September 2020 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, but is available for pre-order now via the Bungie Store. It will also be launching on PS5 and Xbox Series X later this year.
