The Loaded Question fusion rifle is one of three pinnacle weapons available in Season 5 of Destiny 2, the other two being The Mountaintop grenade launcher and the Breakneck auto rifle. Loaded Question is earned from Zavala, with players progressing the quest by completing objectives in strikes or Nightfall playlists.

Loaded Question is probably the weakest of the three pinnacle weapons newly added to Destiny 2, but like the others, it offers a unique perk that isn’t seen on other fusion rifles. That perk is Reservoir Burst, which gives Loaded Question a version of the Dragonfly perk—but only under certain circumstances. The Reservoir Burst perk makes it so that when the fusion rifle has a full magazine (a.k.a the battery is fully charged), the next shot will do additional damage and causes enemies to explode upon death.

While the weapon has the potential for clearing groups of low-tier enemies, the need to have full ammo can make using the weapon awkward. Another one of its perks, Auto-Loading Holster, is meant to allow players to holster the weapon and then fire a strong blast a little while later. While that does work for one-off shots into a group of enemies, the perk doesn’t do much if players want to fire multiple shots in a row into one or more enemies.

Regardless of the weapon’s ultimate standing within the game currently, to earn it, players will need to focus on strikes after picking up the associated quest from Zavala in the Tower. Like the quest for the Gambit pinnacle weapon, Breakneck, all these objectives can be progressed simultaneously:

  • 500 fusion rifle kills in any strike or Nightfall 1000 Arc kills in any strike or Nightfall 40 strike or Nightfall completions

To complete this quest, players should equip an Arc-based subclass and a fusion rifle. The exotic fusion rifle Telesto is especially powerful, but any fusion rifle will do. If players have an Arc-based fusion rifle, those kills will go towards both kill requirements. By the time players complete 40 strikes, those other objectives will likely be completed along the way. Return to Zavala and pick up Loaded Question.
